jack Fleet, agree 1000%. I'm a hard core Seattle grunge band fan. Was fortunate enough to be sent there by uncle Sam 1994. It was amazing to be able to experience and live at the heart of the music revolution of our time. I've had to mourn the loss, as I'm sure did you, of all the names I'm sure you well know Seattle and that era. Mr. Cornell's hit me the hardest. I still can't wrap my head around it. For 2 days I just kept thinking W...T...F..?!! NOT HIM!! Terrible tragedy and loss. His poor family. His poor, precious, little ones. Heartbreaking 😟

    • @sharibrown4561
      @sharibrown4561 7 років тому +7

I totally agree, Seattle will never be the same. Going home won't be the same. This one really hit me hard!!! I think because of Chris's many tributes to his friends who were lost to soon. Those tributes seem to resonate deeper now.

My goal and mission is to clear Chris's name, he didn't go out like a weak chickenshit pussy, he was taken... I believe that 1. (FACT) the bodyguard admits to walking chris back to his hotel room and "giving chris two Ativans" 2. He admits to being called by chris to come back to his telly room to "fix chriss computer"(which is the bodyguards excuse to be on chriss keyboard because HE is the one who posted the song "By Crooked Steps" and underneath wrote a lyric from the same song which read,"I am the shape of the hole in your heart" and they say that Chris posted this before he hanged himself. 3. I believe Chris trusted this guy enough to let his guard down because if u cant trust somebody who is being paid well to supposedly take a fucking scolding hot bullet for u and possibly die for u then u hired the wrong bodyguard right?? So i believe he crushed 2 or 3 extra Ativan up into a drink that he handed Chris. PLUS remember he ADMITS to handing chris 2 additional ativans that Chris was actually aware of... When he saw that Chris was fucked up, the ex-marine psychopath with trained murder skills strangled Chris in some trained professional manner. Arranged the body in the bathroom to make it look like a suicide by hanging. 4. The wife claims that Chris made a phone call to her slurring his words. I believe this call POSSIBLY was made by the bodyguard on Chriss phone to the wife to let her know it was accomplished. 5. Then the bodyguard admits to being called by the wife to check on Chris and so he kicked in TWO fucking doors to get to him. (WTF wouldnt u run downstairs as fast as possible and tell the front desk its an emergency and to open Chriss room??) In my focused visualization of human behavior in a certain situation like this one I envision 99 times out of 100 the worried party SPRINTING downstairs to the front desk and NOT kicking in the door of a fucking Rock Legends hotel room, risking some embarrassing news story or something. Im just sayin, like what if Chris was in the fucking shower?? He just rocked Detroit an hour earlier. I always shower after a sweaty ass concert. Why wouldnt he?? 6. The autopsy showed 7 broken ribs. Thats pretty fucking excessive for a healthy man to have from CPR. And the bodyguard admits to finding the body(dateline anyone? 48 hours anyone?) on the floor with "blood coming from his mouth". How does something as stretchy as an exercise resistance band cause bleeding from a hanging? How does a 6'2" man physically hang himself from a 6 and a half foot door? His knees would have literally been scraping the ground. He didnt and wouldnt leave his kids with so many unanswered questions. This is a tough loss. I just want to clear Chriss name. He didnt go out like a weak coward. He was stolen from us. This reminds me of when a crazy teenager kills their parents, and in their defense trial they claim the dad/mom was molesting him/her. So the parent not only has their one and only life ripped away, but their everlasting name is fucking smeared through the mud. This shit literally makes me ill. Its mindblowing that Chris had NO real friends who have come out in his defense. Sincerely... FUCK EM ALL. Shame on them... All i know is 90 times out of 100 the person who admits to being the last to see the victim, or the person who finds the body is almost always the killer.. and in this case the bodyguard is both of those.. Im not out to put this guy behind bars... not in the least. They cremated Chris a day before the fucking funeral out of paranoia and guilt. The case is closed. I just somehow need to help clear his name. He didnt murder himself. Period. I just fucking know... many people know. But not enough. Too many people accepted it as a suicide and moved on with their fast paced lives... Anyways sorry for rambling, but i felt compelled to... Again, Chris was stolen from us.. Spread the fucking word people... This is NOT a fucking conspiracy theory, its fucking obvious! Thank u for having eyes to see the truth when something doesnt add up... ELVIS HAS LEFT THE BUILDING

Jake, I hope you read this. Chris Cornell was one of the greatest vocalists alive. He inspired many people such as yourself. You are not alone in this hard time. Your video nearly brought me to tears and I think it is no coincidence that this video was uploaded today. Of all days today. When my band also played a tribute to Chris Cornell. May he Rest In Peace but never let him or his music be forgotten.

That was amazing man. Outstanding video. You said a lot in 5 short minutes. Heart felt... RIP Mr. Cornell. I was fortunate enough in December of 1994, to get out of boot camp and be sent to Bremerton, WA (PSNS). Several weeks later I found the love of my life, and of course my wife now, in Seattle. I promptly moved across the Sound and spent the next few years living there when I wasn't at sea or on deployment. Even before I moved up there I was a die-hard Soundgarden and all things grunge fan. It was amazing! Got to see all of them live, some multiple times. They were the greatest years of my life. I will cherish them forever...

I remember I just learned who Chris was, I was 17 years old. I had heard about Soundgarden before because of the song Black Hole Sun, but I never really listened to them, before I started listening to Audioslave. Then I binged every album he was on, and when the news came that he was gone. It truly broke me, and it still does to this day, three years after his passing.
In my opinion, he will always be the greatest singer of all times. Some of his songs has hit me so hard, like no other song has come close to.. and now when I listen to a song where he is singing, I just can't hold back my tears.
I am truly grateful that he was the person he was, I wish I could see him live or even meet him. Because since 2017, he is on the top of my list of favourite artists, and I hope someday that I can go to Seattle and atleast see his statue infront of the Museum of Pop Culture..
Even though I never met him, I will always miss him. The song You Never Knew My Mind, is such a haunting piece, which I like to believe is where he really comes out with his own problems, by comparing them to the dementia that Johnny Cash was suffering from before his passing.

this is amazing dude. I developed a love for soundgarden over the past few years because they're just so raw, original, and talented. I wish I could of seen them live to experince their true talent on stage, but sadly everyone has their dark times. For some over long periods of time. Just goes to show no matter how rich, famous or talented you are, everyone has their dark times and sadly it took the life of this timeless musician. But for that, lets all take in and appreciate this mans legacy. Rip brother. 1964-2017

Jake, I've been listening, processing thoughts and viewing lots of youtube videos over the past week. Chris Cornell is indeed my favorite rock musician and my favorite singer/songwriter in music, and music has been my life since I was ten years old. This is perhaps the one video that comes closest to touching what I have felt. Thank you so much for making this tribute. It says everything I've wanted to say or feel, and it's good to know that there is someone else out there who feels so similarly about the legacy of this man. RIP Chris Cornell.

    Dear Jack,
I looked at your video maybe 25 times...and your really shooted me right in the heart. I m not W. Shakespeare in english and I don't know how to express properly to explain how positive and how touching your tribute to CHRIS CORNELL is. I met CC in year 2000 if I remember well, with a friend who unfortunately passed also away these days, one week before CC... I never understood why and how CC was so nice, funny, intelligent and polite when I met him after a concert in Zurich (Switzerland). Shame on me that I was so impressed of him that I shaked like a leaf and couldn't express him really how he saved my life with his art and with the personal hug that he gave me for few seconds: I just said like " I play your music sometimes live, it's so amazing to do it and so difficult...(...)" . I will not report all conversation, but I can say that I was like standing in front of a Messiah or an angel: so calm and powerful, so funny and so open to his interlocutors. I miss words.
I followed him from the early 90', like other bands too, but I have to admit that I always indentified myself to him because of so many talent he had in so many aspects that I was wishing to obtain too. I think that he said once that " the only thing that we can really do is be ourselves " ... well, I wanted to be like him, he was my light in the darkness. I never felt depressed hearing SOUNDGARDEN's music, never. Shame on the people who aloud theirselves in commenting Chris Cornell personal life. Shame on some people talking s**** about anything about him. Humanity didn't loosed a musician...WE lost a wonderful person. I will definitely have a cult in my room from now, with all his music well organized so as to remember that there is a new star in the sky which will keep us entertained and which will makes me particularly remind that, if I meet Eddie Weder once, I will open more my heart and say it has to be said. I m really really sad for the Family and closes friends of CC. I m sure that he was a perfect person. Shame on me that I couldn't give back the same good vibes to CHRIS CORNELL. Shame on me...
Congratulations to all your precious comments about him, there is SO MANY POSITIVE TO SAY ABOUT HIM...I made listen and see the videoclip of SPOONMAN...to my 17 months SON, he opened eyes ...and I think, seeing and hearing CHRIS, he really got impressed too.
To end I would say that, Jack, maybe you have a line for a longer movie mixing CC music and a plot related to the figure of CC...I would definitely do my best to help you to achieve it.
RIP CHRIS CORNELL, sorry that I wasn't as strong as you when you saved my life.
All my respect for the family & friends of CHRIS CORNELL.

I'm still trying to come to terms with his death, he was a huge part of getting me through a tough time back in high school....I listened to every song a million times and still know them by heart. He had a talent for singing life into my soul and making me feel not as alone in the world through the lyrics of his songs. I will forever miss him, he was truly one of the best.....seeing him live was the best concert ever. Chris you will be truly missed!
    Thanks for the tribute!

Dear JACK, you united people for Chris and his Family. You saw/heard/ discovered exactly what SG was and how CC was... I know now, two weeks after he passed away, that there won't be one hour or one day in which I will not think of him until I pass away too. I was addicted to his voice and I became even more now. CC saved my life.
Wouldn't be bad that one day, you make a whole movie about CC... you are very talented. CC would be impressed about you and like you and your art !!!
Respect for the family and big hug for all nice fans standing up for CC and his Family.
    Love you all

Hello, Jake. I find your video very beautifully crafted and touching. The fact that you managed to make it in such a short notice shows you have undisputed movie making talent. At least in my humble opinion. I thank you also, for watching this gave me a much needed boost of energy, as I urgently need to properly lay my personal story connected with Chris. I lost motivation for that and skipped today. I hope I can manage until Friday and post a video as well.
I think Chris would have loved to soundtrack one of your movies. He was that kind of guy. It's important to remember him as such. I look forward to seeing this happen with one of his old songs and your future movie. You would not believe what happens, when you just ask. But for now we need to mourn collectively. I send you my good thoughts and hugs!

    thank you Jake,
I watched your beautiful tribute to Chris the day you posted this. it literally took my breath away.
it brought me to my knees in tears. im a songbird myself and I'm completely devastated that this Beautiful songbird was silenced. for what?
    why?
    was it money, greed, jealousy?
    Or all of the above?
I saw today that vk. thank you for your tribute?!?!
and that must have made you feel good in which it should indeed. But,
I would like to acknowledge Susan Silva whom discovered all of these outstanding wonderful songbird and fellow musicians if not for all of her hard work and effort we may never had known any of them.
She is the real deal. a class act such as yourself.
so in closing I would just like thank you and susan both for bringing attention to such a great era of musical history:).
    God Bless you,
    sincerely yours,
    JETT...:)!

Its so cool the way you discovered Chris's music like buried treasure. As a teen in the 90s I grew up on super unknown and bad motorfinger. I can remember people doubting audioslave when they first came out. I too reveled at the chance to see soundgarden when they reunited. I was a fan the whole time. Thanks for sharing this great video tribute to a true musical legend.

It’s so wonderful to see new generations discovering this soul searching, heart stopping, teeth gritting genre of music. Especially Soundgarden. Like yourself, I got to see them for the first time on May 7, 2017 in Memphis. Greatest show ever. I’ll always remember him and how I use to blow out my car speakers jamming Soundgarden’s Superunknown while driving to high school right after it came out. The 90’s rocked! Thanks for sharing this video. 🖤

Luckily, my mother raised me on good music. My first albums included Alice in Chains' and Metallica's self titled albums, along with a lot of hair metal, ska, blues, and various other rocknrolls. The first song I ever remember latching onto with a strong musical bond was Black Hole Sun. I remember being in Kindergarten and having that song stuck in my head. I have a vivid memory of singing it to myself on the bus out front of school. I am now a musician, nearly 30 years old, and although I've never been a huge Sound Garden fan, I am grateful for my encounter with them at such a young age. I'd like to think, especially now, that Black Hole Sun was one of the seeds that started blooming my profound affinity of music. My favorite thing of all time. Hopefully we can all enjoy Chris' energy in a different way now that he's not tied to his body, and we can always listen to his beautiful music that he gifted us with. I posted a cover of BHS. It in no way does the song justice, but it's the only thing I could do to express my appreciation.

Jake Bowen thank you. It really sucks missing musicians. They have such a profound impact on our lives, yet there's no way to repay them it seems. Luckily, as artists (you being a far greater one than me), we can utilize tools like UA-cam to pay tribute by offering our art to the public. I appreciate this video. It keeps him alive and reminds me to appreciate all that he, and all other musicians have given me. I can't imagine how devoid of purpose/substance my life would be without music.
Thanks again for the video, and listening to me.
