  • Language challenge between a Swedish guy and a Danish girl. We try to guess the person through me describing in Swedish and her describing in Danish. There are subtitles in Danish and Swedish with English translation. The languages are sometimes very similar and sometimes very different. We filmed this in Copenhagen. We had so much fun. This is our fourth language challenge video together, always with many laughs.

    My channel is packed with Swedish tutorials and language challenges where you can learn everything from nouns and verbs to grammar and special Swedish words. I also talk about places in Sweden and where you as a tourist can visit. I have made youtube videos for over 10 years and 10 Swedish Words started with me explaining 10 Swedish words that don't exist in English. You can also find videos about Norse Mythology, my deep-talk series Good Talk (which now has its own channel) and other info about Sweden and Swedish culture.

    And a good example on, that Danes and Sweds CAN understand the majority of each others languages, if we have the will to listen carefully and speak slow. A lot of Danes knows Swedish words that differs from Danish, guess the same goes for Sweds, which obviously helps.

      I think Martin has a leg up in understanding Danish since he's from Malmö. Swedish speakers from other parts of the country may find it harder to understand Danish, especially spoken Danish.

    it's cool that you brought "hen" up. it's a really useful Swedish word especially in situations like this.
    my father tongue doesn't distinguish her & him either. quite practical.
    For those who are wondering, "hen" can mean henne/honom/hon/han.
    the idea came from Finnish "hän" (pronounced like Danish "han").
    Finnish, just as numerous other languages in the world, does not distinguish her/him.
    it's quite an interesting coincidence that Swedish is Finland's second official language, and that Finnish "hän" is similar to Swedish "hen" (she) and "han" (he).

    • @bulleranse8323

      Det hun taler er IKKE københavnsk i traditionel forstand - hendes danske er meget pænere. (Det er vel næsten mere rigsdansk end det er noget andet)

    • @jatojo
      @jatojo 4 роки тому +1

      Buller Anse Man skal passe på med betegnelsen rigsdansk, da dansk har udviklet sig meget inden for få årtier og tales på en noget anden måde end for bare en generation siden. Tendensen er at dialekterne bliver mindre markante, men jeg vil mene, at hun er fra hovedstadsområdet eller har forældre der er det. En jyde ville tale en smule anderledes.

    • @omega1231
      @omega1231 4 роки тому +1

      Det er da forkert at sige at tale med "københavnsk" dialekt (der er forskellige københavnske dialekter, dog er højkøbenhavnsk stort set uddød) er at tale uden dialekt. Der er ingen der taler rigsdansk, udover dronningen, det er i dag et skriftsprog ligesom bokmål på Norsk.
      Hun kommer højst sandsynligt fra nordsjælland, der taler noget mere grammatisk korrekt end københavnere, eftersom den københavnske dialekt er overvældende lavkøbenhavnsk, dvs. en arbejderklasse dialekt. Idéen om at københavnere taler uden dialekt kan kun komme fra det faktum at de købehavnske dialekter har præget alle andre dialekter siden københavn blev det kulturelle og kommercielle centrum i Danmark, derfor tror man at de taler uden dialekt, men der er ingen der taler uden dialekt i Danmark, dialekterne har bare ændret sig.

    • @jatojo
      @jatojo 4 роки тому +1

      omega1231 Nu skal man jo så lige huske på at når vi her bruger betegnelsen dialekt, så er det ikke i ordets egentlige betydning, for til en rigtig dialekt hører et særegent ordforråd, og det er der stort set intet af i hovedstadsområdet. Men når vi holder os til udtale, så er det nok i høj grad også noget socialt bestemt, hvor fx en akademiker i Albertslund taler dialektsvagt, mens en ufaglært i samme by taler udpræget vestegnsdansk. "Nordsjællandsk" er drilsk, fordi indbyggernes baggrund er så blandet - det er i hvert fald ikke holtedansk der tales i videoen! 😊
