    your videos are so well thought out. i appreciate how you preface the products you list with your skin type and the cause of your acne. we have similar skin types, so i really love that you made the point that the products still may not work on my skin. skin type is something that’s easy to overlook when you’re looking for recommendations online, so i really love how open you are!

    You are my favourite beauty influencer. When I need a new product like blush, bronzer or foundation, I always check out your youtube channel or tiktok to see your recommendations. I trust you so much because we have the same skin type and skin tone. I love your channel so much, thank you for being a representation for the girlies who have acne prone skin. I appreciate how you give so much detail on each product and how you don't influence your viewers by jumping on trending products and immediately influencing us to purchase. Thank you for teaching us to be mindful with our beauty purchases.

      Thank you for watching. 🥰 You could try a cleansing oil to gently remove flaky skin and a hydrating primer before making. But that’s the best I got though, I wish I could help more!

      That's very much so a skin prep issue. Either from too little or too much. If it's too much it's because you have too many layers and it's starting to peel. Not to mention none of it is getting to your skin since it's just sitting on top.
      If it's too little, I'm guessing the flaking is caused by 1) not exfoliating prior to application either use a chemical one the night before or a physical one the day of. Try The Ordinary's Skin Barrier serum (be care ful because it's pink and makes the skin look pink) along with a good moisturizer. And let that sit before following with a moisturizing primer or just a thin/gel moisturizer.

    Love this video (and that someone else knows about the Hanhoo patches)! Here's some more tips from another acne prone, oily (and brown skinned if that helps anyone) girl:
    Color correct dark spots and redness to reduce the need for concealer.
    Use THIN layers of product. You need less than you think.
    Figure out what ingredients and/or claims do NOT work for you and avoid them. Stick to what works.
    Find soft brushes!! The abrasive hairs can aggravate your skin.

    OMG i love that Huda color corrector too because it comes in a dark pink shade for me which has been really nice lately because orange has just been looking orange on me lately.
    As for holy grails, first one is the _Artista Fine Brush Tip eyeliner_ from AOA in all of their shades. It just works especially as someone with more creasy eyelids, the brush tip doesn't skip like felt tips do.
    Next one is the _NYX Fat Lip Oil_ its just my absolute favorite, well tinted even with my darker lip and always compliments whatever lip color i have underneath. I have it in 3 shades and im running out of 2 so i use it often.
    _Fenty Heat Gloss_ specifically in the shade Hot Chocolit. The best neutral brown gloss that honestly saves a lot of my lipsticks when I'm not vibing with it.
    And lastly the _aboutface Performer Foundation_ because it has true olive undertones for all and she just wears really nice, very skin like and lasts for however long i need it to even on the 100°+ days.

    I used to have hormonal acne and the contraceptive pill got rid of it, when I was on it I never got a single breakout. I have been on it for over 10 years and have not had any acne since.... I know some people don't like it or get side effects, but I think I was one of the lucky people who got zero side effects. I loved that DHC cleansing oil, SKIN 1004 sunscreen and also the MUFE powder foundation which I use to retouch makeup. The Muji cleansing oil is also similar and pretty good, and there are other similar korean sunscreens to skin2004, like the haru haru chemical one, scinic, round lab and beauty of joseon worth trying

    • @ellerchu
      @ellerchu  3 місяці тому

      I find that I still get acne with the pill, but it’s definitely not as bad. Maybe I’ll try the Muji cleansing oil one day!

    • @lavayuki
      @lavayuki 3 місяці тому

      @@ellerchu It depends on the pill, it's mostly the anti androgen ones like yasmin and yaz etc that work better than the pro-androgenic ones which actually cause acne. Might be worth asking your doctor about it

    That’s crazy I’ve tried all the skin care products you’ve mentioned except the same pimple patch brand and sunscreen. My all time holy grail is panoxyl benzoyl peroxide 4% (I do tend to use it almost every day).
    The dhc oil tried it years ago, but didn’t like the texture. I just finished a garnier micellar water and decided to try a balm for the first time, idk how I feel about it yet. I just repurchased cetaphil, had tried it a few years ago, had just finished a la roche-posay cleanser and it wasn’t as gentle as cetaphil. My skin has never agreed with salicylic acid, it always makes me break out, I’ve even tried waiting the “pruning” period but it just kept getting worse so now I just use Paula’s choice on my nose occasionally. My only other HGs are the Mary and May/skinmiso nose masks and lanbena mask, but I still struggle with black heads/sebaceous filaments . When my skin is dry the dermal sheet masks. I have combo skin
    I’ll check out the primer thanks

    • @ellerchu
      @ellerchu  3 місяці тому +1

      Does your skin ever feel sensitive with 4% panoxyl everyday? Also do you use it morning and night?
      Thanks for sharing your experience with us!

    • @MakeupCleaningAndCats
      @MakeupCleaningAndCats 3 місяці тому

      @@ellerchu Thanks for reading my long comment and replying lol. So I bought a gentle cleanser (la roche-posey) to swap between them, but I ended up using both every day. I actually found that the other cleanser made my skin sting instead of panoxyl. I did use the 10% cleanser when I was younger and that for sure did burn my skin, but it still helped so much so I would still use it . I think this 4% one is newerish. I wash my face with cleanser at night in the shower, and in the mornings I just rinse with water and apply sunscreen. I probably would not use panoxyl in the mornings due to the sun. I found my skin preferred benzoyl peroxide through proactiv lol. The bp creams tend to be super strong too, so I’m glad I found this cleanser

    If I use Benzoyl peroxide less than 5 days a week my face explodes soon after that. Its unfortunate because it is irritating if you use it daily or close to daily. This year I started using a leave on micronized 2.5% every morning, and that turned out to be too irritating (but very effective) so slowly ive landed on washing my face in the mornings 6 times a week with again a micronized 4%-5% face wash (leaving it on for a few minutes and rinsing) and adapalene gel at night most nights. It controls the problem pretty well so far. Crossing my fingers!
    But yeah using this stuff makes my skin get super irritated if I sweat too much under sunlight, and dry up in very cold dry weather. Cant stop though.
