Man bitten by a shark off coast of Anna Maria Island

Over the weekend, a man was injured after being bitten by a shark off the coast of Anna Maria Island north of Bean Point. West Manatee Fire Rescue said the man, 22, was bitten in the leg and taken to a local hospital. The Manatee County Marine Patrol was responding to a boat collision on Sunday when deputies came across the man who was injured by a shark on another boat.

See sharks all the time around Anna Maria and Longboat Key,a few years ago a bull shark bit a young man close to that area

I came here because yesterday me n my family was swimming at Ana Maria Island Beach and me and my wife was out there kind of far and everybody else and my little girl was crying behind us because she said she seen two sharks behind us. We swim so fast and everybody scared to get in the water now I didn’t see anything though. I didn’t notice the water was warm and I didn’t notice those seagulls was diving in a water for birds close to us.

The frequent shark attacks in various parts of the world are truly worrisome.
