This is by far my favorite designed tiny house I've seen yet, I would personally make it like 500-600 sq ft, so I could maybe add an extra room for like a computer and stuff along that line, but overall 100/10 absolutely beautiful
I love your camera person on this one. More professionally done than some I’ve seen on any channel. They touched on money but he never said how much that particular house cost to build.
Thanks Alexis and Christian for bringing another perspective to ‘tiny’. As the guys from Nanostead stated, all homes need the basic components-kitchen, bathroom, sleeping, entertainment, as well as the electrical and plumbing hookups. And the way those are interpreted does effect price. Thanks again, I really enjoyed this one! I have thought about putting an ADU in my son’s backyard. 😊
So happy to share! We’ve been big fans of these guys for a long time. Love their down to earth perspective and thoughtfulness with all their builds. 😊 Excited to hear about your son’s potential ADU!
You guys are truly inspirational! As a single woman with no kids and no partner to help me out in life I rely on myself only! I live paycheck to paycheck which sucks but seeing tiny homes gives me hope. I love watching all the designs and ideas and have made it my goal to see myself in my own tiny home! I appreciate the reference to customization at the end because I like their concepts and principles but would prefer a larger bathroom and living area.
You guys designed a very beautiful small house model and the exterior amenities are very outstanding. Reusing old tile floors is very good and overall harmonious.

I love all the windows and the exterior colors. They did a great job. I love the brick patio. I expected the kitchen appliances to be bigger but I understand that it's not meant for full living. I love the barn doors and the river rock in the washroom.
I would expand this square footage to 850-1000 square feet and just build a real little house since this layout cost close to what a regular house would cost
yes it's all going as planned you will own nothing and like it you can live in the new "" Smart Cities "" so they can CONTROL everything you say do and watch, why do you think home prices are through the roof all farm land being bought up car and other prices are going through the roof the Guberment buying up massive amounts of land???? think about that it's all just my opinion I need to go buy some more tinfoil so stop and think
Anything under 500 SQFT is considered a tiny home 😁. This one is 16ft x 24ft which puts it at 384 SQFT so it counts! It definitely seems bigger because of the ceiling height and all the great windows and this one is on a foundation so there are lots of additional permitting costs to consider
It’s a gorgeous little place- no doubt about it- and perfectly suited as an office/ guest house. Honestly, though, I think it’d be a stretch for even one person to be able to live there full time.
It's a good looking, fun ADU. I really like the materials used. Kitchen looks cool. Love the cabinetry. Probably would change 2 things: room for a full size fridge / freezer combo and I'd like somewhere to put a desk for a work from home setup / media setup.
This is an exceptional home! Love the patio, the light coming in, and the downstairs bedroom. The builders are very honest, humble, talented, and really focus on creating a substantial, lovely home.
Well, if a tiny house cause the same amount of money as an average house then just get an average house. I am 100% pro tiny house but when the prices starts getting ridiculous… it’s time to go back to normalcy.
Perhaps that is why they are also offering the manuals that come with the code-compliant shells that they sell. They said it's an affordable alternative because you are your own contractor since you have the directions included. Idk Also, there are people who have the money to build a beautiful unit in their backyard for the occasional friend or family members who stop in. I've seen plenty of affordable tiny homes on these channels, but as always, most are DIYs.
The square foot cost may be the same as a larger house, but you have to keep in mind, with a tiny, or small house, there are alot less square feet... $200 per sqft x 2000sqft, is alot more than $350 x 350sqft.....
That silver appliance, on the far right, under the kitchen counters, is a fridge. Not big enough for me personally.. but none the less, still a fridge. 🤷
I really like tjis design. I would want a bit more space to be able to paint, for books, a stereo, plus need more kitchen storage as I love to cook. Bigger bedroom closet - especially for those of us in Northern climates. Overall design is well thought out
I think for those living tiny you go back to seasonal closets. Packing the summer and winter clothes away when not in season. As opposed to all clothes being out. But I get everything else. I just posted I need a tiny house with room to paint, draw, craft, make art glass, my stereo and record player as well as a place to grow a garden of food and a kitchen to cook it in. Plus the tools for both. Oh my….
LOVE THIS. Thank you. I'm so confused about how big it really is. Does anyone have a bird's eye view? The two bedrooms remind me of a magic trick and I can't figure it out.
The ADU's main house is beautiful, massive. 😍 I really like the work these guys are doing. Their custom work 1:40 is totally something I could imagine as a second home in the woods. 👍
They didn't claim that it was a movable tiny. They also mentioned the owners use it mostly as an office space and for short term stays when family is visiting so no need for a fridge that cuts into counter space.
This looks a lot bigger than a tinyhouse. I'd be convinced if it was already a regular house considering it's its a lot bigger than what most people with studio apartments are used to living in.
love their work, nice idea to keep the old brick for a patio goes nicley with both home's . I love their way of thinking when it comes to constructing these homes as well as their own homes. nicley laid out.

I love the abundance of windows and could envision adding more. The blinds chosen by the owners are wonderful and allow for varying amounts of privacy and light. I mostly liked the kitchen/living room layout but would use my choice of appliances and finishes. (Interestingly, I would have chosen the same cabinets but with walnut countertops and copper hardware/fixtures) I would place the bathroom on the other wall to simplify the plumbing layout and because I hate the “shelf” ceiling over the bathroom. I don’t like the barn door style and prefer pocket doors. The orientation would change to utilize that fantastic roof for solar panels necessitating a larger mechanical room. I hadn’t figured out how to accommodate my “library” and hydroponics but I think even that is doable. I think the one item I want that would be a challenge from a code perspective is a recirculating shower. I’ve saved this video in my collection of future home ideas.
Heating bathroom floor we have that in every apartment in our building nobody uses it you would have triple the electric bill if you do they don’t tell you that
Lack of dishwasher was a design mistake, IMO. From what I understand, they are more efficient and sanitize better than handwashing. It feels like overkill sometimes, but it's more function than luxury. I'd remove one of those cabinets or just redesign the space to fit a freezer/fridge and dishwasher.
Great idea! Keep in mind that this space is used primarily as an office and occasional guest house, so the occupants aren't washing too many dishes. Thankfully these are custom built so you can add that feature into your own personalized design!
Most basements are probably just for storing stuff people don't really need or use. Can always add more outside space. If there's an actual use, I'd be for a basement. All new materials with a nice design, but not toxin, import, or sustainable in most cases. If you use vinyl, no real way to get fresh air, and all new, I would love to see you match materials too.
if it hade the same amount of plumbing as a 2000 SQ FT home it would be mostly plumbing! it's all becoming a scam a 2000 SQ FT home will use (just numbers here so not actual numbers) 300 2X4s and a tiny home uses 100 2X4s so right there tells you a lot about cost which one will cost more the 100 boards or the 300 boards? or because it will be used in a tiny home will the cost of lumber suddenly double or triple???
Understandable why it seems that way. 🤔 What they are saying is that the quality and volume of pipes per room are same plumbing-wise. If a 2000 SQFT home was a 2 bedroom/1 bath, it would still have only one bathroom to be plumbed and one kitchen, same as this one at 384 SQFT. The comparison they are making is that a home ( regardless of size) especially on a foundation built to current code, requires all of the same elements ( insulation, roofing, windows) as a larger home if built to the same quality level. It also requires all of the same permitting fees and utilities run to the site of the build ( electrical, water, sewer, foundation etc). The "envelope" according to zoning and building code costs the same to permit regardless of size, so a lot of the cost goes there, not towards lumber so using SQFT pricing of traditional homes isn't comparable. It's an apples-to-oranges situation.

The no reason why tiny homes should be as much as a regular house no way
Get the foundation, framing, plumbing and electric done and then do everything else yourself.
What about a tiny home like that with a finished basement? The one thing I don't like about tiny homes is no basement.
Most basements are probably just for storing stuff people don't really need or use. Can always add more outside space. If there's an actual use, I'd be for a basement. I'd imagine it might double the cost of a tiny house, though, but I don't know the figures. Would make even more use of the footprint, though.
Having a heat pump water heater in an enclosed closet is not the best choice. It needs ventilation to be as efficient as possible.
