In an interview, these guys talked about how people are serious backstabbers in the industry, and this song is about how they wish the world was different. That something, or someone would come and destroy all the fake liars. That they, SoundGarden, were able to avoid that through, luck and tenacity. Good on them, love the song too!

Soundgarden way ahead of their time...this video makes perfect perfect sense the way the world is at the moment.
Come on, they were right on their time, they were artists. Artists knew what was happening and what was coming. As a matter of fact, people in that time understood and supported them, made them successful.

Chris cornell is the reason why I keep my head up. He helps me with my depression, I wish he didnt take his life 😢 the line that gets me is "in my youth I pray to keep" RIP chris...
"No one sings like you anymore..."
RIP Chris Cornell.
I was so upset when I heard the news this morning.
Soundgarden was a huge part of my teen years. I cried so hard when I found out that he died. Even more so by his own hand. Whatever it was that tormented him, I hope that he is finally at peace. Just so glad that I was at an age that I could really appreciate his music and voice. RIP Chris. Give Scott a hug for us.
FunnyVideoMaker77 my heart is breaking. I was in middle school when this came out. I feel like shooting in my room and just listening to all their albums. So sad, I hope he found peace.
I'm gonna fucking miss this guy. Soundgarden got me through some times. Same with audioslave. RIP.
But neither did he sing like anyone.
"In my youth, I pray to keep."
Damn. I remember seeing this on MTV back when I was 13. Now I'm 40 and those words hit harder now and it gets more true everyday.
Couldn’t agree more with that statement. All the songs hit way harder now.

This song with the eclipse goes hard
Real talk
Still a banger in April 9th 2024.
I feel like most people don't realize how insanely sad this song is, to be so fed up with everything fake and warped you wished it would all just get washed away. Chris did state this song lyrically was just him playing around with words, but imo you can feel that this song has a painful depth to it.
Yeah man tragically prophetic and it's not just him man, ini can totally relate
He didn't elaborate but i think he reached out indirectly to many people who felt what he sang about in this great masterpiece.
the meaning that the song carries for me is waiting for things to change. for anything to disrupt the melancholia and suicidality I'm faced with every day of being impoverished and houseless. the mundane yet tragic reality of the world being washed away by a black hole sun, leaving nothing to remain. this song is the call of the void for me, and that might be a strange thing to say, but this song perfectly encompasses every bit of pain that I've felt in my life, and the wish for all the evil and suffering in the world to be destroyed.
IM IN TEARS!!!, ITS SAd 😔.
I feel The pain.......We Miss you Chris.
Incredibly creative too!
My mom's favorite band was Soundgarden. Every day when we were in the car she'd be playing their music full blast.

In all my 17 years, I have never seen my dad cry harder than the morning after they pronounced Chris's death. This band was such a crucial part of his life growing up as well as mine. We were going to see Soundgarden perform in Dallas on the 27th, may Chris Cornell rest in Peace and be remembered forever and always
Damn....I hope you'll recover in a positive manner...good day to you.
This has affected me, more than I thought since I didn't listen to any of their albums but rather several songs in the last year before he passed. Some of these songs grew to be very powerful to me, they connected with me....in how I had been struggling through depression before, and so had my friend, who succumbed to her situation and committed suicide. Damnit....this is....crazy. It's simply wild that...this occurred.

I don’t know why but music videos from 90s - 2000s were so other worldly....
It's because they knew they were living at the end of an era, it's all an artistic interpretation of the times they lived through
@@sqidwrd4811 sounds about right, it’s crazy because while that was happening, new technology was being explored which led to a dying art style meet new possibilities
Gen X was a pretty jaded generation. We grow up in very uncertain time and although we had fun there was a lot of anxiety about the future. I think a lot of the music, videos and movies is just a product of what most of us felt at the time.
@@DUDERLOLZ interesting
@@lattedee2523 they were very poetic about their lyrics and experimented the most with alternative. Then Emo happened and alternative got ruined in my opinion. Now anything that’s “sad” or “edgy” is seen as alt and that was never supposed the point.

As the eclipse neared totality, the temperature dropped with the brightness of the sky, and the stars came out of hiding. At this point, I couldn’t control my shivering (should’ve worn something heavier than a hoodie lol).
Then it reached totality. With glasses on, you couldn’t see a thing, but with them off- my god it was astonishing! I was so immersed in the moment, what was 6 minutes of totality only felt like a couple minutes.
I‘ve never seen one before, only pictures. It looked exactly how I imagined, but it was different in a way I couldn’t imagine. It’s hard to describe with words, but it appeared as if the moon was wobbling ever so slightly whenever I moved my head, kinda like one of those moving pictures with the rivets that change when you look at it from a different angle, but much less dramatic.
As the total eclipse began to leave us, the sky of course lightened and the temperature spiked, so much so that I immediately stopped shivering and felt warm again, which felt very strange to me.
Overall had a great time watching the event unfold with my family, I will forever cherish the experience, 10/10!
@@SixWatt ahh. that sounds like so much fun and a lifetime experience! would love to experience that one day, atleast you got a good view :)
the moon wiggling sounds awesome to look at irl and not in a picture. optical illusions are so cool
Bedford, Indiana. 110% clear skies for 50 miles! Not a cloud anywhere. It was SPECTACULAR!. Shortest 4 minutes I've ever experienced. The most SURREAL thing that's ever happened without psychedelic drugs.
Sound garden, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Radio head, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains.....man!!! the 90s grunge is precious & unforgettable
Born in 1980, I said the same thing. Had the best of the best in the 80's/90's and wouldn't change a thing. Last great generation period.. PERIOD!
Stone Temple Pilots...
Born 2010, feel the way
@@ASDBC nice
radiohead only had one grunge album and it sucked
R.I.P Chris Cornell (1964 - 2017)
Fran Lezbreck 😢😢😢
Fran Lezbreck why? why must they leave so soon?!?
I can't believe he kill himself :/
Fran Lezbreck rip Chris cornell
heartbreaking
I remember listening to this in 2020.
Glad to see I'm not the only one blasting this during the eclipse lmao
Goosebumps delivering the nostalgia of the 90s music.
I came here for just the same reason 🤘
Same :)
Targeted towards us millennials. Such great songs so far on that series.
Yup
THROUGH THIS DISAPPEARING RAIN
Listening to this during the eclipse 🌑🔥
So I guess your watching/listening to this on April 8th 2024 which also means you seen the eclipse. Hell yeah bro. 😎
Its beautiful to see how many people go straight to putting on an artists songs after hearing of their passing. It's a personal message from each person of 'Thank you for what you have given me and I will not forget you."
Exactly what i was doing and thinking while going through these comments
gerbodis exactly its to honor them
gerbodis exactly, its comforting and also an honor to be able to still enjoy their creations even after passing. im getting chills, man.... i still cant believe cornells gone. Rest In Peace.
Now maybe the Titel "Black Hole Sun" makes much more sence. Depression is like a Black Hole. Even a Sun can't wash away the blackness in it
Don't forget Weiland.
RIP, Chris. "...No one sings like you anymore..."
One of the coolest and nicest comment about Chris I've seen. R.I.P Chris Cornell 💕
Truly an original.
Jeff Poirrier 😢
true
Dear Mr. Vedder, please cover yourself in bubble wrap. If you go, then RIP any semblance of decent music.
Eclipse 2024? Welcome to this masterpiece , take your shoes off at the door, stay awhile.
Watching during the 2024 Solar Eclipse. The drumming gives this song amazing feeling, plus the octave shifts in the vocals.
