My Heart Is Broken for this momma and for his daddy. I have 3 teenagers, one of them is 14. I am scared every single day they leave my side for school. I talk to them constantly about the dangers of drugs. I pray so much it soaks in. God bless this family.

My 22 year old nephew was murdered with fentanyl this month!!! It is murder because the majority of people that die from it don’t even know what they are getting!!! Rest In Peace my nephew Evan, Lil Peep and all these young people gone too soon, words can’t even describe the pain!!!

There's an epidemic of drug overdoses amongst middle class and upper middle class youth. They have lots of resources, few responsibilities, and have faced few consequences. Twelve step rooms are full of grieving mothers who've lost their children to this dynamic. It's really heartbreaking.

My deepest sympathy for your loss. I just lost my nephew to fentanyl poisoning 2 days ago. The feeling is so surreal. I have to snap back to reality several times a day. My sister of course is devastated. Millions of parents and family members are going through this same thing. It must be addressed as covid was. This is far more dangerous in my opinion. THIS is the pandemic.!!!

At least 75 per-cent of opiate addicts are also opiate drug dealers. A drug dealer is not just someone who sells pounds of drugs it's also addicts who sell a few pills here and there for a little more than they buy them for so they can get high for free. Your son definitely sold opiates in one form or another to somebody so if he would have sold a pill that killed someone else would you be in favor of your son getting life in prison or something

My heart breaks for her. We have to make it known to our kids that nowadays, one pill can kill you. I know the holidays are hard on her and I pray that she and husband can find peace.
My son had an accidentally overdose on August 25th he was dead for 8 minutes but thankfully they brought him back. I am so sorry for your loss. But narcan does not work on horse tranquilizers and fentanyl and xanax they gave him 5 narcans they had to put a tube down his nose to bring him back so please be careful. Prayers for your family

My son was found twice dead, got revived. Thank you God! Doctors said he would be brain dead both times!!! - Not with my God , I said!!!🙏🏼Parents please discuss with your children that there’s fake drugs. They are not giving our kids a “ sleeping” or get “up” pill etc....I’m blessed that my son is alive and normal at 22. I truly hope he learned his lesson.Jesus name. No wonder your child is overdosing smh. You wanna say there’s fake drugs and that’s the problem? Nah the problem was your child wanted to take drugs in the first place and you allowed it. No drugs are safe. No such thing as fake drugs. People know they’re taking fentanyl when they take it, it gives you different symptoms and a different high. People aren’t being poisoned. They’re just overdosing bc street drugs are never safe. Don’t be so fucking stupid. I feel really sorry for your kid because they clearly never had a chance in life and that’s why they’re going through what they are. No one intelligent to lean on. Sad

Thank goodness she has strength to come out this as an advocate for other families, other moms, other angels - he had so much life not even understood of his possibilities to encounter had it not been for this tragedy. @@HOLZMANTV WRONG , im 19 and have been smoking for years and have only ever smoked marijuana. i have a 4.0 gpa. it depends on the person . nobody ever talks about alcohol though lets start talking about alcohol that ruins families , that gets people killed everyday on the road in drunk driving accidents. when do people die from marijuana ? marijuana has only ever helped me , so like i said, depends on the person and that persons own choice of action.
She did say it can be for some but not all.
It's important for folks to know that even if opiates are not in someone's system, it's okay to administer Narcan/naloxone - it does no harm if you give it to someone who doesn't necessarily need it. Better to be safe than sorry.

Absolutely horrific tragedy. It’s crazy how there are people who really don’t get it when you tell them that stuff is scary dangerous. It has nothing to do with being tough or experienced, it is biology. It suppresses your natural ability to breathe, getting critical oxygen into your body. I don’t know if people hear that and ignore it or it doesn’t sink in but damn, this is depressing that it keeps happening. Please let it sink in what she said, it CAN happen to you.

Poor woman, poor family, ignore what people say, people say stupidities because they do not know better and they like to listen to their own voices, carry with your life, the pain of loose a child does not really go away never, I know that myself, but you learn to be live with it, you carry on with you live and work for better understanding of this kind of drugs.

Yes unfortunately age is nothing but a number . I’m currently in outpatient rehab and a lot of the people I see coming in are middle age 55 and up . At least there acknowledging they have a problem and want help ❤

I’ve been watching videos of fentanyl overdoses- and a lot of the moms have said the same thing she did. That they do everything they can to track them and protect them- then they think everything is better and then it happens

My 16 year old grandson was caught vaping pot ( I didn’t know you could vape pot ) his mother discovered eye drops in his backpack took pictures of what she found and informed him that they we’re going to have a talk but did not tell him about what. He threw away the eye drops because he kinda knew what she was going to talk about she told him that she isn’t stupid and took pictures of what she found so he wasted his time getting rid of evidence what tipped her off was he would send her weird text messages one time about doughnuts he wanted doughnuts and she was thinking why would he want so many doughnuts there were other weird phone calls and messages my daughter knows her kids very well she made it a priority to know them because she knew exactly how kids think from the people she hung out with in high school. She didn’t do drugs but she admitted she tried pot and didn’t like it she also tried drinking but didn’t like that either she also was the only one of her girl friends who didn’t have kids at 16….17 ETC….She was in her early 30’s when she had my grandson no she’s not perfect and I’m not in denial i really never had a problem with her and she was and still is very respectful to me. So with everything she saw in her friends what they did it made her really pay attention to her own kids so they wouldn’t become a drug addict or something worse she grounded my grandson he is a good kid and she kinda expected that he would try something but she told him that if he wanted to try something like that she would rather he try it at home where if anything happened something could be done because let’s face it a kid is going to try something at least once because they are not perfect and they want to fit in which definitely isn’t the reason to try anything but it happens unfortunately.

It’s not though. They prescribe it for medical issues. I live in Colorado and plenty of people use it responsibly. The “weed is a gateway drug” was used in the war on drugs government speeches in the 80s which was a massive failure because prohibitions don’t work. Ever wonder why alcohol which causes fatal accidents and has the most addicts addicted to it isn’t demonized by the government? Because the lawmakers consume it! Because the alcohol industry generates billions in tax revenue yearly and huge alcohol (and tobacco) companies donate millions to political campaigns.

I’m not sure how you get the message to kids that you can’t even experiment with this junk that’s on the street. What I do know is that you’ve got to be 100% honest, no drama.
When I was a teen, we watched “That’s Why They Call It Dope” in health class. This featured Jack Webb from Dragnet. A nerdy kid takes a few hits off a joint, immediately progresses to heroin, robs businesses, and ends up permanently psychotic and institutionalized.
Who would believe that cr@p? We didn’t then; kids wouldn’t now. And the stakes are higher now than they were in the early 70s.
Be truthful. You can’t scare someone straight with melodrama when the fentanyl crisis itself is deadly enough.
Every family needs to have narcan on hand in a lock box and if we never need it then that's great but if u need it and not have it is not acceptable in this day and age where it can be given to every family with teens and addicts
It’s very sad. However, NOBODY is forcing all these people to take drugs. What’s sad, as well, are the people who HONESTLY NEED a STRONG painkiller, and TAKE IT RESPONSIBLY. The Government, and the FDA is NOT supposed to be coming into our homes, babysitting. So, irresponsible people are taking away the ability for a patient who again, NEEDS pain control. I personally call that reprehensible to make a REAL PATIENT suffer, because BOTH Adults, and kids, are EXPERIMENTING to get HIGH from NEEDED medications, by REAL PATIENTS. I mean no disrespect to those that have lost loved ones from IRRESPONSIBLE BEHAVIOR. I wonder, however, do any of them know how much all of this big brother government control, is honestly hurting the patients who need medication, and can no longer receive, due to the ones wanting to get high??
