Ik i get hated on that BUT i actually understand why the mother was reacting like this. If its right or not, i dont want to judge. They were all raised on other philosophies. My mom was a lot older when she had me and she's never in my life had a wrong word to say about trans people. Before she understood it, she simply said it wasn't her life or her business and I was to treat people the way I'd want to be treated if it were me. Now she does all she can to learn about it and understand it more so she can address the passel of morons out there who didn't even pass high school science but insist on bleating on about how the science of transgenderism is wrong. And we don't even have any transgendered people in our family.

There's no way to resolve this, except for her to move out once she turns 18, although the parents can't be forced to support her financially afterwards. The father won't budge an inch on this, and the mother's badly conflicted but disapproving basically. This is just impossible.

A loving mother wouldn't tell their child to kill themselves. A loving mother would educate herself about transgender people. ANd don't be afraid to ask their child questions about it. And how they are feeling and thinking about themselves. Trying to figure out who you are is hard. Not having support from parents makes it much harder.
