    SI has a better interior and it has a sunroof. R is faster but that's useless for most ppl who just drive to work and grocery store everyday. The spoiler on the R feels a little gaudy not to mention the bright red seats plus no sunroof. Performance the R wins but for a more sensible looking "sport" option I'd take the civic

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  5 днів тому

      I can see that. The R is for people who are going to the track, spirited mountain drives or AutoX events. Si does a good job being a sporty daily. However Type-R holds incredible value. So it will probably cost more money to own the Si

    I upgraded from si to type r. Just 100% worth it if yoou can swing it. The si is really good. The type R is better in every way. I do think it would be better than just modding an si for another 100hp, too. There's more to it than just power. I don't know that you could mod an si with the 15k or so difference to be better than the type r. Equal to maybe but then there's the fact that a type r comes warranted like that and wouldn't have a drastic lowered reliability durability that the si would then hypothetically have.

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  7 днів тому +1

      Yeah I agree. Anyone putting $15k into the Si should just get a Type-R. Sure it will be fast. But speed isnt everything especially in a FWD platform. Also the Type-R holds really good value. A modified Si will be worth the same as a stock one. Stock for stock both are really good at their price tags

    4.9 sec. That is generous. And under near perfect conditions.
    But these are different cars. They just happen to both be called a Civic. I think they only share the front doors, windows, and a few other things. The jump in difference is probably the widest than any other brand. An M3 is probably closer to a mid-level 3 series than these two. Yes, the $15k is worth the premium for the Type R over the Si. The 1.5T was made to please CAFE, not the performance enthusiast.
    The SI deserved a better powertrain focused in performance and not MPG.
    The problem with this powertrain is the low ceiling it has in terms of performance.
    A simple tune might toast your clutch, an upgrade that is very expensive on this platform.
    To reach stock CTR power, you need FBO and a turbo upgrade. Once you get close to 300whp, you are at the limit of the stock internals.
    At this lever, every day that the car lasts without blowing the engine is a blessing.
    Contrary to the K20C1, it can reach over 500whp on the stock clutch and engine.
