The Nick Spencer Omnibus is a real treat. If someone is looking for a great ongoing storyline with multiple smaller arcs throughout, this is a treat. I really enjoyed the storyline setting up Kindred and the Kraven story is moody with some great action.
Volume 2 is one of the very best Spidey omnis, John Romita was such an influential creative force on the series and his artistic style defined the series for decades! Nobody really deviated from Romita's style until McFarlane came along

I’d throw Superior omnibus and the first JMS omnibus out there because both get maligned but are actually great (jms 1 does have sins past, but up to that is great)
For me my favourite spider-man comic is the JMS run, it was also my introduction to Spider-man. Now reading the Dan Slott run wich I like but I prefer JMS. Planning to read Ultimate spider-man soon
Interesting list. Clone Saga and Beyond do seem to be less recommended than the JMS, Ultimate or ASM v1. I think I would go for: -Michelinie (all 3 omnis tbh, I am so happy the Larsen one is getting a reprint and we get Bagley as well). -Clone Saga and Ben Reilly -Roger Stern -Superior foes of spider-man -Spider-Man 2099 and vol 2 is coming this year as well. I don't know if my list is really underrated tho.

Amazing V2 is a great pick. It collects a lot of John Romita (Sr.)'s run, and has some stand out stories. Mondern readers checking this out is a double edged blade. On the one hand, they'll read some great comics. On the other hand, they'll come to understand that the same plots keep getting recycled - and not for the better. Michiline and McFarlane is solid. I was buying that run in real time, and it was a lot of fun. Adjective-less McFarlane was "meh". I skipped that book at the time. The writing was bad. Really bad. But nobody bouthg that for the writing. McFarlane was pushing the limits in terms of page layout and panel design. Some really gorundbreaking stuff in there. I wasn't around for the clone saga, and based on the bits of it I've read since, I didn't miss much. I really appreciate your reviews, and list videos. I appreciate your dedication to showing off longer form collections and omnis. They really are a great way to enjoy runs of comics. Though my best experience with comics is still the single issue, I'm coming around on the ombibus format.

Good video and respect to you for not completely slagging on McFarlane's run like many tend to do...the writing's not great, but it's no worse than most Big 2 comics now if we're being honest. Amazing Vol 2 is one of my all time favorite Omnis, but the Nick Spencer one I couldn't even finish (stopped when Hunted ended and couldn't go any further seeing the artwork in the rest)...this is the first Spidey I've read since I quit after OMD and it felt like a sitcom, props to him for bringing back MJ though

You're probably fine. Most omnis of mondern comics can be read without knowing the back matter. Most of the writers seem to pretend it doesn't exist, anyway. 😜
