So happy you loved it! It really stood out to me as a great Superman interpretation. I agree that none of the cameos felt shoehorned in and instead felt natural.
You were one of the maybe 2-3 people I specifically remember recommending this to me in a comment, and wow I appreciate that! Easily one of my favorite Superman stories I’ve had the pleasure of reading in a minute 👏 Excellent book 📚
I really dug this man! A fantastic take on the Superman origin/comic of age story 👏🎉 A great read that goes swiftly and showcases so many gifted artists. I had this recommended to me by the community here on UA-cam and I’m so happy I decided to check it out 👏📚 Thanks for stopping by bud
Its great to see someone reviewing this title n talking bout it! N ur certainly worthy of it Dom, i read this years ago when it first came out. To me personally, even if its not 'All Star Superman' tier, i definitely put it up there with Superman Secret Origin by Geoff Johns , Secret Identitiy by Kurt Busiek n Red Son by Millar as far as origin stories goes by. Great review, glad u did it...peace n love, cheers!
Thanks! Yeah I really loved this book, easily one of my favorite Superman origin stories (although there are many good ones!) I read this based solely on the recommendations from commenters on this channel and I’m so happy I did. Great book! 📚 Thanks for watching! 👏📚
@@TheComicBookReport well Superman has so damn cannon, non canon, or alternate universe origin stories. Don’t understand why they can’t keep it simple like characters like Batman only had one defining origin like year one or zero year that one hasn’t changed unless the story was in a different world.
This is definitely in my top 3 Superman stories right next to secret origin and all star Superman probably my favorite lex luthor moment in comics (right next to the final confrontation in the luthor graphic novel) it's absolutely hilarious that Superman's first cape is Batman's! I think my favorite aspect of Superman is the Clark Kent persona and it's really great that this book highlights that! Also I love that Lois Lane falls in love with the man and not the superhero! 9.5/10
I’ve been interested in reading this for a while, especially since it influenced the “Superman: Man of Tomorrow” movie, and the current “My Adventures w/ Superman” show. Just sucks Max Landis is…well…Max Landis 🤮
Yeah I don’t know much about his personal life but as for the story I loved it! A fantastic Superman story, or set of stories. Gorgeously illustrated and memorable for me. This is absolutely one I plan to revisit periodically in the future. 👏 If you end up checking it out I’d love to hear your thoughts on it
Landis has a REALLY bad reputation for being a Hollywood creep. Apparently, he got banned from the set of a movie HE WROTE because of how he treated the women. Will do! I’m still hoping to get Tom King’s Up in the Sky in trade (it sadly went out of print 😢).
@@TheComicBookReport That’s the advantage to companies taking most of the money off these things. If the creatives behind it end up terrible people, you can still buy without much guilt.
What is your favorite Superman story? 📚
Superman secret identity is my all time favorite and I won’t stop mentioning it until you read it
@@spencerolson7045 I’ve gotta add it to my list! 📚📚📚

It’s too bad Landis turned out to have some serious issues. This was a really, really good series either way.
Yeah I haven’t delved deeply into the author but this product is one seriously great Superman story
Okay, yeah. I looked into it, and I’m annoyed such a good story came from such a sexist obnoxious person.

One day you got to rank all these Superman origin stories, because there is definitely enough
It’s funny you say this I have a video coming out next week with my five favorite Superman origin stories 😂
