This track has one of my all time favorite “intros” ever. A slight and quiet but yet so telling and powerful emotion in the form of a simple Sigh in a still frame of blackness. A telling sign “sigh” of the pent up frustration, Anger & Sadness that’s about to explode in a ferocious manner that is Slaughter To Prevail. Especially considering the lyrical content. Than slamming into an absolutely crushing stomping rhythm that gives you a straight shot of adrenaline making you literally wanting to get up and start thrashing around right alongside with the Terrible one himself. The energy, groove, technicality, passion & intensity just jumps out the screen. And the video is one of my favorite videos from the Demolishing STP. See what I did there, “Demolishing” “Demolisher?” Ok enough of giving myself creative credit back to the Video. Some of my favorite if not my favorite videos are just the band in a room/setting performing the song. Plus the energy they exude is just as contagious as the song. The editing & lighting was brilliant they really capture the intensity of the band and the song. And I absolutely loved how they switched to black and white during an almost east coast hardcore chorus sound in the likes of bands like Hatebreed. I’m not if that was intentional but if it was they nailed it. If this doesn’t get your blood going you might want to check your pulse. I’ve said it before but I’ve heard hundreds of vocalist in the metal genre but never have I heard or see anything like Alex Terrible. The versatility in his vocal abilities is truly jaw dropping. He’s well know for his unbelievable deep guttural vocals but it’s very clear he has much more to offer. And his charisma just flys out the screen he makes you want to hang out with him, drink a beer/vodka,listen to music, shoot machine guns & wrestles Bears. He’s definitely one of if not they best metal vocalist/frontman there is right now. And all with Jack Simmons, Evgeny Noviko, Mike Petrov & Dimitry Mamedov who are all very noticeably skilled players that seem to get into a room and push each others boundaries in what’s capable of their sound which is on full display with 1984. Slaughter To Prevail is without question one of the most exciting bands in metal right now and the sky is the limit to what they can achieve. GAME OVER!

Alex and the rest of the band have to be one of my favorites of all time. The drummer, Alex, the guitar, the bass just EVERYTHING is always goin crazy and out of control and I just love it!!! LFG!!!!🤘🏻😈

Love to see stuff like this. I believe I had almost the same reaction this guy had. Utterly blown away by the overall badass performance these dudes put on. I jam the tracks in the car on the way to work or the gym, but this particular song from that show they did gets me hype as fuck and have watched it way too many times.

One thing I don't see people point out and maybe it's just a coincidence, but in the book, 1984, they describe the ominous stare of Big Brother,
"The hypnotic eyes gazed into his own. It was as though some huge force were pressing down upon you-something that penetrated inside your skull, battering against your brain, frightening you out of your beliefs, persuading you, almost, to deny the evidence of your senses."
And as Alex says "ascend adaption" and "1984" it's almost like an homage to that image - the camera even zooms into his eyes.
Wasn’t sure if Alex was referencing George Orwells 1984, the Cold War or the current situation. Or maybe all of the above
@@dmusiclife5727 super chilled! I just thought I mention it anyway because I think that shot with his eyes stood out to a lot of people, including myself and I think he might've done that for more than just aesthetic reasons.

Since the first days of war in Ukraine the band was protesting it, protesting the actions of russian government. 1984 - a direct reference to Orwell - is a description of conditions that Russians are stuck into for the last six months, where protesting against war and calling for peace can lead to prison sentences of from 3 to 10 years, where it is illegal to call this war a war. Moreover, russian government describes this war as "freeing Ukraine" - yep, freeing people by killing them. So, for the last six months Russians live in an Orwellian reality. That's what the song is about.
