It's a horrible form of torture. Some days I almost WANT to get in a crash just to put an end to the unendurable anxiety. I know sooner or later I'm going to die out there. I'm sure of it.
Leon Davies Hi I passed just more then a year ago. As first I was so nervous because i was learning in a mini then I got my own car and it was so different. Having someone in the car with you that you know well definitely helped me get over my nerves. Going on little driving routes around my area also helped me grow confidence but also helped me get use to my car. Best thing to remember is not to rush anything as that can make you panic more! I also use to overthink driving and that’s what got me all worked up, you just need to give yourself some credit because you passed your test on your own.The more you drive the more your confidence grows😊
I fail my test first time because of nerves! I am generally a calm person but when it comes to tests my nerves got the better of me, to a point where my mind would go blank and i loose focus, then do something stupid that I wouldn't normally or ever do on driving lessons. So I am trying me best to stay focus 😩
Learning to drive should not be a pain. The reason i was nervous, was because my "instructor" was downright patronising and negative... I remember, one time, when i changed from 3rd to 4th gear a bit too early, my instructor yelled at me "cmon stop making these same bloody mistakes" and goes on to say "i know no one is perfect"... If you so happen to have a bad instructor, FIND ANOTHER ONE ASAP.
I had one woman huff and puff and kept picking up on what I was doing wrong as if she enjoys it... didn’t feel like she was helping me at all she was passive aggressive and made my anxiety driving worse I gave up after that as felt so bad!
I'm fine but as soon as a cars behind me i freak out completely and can't focus. Then I think, if i can't handle one car behind me how the hell am i going to handle being in traffic or a busy road. I can't drive for more than 20 minutes atm.
@@samhoey8247 I put music on and focus in my driving. I Cannot think about the car behind unless I need to do something that will effect them. If people want to over take because I am doing 29 mph on a 30 mph road lext them. Usually impatient. I found my P plates caused more problems than they should. People over taking me even at full speed limit but sometimes People where just patient. And let you go at the speed you were going at. I do not go too close to cars either.
I passed my test 3months ago, bought my car yesterday and drove today, honestly the only thing that makes me nervous is a car behind me 😂😂, but I spoke to my cousin about it and he said as long as you're driving safely and within the speed limit don't let the driver behind you make you nervous, just put on your radio/music and don't give a crap about them
So I'm back for an update, I've been driving every day for the last 3weeks.. - The first day I was trying to put it into gear 3 but put it into gear 3 and quickly fixed that (never happened again) - The second day I stalled on the big roundabout OMG 😭😭😭😭😭, cars were beeping me, but I just turned the car back on and moved off, it was on my mind for a few hours then I moved on, went on the roundabout again the next day on purpose just to prove to myself I could do it and I did 😎 - The second week I went on the motorway, i was a bit nervous but it was good, did it a few more times after that Other than that and me holding up cars behind me because I'm following the speed limit signs (which is their own problem) it has been fantastic and I regret not getting my license and car years ago, the best thing about it is the freedom of just getting in your car and doing what you want without relying on other people or public transport, it's amazing and now I'm fully comfortable with driving on the roads. Watch the youtube videos like the ones on this account and don't look back 😎
@@MussoliniLondon It sounds like you've done a great job gaining experience and confidence! I bet you've reached the point where you couldn't imagine not having a car any more, as the independence it gives is amazing. Good luck on the road!
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool Honestly I can never imagine myself getting back on public transport, now more than ever that they've raised the fares yet again 😂 My confidence is so much better than it was before, and like I have advised some of my friends and I will advice others, they need to binge on this channel, its amazing and helped me loads so thank you 👏🏽👌🏽
My friend said the same thing to me. turn your music up and concentrate on what you are doing safety my old instructor used to say you cannot drive the other cars so just concentrate on your own driving .
For some, driving on their own for the first time can often make them feel like they’ve been thrown straight in at the deep end, so I think this video will help them out a LOT.
@Alex Luca my brother was acting the same until I yelled back at him and said that I never will drive him back home. He stopped doing that and driving in silence made me much more confident than ever.
I felt like this to be honest and still feel sometimes. As I am driving for just over 2 months now on my own. I was even thinking if I deserved a license 🤷♀️
This women is so informative everything she said happened to me. I get so nervous, then coz I’m thinking about it I End Up making further fault then as a result I start getting more nervous and my body feels funny and my legs feels like jelly. So I will stop thinking about getting nervous and have the mindset that if I fail I fail if I pass i pass it was meant to be.
I got my license 5 months ago and I felt good and was very confident in my driving then after getting my license I started to get really nervous driving on main roads and only stick to nearby small areas, I drive safe it's just I get really nervous when being put in a situation on the road that I don't know how to handle, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one feeling this way
Have had a moment like this. Was front of a queue behind slow moving vehicle on fast road. Was a while before I got my chance to get around. Didn't look in my mirror early enough and low and behold I'm nearly on the other side of the road accelerating and I spot a van which got fed up in the queue steaming up behind me. I pulled back in quick to let him pass without jamming on his brakes and no harm done. But it played on my mind not checking the mirror right and I knew I'd lost concentration on the task of driving so found a safe spot to pull in. No harm or shame in pulling over to regain your composure. Safer than driving distracted.
I get nervous on fast roads. I'm perfectly fine going at 40/50, but if I have to drive on a fast A road it takes a while to adjust. I think it's down to the mentality of *if* I crash it'll be worse if I'm going faster. I think it's also down to having vehicles around me/alongside me which I've always struggled with even before driving, as I have an irrational fear they're going to change lanes without seeing me. I'm a lot better than I used to be but it's still a problem sometimes.
Great videos. It proves that just because you passed your driving test doesn't always mean that you are actually ready to drive all by your self. When I first started driving by my self, i felt like a young lion thrown out of his nest who had to go find his own way and chase by him self for the first time in the jungle. Driving is unpredictable like the jungle is. Lol.
You guys are absolutely wonderful literally you have covered everything to do with driving and I’m glad I’ve just found this because this is the trouble with me in the car am anxious like I’m constantly ready for something bad to happen a see it lot with hesitation and as someone who suffers with bipolar disorder and in recovery this has been the biggest challenge of my life and want to achieve something confidence nerves and anxiety is my main problem my instructor is constantly having to remind me to relax in the car and it’s a worry when I’m actually on test this is my fifth attempt in thinking gosh it’s only me in control thank you guys because it’s just faith in myself I need and I’ll regularly watch this one as a reminder even before a lesson
Making mistakes is part of learning, but a serious mistake needs to be addressed properly to (hopefully) prevent it happening again. It's impossible for us to say whether there is too much 'discussion' or not unfortunately. Good luck with your lessons!
Even though I'm currently learning my anxiety gets worse when I see something bad on the road. For example people on their phone, tailgaters or cars going way too fast! These sorts of things make me a nervous wreck and I start over thinking about what could happen.
I used to be such a confident driver, I was driving for over a year and I passed 4 months after turning 17. In may my car completely broke so I haven’t been driving for a good 5 months now, this video gives me hope that I haven’t forgot everything x
It’s been 9 months since I passed my test confidently, I bought a car recently and have lost all confidence after driving it today for the first time since I passed. I’m just too worried I’ll have an accident and cause insurance to rocket or someone to get hurt 😔
That is a very long time to go without driving, so it's normal that you have lost some confidence. We would start with a few short and easy drives, and consider booking a lesson or two with your old instructor if needed. Good luck!
My god I was a nervous reck, i use to become like Elvis, when I use to have my test my left leg just use to shake , even the examiners looked and got shocked, but thank god it's a bit better passed on my 17 test 💐
Well done for not giving up. I have been having lessons since April but am progressing quite well. However a few weeks ago a van smashed into the back of me at a roundabout during my lesson. This knocked my confidence even more but I got back to a lesson the week after. I knew if I delayed it I would have felt like I'd given up.
This video has been so helpful. I’m 37 and a busy mum of 2 and find i have anxiety when it time for my lesson. I’ve recently established its my reaction to hazards I get most nervous about... and that comes down to speed amongst other things. Thank you so much for this x
Feeling nervous n anxious...a long break from driving...pressure to b a good driver n criticism from others...these are my reasons for being afraid..wat to do?
My fear while driving is that I’m afraid of not seeing someone and hitting them in traffic. The lack of sight really scares me, especially since it happened a few times that I didn’t see a biker (they weren’t dangerously close though).
I fear death or even injury everytime I get in a car. The weird thing is I don't feel that way when I'm training with family. Is there a reason behind this? The instructor is a nice guy. We talk a lot like friends. I just dont know why I got this weird cycle of anxiety. And my test is coming up on September 4th
It's right to appreciate the responsibility that you're taking on when driving a car - but also know that if you drive safely there is a very small chance of getting hurt. If anything you are much safer when on your driving lessons, as your instructor is a professional and also has dual controls to help in an emergency. Good luck!
Me too,my instructor is like a good friend but i feel so anxious with him i cannot for on busy roads,i dont know where this came from it should be a perfect situation ,im now changing to an automatic car and different instructor and it helps ,automatics are for me :-) goodluckxx
Dont fear death when driving, if you die you won't be able to pay for a new car or repairing your existing car. However, if you make a mistake and cause and accident while staying alive, you would have big expenses my friend. So focus on not making any accidents that would cost you lots of money
I have some anxiety and nervousness about driving, however, I started driving a few months ago. I am glad to say I have a road test appointment in early September. I am ready to get my license and a pre-owned SUV I can budget for. I need my SUV to be under fifteen thousand dollars.
When I was 18 I wanted to drive but couldn’t afford it,11 years later I decided I’ll do it and booked my course. But I didn’t enjoy it like I did when I was 18.Anxiety was killing me every time I had my lesson.Had 60hours driving with instructor and managed pass my test on first go with 5minors faults. Was really pleased but...I never driven since till last May,my husband bought me a car and I can’t drive because of fear which I can’t control, don’t ejoy it at all.I have manual transmission and wanted automatic car but my husband told me no!So every morning I do drive to work and back with my husband, was on my own 3times and I thought I will get a heart attack and yes,my concentration is rubbish because my body becomes stiff and I can’t think properly. My driving instructor said I have got a potential to be a good driver,my husband says the same but I am scared,I don’t enjoy,I giving up...
We're sorry to hear that you aren't enjoying your driving. Have you had a good think to work out what exactly you are fearful of? Once you have worked that out, maybe you can make your own strategy as the video suggests. Good luck :-)
I brought an automatic and my concentration is good although I am a nervous driver lotrslly only drive to pick my children up on school run and go to work.
If only you lived in Bury St Edmunds we could teach you to drive - and we promise not to make you cry! There are plenty of nice instructors out there though, so don't give up just yet - just think how awesome it would be to be able to drive. Good luck :-)
I passed my test and I have felt more scared than ever before knowing I must drive alone now in a country where no one follows road rules and is riddled with violent crime, so you cannot just pull over . I just try and meditate before I leave , say positive affirmations and do not let other drivers bully me . I also got a sticker on the back of my car that states I am an anxious driver .
Thanks for uploading this, I have a mock test tomorrow just to see what it feels like, however watching this video has helped me to be less stressful and to focus on myself and the car / car journey
I can honestly say that your videos helped me so much before my test. You explain everything so well. I passed first time with six minors today,! Thank you so much.
Yes...This is so true. Even if I'm picky to instructors I was still a victims of many but I always stop and find the best one but for about 6 instructors only two were doing normal honestly. The rest were so toxic and full of negativity.
I'm turning 40 this year of Nov. 23, 2023 and still working on staying on my lanes, turn around sharp 90' "L" turns & roundabouts. Sometimes I blank out, speeding to fast and almost hit a pole sign few times going to work or going home after work shift is done early in the morning when the sun isn't out in the next hour with very little visibility to see. I just need to stay calm and take some deep breathes and slow down at every corner turns on the streets or dirt road. keep my speed up or I'll get honk at. My Permit is due year 2026, so I have plenty of time for more practices till Driver's License test.
This is such a great and calming video and is sympathetic and understanding, driving can be stressful, I agree with others a bad instructor is never good they should encourage people and praise when people do things right. I'd say driving safely and keeping calm and not let other drivers put you off. Everyone is different and learns at different pace, I say make sure things are straight in your head first and dont rush to get everywhere, travelling should be fun but safe not a chore. Instructors shouldnt be rushing people, things will click eventually. These videos are so easy to understand and things are clicking in my head watching them which never occured with my driving instructor years ago. Sat navs and driving more in quiet periods is better and less stressful.
Thank you so much for this video it is really helped me a lot. I have been taking refresher lessons for the last two months after not driving for 10 years and this video really helps. Now I am a lot more confident with driving and I have a great driving instructor who has helped to build up my confidence. Now my only worry is parking, as I live in London, and where I live your lucky if you can find a space to park lol.
I've learnt that if you make this kind of face 😑 or emotion whilst driving, you will no longer worry about stress. Its the, i don't care face. Trust me it works!
Funnily enough, treating the situation alot more calmly and not caring abour being anxious or stressed does work. The face works, just fake being chill until you are.
I suffer with fibromyalgia and my muscles get so tense and painful in lessons due to anxiety. It can incapacitate me for a day or two afterwards because of the fatigue as well. I dread to think how I'll be during and after my test! I think that will improve when I'm driving by myself and not constantly being watched and criticised!
Hopefully once you're a confident and safe driver (and ready for your test) you won't feel as anxious when you drive - so maybe your symptoms will be reduced. For a extra few tips maybe watch our other video 'How to control your Driving Test nerves'.
Really a good motivated from u guys ..its helped a lot apart from my driving school...my school gave me licence. But learned a most of the lessons from your videos ...45+ age is not a easy task to learn will take a time to compare young age group ...thanks a lot fm india
Well as for me honestly I was surprised I was able to master Hand Over Hand on my first time without doing the pizza way. Second lesson I mastered my shoulder check and mirrors maintaining my speed. Third lesson I made some mistake on my first parallel parking first attempt and on my second attempt I was able to park correctly. Fourth lesson well I don’t know what happen. Everything went well until my nerves kicked in and everything I just froze. I was driving too slow. It’s like I forgot about everything I’ve learned. I have to learn how to keep my nerves in check. Im still struggling with my turns and 3 point turns. In total was 3 hour lesson. Sunday is my fifth lesson. Since I’m home I can do some mind meditating of me driving. I hope it helps to train my brain so when I’m on the wheel I’m confident.
I drive in a sporty way because its fun and you don't focus on nerves or anxiety, trust me try it out it helps and speeds up the learning process even my instructor knows I like doing that, he always says "put your foot down" if im going slow on a road with a 60 limit
Passed 6 years ago and then took a break. I've just recently got back into driving and this is really helpful. It's like you've read my mind about exactly what I'm anxious about.
I turned 15 today and got my permit. Been driving off road hardcore snowmobiles at 85mph going through tight turns drove side by sides practically anything and everything but I got on the road today and I thought my head was going to explode with how my dad was doing
Thanks so much for this video! As a learner, each lesson, I find myself getting worked up before getting onto the road. Watching this has helped a lot and I'm ready for my next lesson with a clearer mind!
i’m an american who just started learning how to drive a manual after learning on an automatic and the hardest part is just staying calm and focused so i don’t stall or buck the car
Hi, at 1:45, did you clutch on your approach on 2nd gear and lift up when you were speeding up? I have a problem approaching in juction in 2nd gear as i move too fast and when i break slightly, my car will start jumpingans stall ( petrol car ) but when i see your video, you move turned left so smooth on 2nd gear
Yes, it looks like I pushed the clutch down on approach to the junction, and then gently engaged it again once I knew it was safe to continue. On my car I can do that as long as I am doing at least 5mph - otherwise I would change to 1st gear. The key is to stay at the biting point until I am back to 10mph. Your car may have slightly different speeds of course! In case it helps we made this video about using the best gear when giving way at junctions. ua-cam.com/video/8NeJZFiMwzQ/v-deo.html
Cars on the main road have priority over cars in the minor road (as they have to cross a Give Way line). If both cars are on the major road and want to turn into the same junction, then the car turning left into the road has priority, and the other car needs to Give Way before turning right across the other cars lane.
Roundabouts make me nervous, if I’m going somewhere I don’t know I go on Google earth and zoom in to see what lane I’ll need to be in, if I’m in the wrong lane I just follow it and turn around and go back when I can….hope this might help others..
My driving's okay during lessons, but when I have to do the test, I start feeling nervous next to the examiner. I've already failed more than 3 times and I hate it😭😭
Hi I am taking my test on 7th June and learn in a diesel car. I have recently purchased a ford KA which is petrol, there is a big significant change between the two. My driving instructor wants me to get more confident with pulling out when there’s a gap on roundabouts, I was practising in my own car and at a round about I had chance to go on as a lorry blocked the exit before mine, however my car is slow at progressing out due to not being as familiar with the biting point/amount of gas needed, I ended up having a van drive fast almost into the side of me sounding their horn, it has frightened me but I am willing to ignore the other driver, I just want to know if you have any tips on changing from a driver instructors car to your own car?
This is a really common problem - and shows how much difference there can be between cars, either old / new or petrol / diesel. We suggest driving somewhere quiet, and then practicing how to pull away promptly so you know what to do next time you are somewhere busy. Basically, use your hill start technique (handbrake + extra engine revs) on the flat! Good luck 👍🏼
My mum has had an automatic for a few years now and she’s had to drive my dads manual and was so anxious she found it difficult and was driving slower so I decided to learn and have passed in an automatic but I am also a nervous driver I passed in 5 months I didn’t think I was ready to pass
I passed my theory and practical test 1st time and after that, I was only driving for 6 months but then stopped due to financial problems but now that I haven’t driven for a while, the thought of getting back in the car freaks me out 🙈
Maybe go for a short drive when there is very little traffic, like Sunday morning? Or you could book a refresher lesson with your old driving instructor?
I was a nervous wreckafter about 7 lessons.. My(independant) instructor got mixed up not texting and took me off her list says i didn't text her..so I lost my place. Going to have to look for another instructor/school.i get so anxious though! I'm 53 !
Advance Driving School yes thanks for replying. My fella says automatic is silly and said I may need a Manuel licence if I want to maybe drive his car one day
In the future all cars will be automatic, so everyone will be driving them sooner or later. Don't worry what your fella says, do whatever is right for you - if it reduces your anxiety surely thats a good thing?
hi i get anxiety when driving far from home is the problem, its like i cant go on while looking at the road in front of me a feeling of can i make the rest of this and get to where i love to go to, does anyone out there feel the same way as this when driving far from home if so share it with me please thanks very much.
I get stressed driving on busy roads as I live in the country side and I’ve never had proper driving on bush roads I want to and not be scared doing it because roads are so confusing. That’s what stresses me.
Thanks fir interesting video ,for your unique way of explaining .please explain the how to find the safe distance between vehicles , left side distance judge and drive on speed humps of the road.
this will all come naturally once you been driving for a while I don't even think about left side distance judgment anymore I just roughly know the width of my car and know how close I can get to parked cars when squeezing through a tight part of the road
Hi Advanced Driving school, I love watching all your videos and I would be very pleased if you could do a video on how to stay calm when you are trying to keep your car centred In the road. As i make one mistake it leads to more mistakes. If i could sort this out I would really enjoy my lessons more I'm an adult learner driver Thanks Hina
I don't know if you are still replying to comments, but if you are,. where is this video shot? It looks like somewhere in England, but I'm doubting myself because it looks so calm and nice!
I get nervous in crowded times so I always try to go outside rush hours, especially for motorways as those big roundabouts at the exits make my heart race. I also hate driving in darkness when its raining at the same time as well
hi, i real follow your videos very much and they are so helpfull, but i would like to have the videos on how to drive off the roads, and on sand areas what are the tips should be considered...
I was told that I drive a crazy woman, or I am sleeping or I just drank Jacky Cola, or I am driving with my eyes closed. I changed my instructor, he is a bit better but also yelled at me when I cranked my fingers (my bad habit). I got shocked when he did that and suddenly for a bit of panic attack. #learning to drive in Germany is a pain in the ass.
Is there a video for coping with breakdown anxiety? I broke down 3 times in the last year (power steering cut out) (gear stuck in 3rd) (engine temperature redlining) all in 3pm traffic causing obstructions with 2 different cars. I have scrapped both and now rent zipcars but it has left a paranoia and anxiety that the slightest thing may make me think i will breakdown in a busy location again!
I have serious driving anxiety because of my instructor, she makes me feel really bad and anxious to the point I can't drive and I make mistakes. But it's a small school and she is the only instructor. I don't know what to do.
l'm way too nervous in a car. So nervous that l get the shakes on my left leg. l'm l the only person in the world who gets the shakes like this? After 40 lessons? l cancelled my test and informed my instructor. l hate the clutch, roundabouts, parking, roundabouts and driving fast.
l enjoyed the lessons at 1st and l did get along with the instructor. Within the last 20 lessons? l got more and more anxious, don't know why. On the 36th lesson is when l started to get observable leg shaking upon the clutch. The instructor stated why is your leg shaking. The instructor stated my drive was actually good but l am way too hard upon myself when l make a simple mistake as stalling has become more common. l have developed a fear of using the roads, due to stalling. l also feel that maybe an automatic might have been way better for me. As l am totally fed up with the clutch and gear changing.
I need to learn how to get confidence of pulling out to busy roads and gain confidence of driving my family car as I am good on my lessons and not had an issue. I guess its just that little reassurance of the instructor able to use his pedals if something goes wrong. Sorry for the rant but any tips to get confidence to drive my family car.
The problem for me is other drivers. I've been undertaken for not going over the speed limit, honked at for slowing down for speed bumps, honked at for doing 30mph on a 30mph speed trap. It's infuriating as I come home feeling like I've done it wrong. I recently drove in the countryside and the difference in attitude from other drivers was incredible, they didn't tailgate, worked with me to pass each other in single file country lanes, and I didn't get honked for obeying the rules of the road.
It’s amazing how much variation there is in other people’s driving in different situations. Where we live in a small town it’s pretty relaxed and patient - but when we visit a city it’s much more aggressive! All you can do is drive as well as possible and try not to worry when others drive badly. Good luck 🤞🏼
Whenever I even think of the day up tests my stomach gets knots😭😭on the way there and till I test my stomach will be misbehaving so much I feel like I'm about to have diahrea
I have passed my test 2yrs ago i drive here and there to work and home but i feel nurvous when driving to big places like if i go out to town or anywhere out thats far from home i dont want to drive there
Thankfully it is very rare for the foot brake system to fail (if a car is well maintained) but if you are unlucky then the handbrake can also stop the car in an emergency. We demonstrated this in our video ‘When to use the handbrake’ 👍🏼
My problem is i concentrate on the back traffic like the car behind me, oh they getting close, they are far apart yet, in the back mirror people say look ahead don't focus on the back traffic yet the mind goes towards the back traffic, today i realized while turning left i passed the park car on the left so close as we usually say a door distance that was close only because there was a car behind me and yet i was thinking about it unfortunately Also can you suggest or make a video on satnav for cars which ones are good etc and easy to install like you put them on your dashboard and plug the charger in the car charging socket, the ones that shows speed in mph, warnings etc but portable ones as they are easy to be installed My car has a analog speedometer while i can see you have one with green light because concentration too much on speedometer also distracts so can you make video about such devices which helps please

Advance Driving School Great video very useful thanks .
Your videos on how to drive are most instructive. Not only beginners, but experienced drivers also can benefit from them. Keep up the good service.
You guys are amazing!!
Advance Driving School thank you so much for your videos helped me sooooo much i passed today🎊🎉🎊
It's a horrible form of torture. Some days I almost WANT to get in a crash just to put an end to the unendurable anxiety. I know sooner or later I'm going to die out there. I'm sure of it.
Reading all these comments it helps to know im not the only nervous driver out there and there are drivers feeling just as anxious as i am.
Hi im new to driving and am really nervouse can i ask how do you feel now because you commented almost a year ago? Any advice thanks
Only ever nervous while driving a standard and I recently purchased one
123mrthunder I would have yelled right back at him and fired him on the spot. I WLL NOT pay someone to yell at me while I am learning to drive.😡😡😡
paulg well aren’t you just perfect.
I had one woman huff and puff and kept picking up on what I was doing wrong as if she enjoys it... didn’t feel like she was helping me at all she was passive aggressive and made my anxiety driving worse I gave up after that as felt so bad!
@@idorine70 😂😂😂😂😂
123mrthunder yes I agree! I had 2 driving instructor so far .
I made a lot of mistakes today & that’s why I’m here! I feel soo discouraged & need someone to tell me I’ll do better as time goes
I'm fine but as soon as a cars behind me i freak out completely and can't focus. Then I think, if i can't handle one car behind me how the hell am i going to handle being in traffic or a busy road. I can't drive for more than 20 minutes atm.
You will probably find that over time you will get used to traffic as your experience and confidence builds. Good luck!
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool Thanks!
Hello! are you still nervous, I am the same as you what did you do, thank you for any reply!!!
- The first day I was trying to put it into gear 3 but put it into gear 3 and quickly fixed that (never happened again)
- The second day I stalled on the big roundabout OMG 😭😭😭😭😭, cars were beeping me, but I just turned the car back on and moved off, it was on my mind for a few hours then I moved on, went on the roundabout again the next day on purpose just to prove to myself I could do it and I did 😎
- The second week I went on the motorway, i was a bit nervous but it was good, did it a few more times after that
Other than that and me holding up cars behind me because I'm following the speed limit signs (which is their own problem) it has been fantastic and I regret not getting my license and car years ago, the best thing about it is the freedom of just getting in your car and doing what you want without relying on other people or public transport, it's amazing and now I'm fully comfortable with driving on the roads.

Honestly I can never imagine myself getting back on public transport, now more than ever that they've raised the fares yet again 😂
My confidence is so much better than it was before, and like I have advised some of my friends and I will advice others, they need to binge on this channel, its amazing and helped me loads so thank you 👏🏽👌🏽
My friend said the same thing to me. turn your music up and concentrate on what you are doing safety my old instructor used to say you cannot drive the other cars so just concentrate on your own driving .
@Advanced Driving thats good. I don't play it so loud as to annoy others infact lostening to the radio calms me a bit.
For some, driving on their own for the first time can often make them feel like they’ve been thrown straight in at the deep end, so I think this video will help them out a LOT.
Josh Bacon im so scared to drive on my own
@@cookiepop123 Pick up courage!
I think these videos should be government funded. They are a genuine service to the community.
“Regain your confidence” I didn’t have confidence to begin with.
oops same
Me neither but setting yourself goals and boundaries can help with that
Your voice is very calm and soothing.
That sums me up perfectly
Great videos. It proves that just because you passed your driving test doesn't always mean that you are actually ready to drive all by your self. When I first started driving by my self, i felt like a young lion thrown out of his nest who had to go find his own way and chase by him self for the first time in the jungle. Driving is unpredictable like the jungle is. Lol.
Sometimes open up the window a little bit fresh air helps a little bit👍🏻
Literally watching this before going to my driving lesson.
Passed my driving test first time this morning! Thanks for your helpful videos
Well done!!! 🚙👌🏻
Wow congrats
Congratulations! May you have many safe journeys!
Congrats dear
What about if you have an instructor that criticises you after a mistake and goes on a bit then you make more errors?
If you don't feel that you are getting on with your instructor, then get a new one!
Advance Driving School he seemed ok but he really goes on if you make a mistake? I have been learning since last June.
Making mistakes is part of learning, but a serious mistake needs to be addressed properly to (hopefully) prevent it happening again. It's impossible for us to say whether there is too much 'discussion' or not unfortunately. Good luck with your lessons!
I had this, I switched instructors now I have one who is really calm
my problem 😢
Even though I'm currently learning my anxiety gets worse when I see something bad on the road. For example people on their phone, tailgaters or cars going way too fast! These sorts of things make me a nervous wreck and I start over thinking about what could happen.
I passed my driving test in April and I still get anxious about going out on my own! This video has helped me.
Sabra well done 👍

This video has been so helpful. I’m 37 and a busy mum of 2 and find i have anxiety when it time for my lesson. I’ve recently established its my reaction to hazards I get most nervous about... and that comes down to speed amongst other things. Thank you so much for this x
Thanks 👍🏼 Good luck on your lessons!

@@premabundhoo2063 drive on your local roads for many days, it will fill your muscle memory with maneuvering motions based on situations.

Thankyou for this video! I’ve almost stopped driving twice but this is reassuring knowing I’m not the only one

Yes...This is so true. Even if I'm picky to instructors I was still a victims of many but I always stop and find the best one but for about 6 instructors only two were doing normal honestly. The rest were so toxic and full of negativity.
This is fantastic! I am due to learn driving in my own automatic car soon (no automatic instructors in my area), and this was perfect for relaxing me
Glad it was helpful!
I learned a lot from this channel and l passed my driving test last week with only five fault. I went to say thanks for everyone and GBU.
Well done!!! Good luck driving on your own :-)
I passed my driving test today 1st time.thank u ur vedio
Very well done! 🚙👍🏼
Driving in London can be a challenge! Good luck getting back on the road 👍🏼
Thank You
I've learnt that if you make this kind of face 😑 or emotion whilst driving, you will no longer worry about stress. Its the, i don't care face. Trust me it works!
Funnily enough, treating the situation alot more calmly and not caring abour being anxious or stressed does work. The face works, just fake being chill until you are.
Thank you for this video. Will rewatch, I will get through my anxiety and be an excellent driver.
Oh, I love your videos, especially as you drive on the left side as I do in Thailand.
My fear of driving has prevented me from getting my license all together. I'm 20 and I just started practice driving again. Wish me luck 🤞
You can do it!
Thank you your advice help a lots. 👍🙂

I drive in a sporty way because its fun and you don't focus on nerves or anxiety, trust me try it out it helps and speeds up the learning process
even my instructor knows I like doing that, he always says "put your foot down" if im going slow on a road with a 60 limit

i’m an american who just started learning how to drive a manual after learning on an automatic and the hardest part is just staying calm and focused so i don’t stall or buck the car
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool thank you so much! It helps alot🙌🏼
00:21 who has a priority here if there a car on the right-hand side that will turn right and a car in front of that will make a turn left?
Cars on the main road have priority over cars in the minor road (as they have to cross a Give Way line). If both cars are on the major road and want to turn into the same junction, then the car turning left into the road has priority, and the other car needs to Give Way before turning right across the other cars lane.
Roundabouts make me nervous, if I’m going somewhere I don’t know I go on Google earth and zoom in to see what lane I’ll need to be in, if I’m in the wrong lane I just follow it and turn around and go back when I can….hope this might help others..
where was this all filmed ? looks quite pretty

Thanks fir interesting video ,for your unique way of explaining .please explain the how to find the safe distance between vehicles , left side distance judge and drive on speed humps of the road.
Our video ‘Adequate Clearance’ shows how to keep a safe distance between vehicles, and we are planning a video about correct road positioning soon 👍🏼
this will all come naturally once you been driving for a while I don't even think about left side distance judgment anymore I just roughly know the width of my car and know how close I can get to parked cars when squeezing through a tight part of the road

I forget everything just as I sit on drivers seat and start shaking which makes my test incomplete and instructor angry
Wat is the average speed for driving for someone having fear to drive?
Whatever the road sign says. 30 in an area with street lights unless it says otherwise.
l'm way too nervous in a car. So nervous that l get the shakes on my left leg. l'm l the only person in the world who gets the shakes like this? After 40 lessons? l cancelled my test and informed my instructor. l hate the clutch, roundabouts, parking, roundabouts and driving fast.
That sounds like you just aren't enjoying your lessons. I'd suggest changing something - maybe your instructor, or maybe to an automatic car?
l enjoyed the lessons at 1st and l did get along with the instructor.
I hope you enjoy the relaxing and easy drive that an automatic car will give. Good luck!
We made this video to help with that: Entering Busy Major Roads: ua-cam.com/video/Cv_shS3Qb-s/v-deo.html 👍🏼

@@AdvanceDrivingSchool aww thank you so much I will check it out
Thanks for a great video
I have passed my test 2yrs ago i drive here and there to work and home but i feel nurvous when driving to big places like if i go out to town or anywhere out thats far from home i dont want to drive there
Smoking cigarettes is my usual coping strategy when driving. That and listening to/yelling at/arguing with NPR on the radio.
How to manage if break fails
Thankfully it is very rare for the foot brake system to fail (if a car is well maintained) but if you are unlucky then the handbrake can also stop the car in an emergency. We demonstrated this in our video ‘When to use the handbrake’ 👍🏼
Yes, ‘engine braking’ can help a little, but it’s not really going to make much difference really. Just apply the handbrake really hard!
This is very informative
My problem is i concentrate on the back traffic like the car behind me, oh they getting close, they are far apart yet, in the back mirror people say look ahead don't focus on the back traffic yet the mind goes towards the back traffic, today i realized while turning left i passed the park car on the left so close as we usually say a door distance that was close only because there was a car behind me and yet i was thinking about it unfortunately
Also can you suggest or make a video on satnav for cars which ones are good etc and easy to install like you put them on your dashboard and plug the charger in the car charging socket, the ones that shows speed in mph, warnings etc but portable ones as they are easy to be installed
My car has a analog speedometer while i can see you have one with green light because concentration too much on speedometer also distracts so can you make video about such devices which helps please
