@@TapticDigital Yes I did, Im using them right now for this Samsung A7 Tablet, i need to do a charging port replacement and I’m struggling so much trying to get it open. The screen is so thin so. I think ima try using a heat gun because the heating plate is a bit to small.
It sure would, though the USB is a little trickier since it is a through-hole soldering job. Basically you would heatgun from the underside of the port to remove it, clear the holes (if possible), and solder the new port in its place.
My series s stopped gaming at 120 and now does 60. I have a Asus avg248 monitor 155hz. The monitor says your TV does not support 120 4k but it did until it now
Most shops will charge between $150-$200 for HDMI replacement. Sometimes you can get lucky and find them as low as $100 but you also run into the “get what you pay for” risk
You do have to attach the pins with solder. I don't recommend trying this without an iron, but it is possible to hold heat on it, remove original port, keep heat on it, press new port into place making sure your pins are touching (this has to be done FAST) and remove the heat. Only risk is you pretty much get one shot to connect all the pins, if one just doesn't decide to stick, you'd need a soldering iron to press it down.
Not on something like this, it requires heat over 420C (800f) from a heatgun to melt the solder. In theory you could use just an iron, loosening it pin by pin, but it would be incredibly risky and more likely to damage the board and tear wire traces out.
It's called flux, it helps solder flow where it needs to go without bridging or smearing. Unfortunately I don't offer mail-in repairs at this time, check some local shops for good reviews.
Hey I need help with an Xbox series s my Ethernet port is messed up it keep showing as is connected when it's not I'm not sure if it is the port or the network card and advise
That's a really strange one, it would be caused by a short on the board. Liquid damage sounds pretty likely, but it could be something that a good cleaning would fix. It's worth taking it apart and checking it out, if you feel comfortable. Otherwise look into some local phone and computer repair shops!

Ben is my Favorite tool!
Probably my heat plate or my metal jimmy/pry tool
@@thunderbyetronics did you get those plastic cards? They making opening stuff so easy, but I keep melting them 😭

dude, you are the jerry rig everything for repair. Thumbs up for that!
Big thumbs up for that! 😉 Also great channel, I'm subscribed!
@@TapticDigital thanks man! Yeah I watched a couple of your videos, I'm highly impressed. Great job man!
Now I know i dont want to do this myself. Thanks for the insight. Ill be looking for a local shop.
Definitely wouldn’t recommend it for beginners! Better to be safe than sorry!
What temp is your soldering iron? Thank you for the very educational video!
I usually run about 450C on my iron, and about 420 on the hot air.
I think this is the video I needed!! My front usb broke from a fall it took. Would the process be the same?

Can you fix my HDMI port on my Sirius ES
What’s the cost?

What type of solder did you use for the micro pins?
Just some rosin-core leaded solder, any brand will do
Do you have to solder the hdmi port back down? I have a heat gun but no solding iron.

Is it possible to substitute the heat gun for a blow dryer or do it without a heat gun at all using only a soldering iron?

What’s the hot air station you use for de soldering the port?
I use a Quick 861DW, it's a bit overkill but any hot air station that can reach a stable 450C should be plenty for this kind of work

Do I have to put the foam pad back
It’s technically conductive foam used for grounding, but it definitely isn’t necessary.

It'll need to be a torx security screwdriver, it will have a hole in the top but otherwise look like a normal torx screwdriver
