Scott tells Amber he lost his wife a couple of weeks before she went missing, and this would be his first Christmas without her.
On the day he said that to Amber he bought a secret boat no one knew about.
He also made five anchors, four of which were never recovered. The one that they did have, didn't match the cement in the driveway, which is where Scott said he'd used the rest of the missing cement, proven in court.
Laci didn't know about, nor had she ever been in the boat, yet, a couple of Lacis hairs were found, wound tightly in some pliers.
Agreed to take a lie detector test, but backed out after his father advised him not to.
Upon returning home, he immediately washed his clothes, ate, and took shower. After getting out of shower, instead of just calling Lacis cell phone one more time, he calls her mom and tells her Laci is missing.
He told, at least, three people he'd been playing golf, before finally sticking to the fishing story.
He said going fishing was a 'last minute decision' yet, he had already purchased a two day license dated for the 23rd & 24th. So, why lie about it being a last minute decision, when it was so obviously planned for?
When he took the detectives to his warehouse, he led them to believe the power was out, when the truth was, only his office in the warehouse had lighting, but the warehouse, itself, was only lit by a sky light during the day.
On the night of Dec 24th, the day Laci went missing, Scott was already inquiring about grief counceling for Lacis family. Really??? She's not even yet gone a full 24hrs! I've never heard of anyone doing that over someone being missing for only a few hours! It just seems like Scott knew she wasn't coming home.
The next day, Scott called the detectives asking them if they'd be bringing in and using cadaver dogs. She hadn't even been gone a full 24hours, and, he is inquiring about cadaver dogs! This was a huge red flag to the detectives working the case!
He sold Lacis car while still missing, before her body was found. And, inquired about selling their home before she was ever found too! He even wanted to sell it with all their furniture! Supposedly, he doesn't know if Laci is dead or alive, but has no problem selling her car and their home, with all their stuff in it?
He told lie after lie after lie. Of course the big, well known lie was when he called Amber during Lacis vigil. Right before, during, or after just doesn't matter, at all! His mistress should've been the last thing on his mind at any moment during that event.
When he did his Diane Sawyer interview, he was already refering to Laci in past tense. Another huge red flag!
It was well known he didn't want children, and wasn't thrilled about Laci being pregnate. Even telling his sister-in-law he was hoping for infertility. Laci telling her mom Scott wouldn't touch her belly to feel baby kicking.
He didn't participate in the searches for Laci, opting instead, to secretly go to the bay, park his car, and just watch the search that was going on in the bay.
Instead of showing grief about his wife being missing he, instead chose to flirt with his sisters baby sitter. Offering to make her a drink he called, "flirtinis". The baby sitter was so weirded out by Scott, she left!
In one of the recorded calls with Amber, Scott tells her that if the police find any evidence, he'd lose his freedom. Not a confession, but close enough!
When the due date, of the birth of his missing baby came around, he didn't have a gathering of friends & family to remember Laci & Conner. No, he didn't do anything at all to remember them. And, that would've been fine, if he chose to do nothing, no problem. But, he DID choose to do something. Since that day was also Ambers Bday, Scott chose to celebrate it, by hiding a bag of jewelry and a CD, etc for Amber to pick up. It seems it was Amber he wanted to remember & honor, not his missing wife & baby.
When a body of a baby washed ashore, and then a body of a woman who had been pregnant washed ashore shortly after, within just a couple of miles from where he says he was 'fishing', he never even called anyone about it to see if it was Laci.
About a week or so later, he was caught trying to flee with just about everything he owned, BUT his golf clubs and golf shoes. I add that he didn't have his clubs & shoes because Scott tried telling the cops that he was just going to play golf, not flee! However, the list of things he had with him is just as long, if not longer than my list here of the evidence!
I could go on & on! I know there's more, but I'm drawing a blank on the rest. Can anyone else think of anything I've forgotten?
Okay so, one or two things on this list would be maybe a coincidence. three or four things --- sketchy, but okay.
All these things plus more --- he's guilty, guilty, guilty! And, I don't even have it all listed here.

Your explanation is excellent. I do have one more thing to add.
He was interviewed in his home by a local tv news reporter. As she was interviewing him, and this is before Laci was found, the phone rang in his house and instead of answering it, he excused himself and shut off the phone.
      He DID NOT answer it.
      That says a whole lot.
It could have been news about Laci or Laci herself. That cinched it for me.
He also had a box or boxes of “missing” Laci posters that he was supposed to attach to trees or poles and they were found in the trunk of his car.

Laci left her phone number for Scott and he threw it away. That should have been the sign that he wasn't into her as much as she was into him.She told her mother she was going to marry Scott because he was everything she wanted, little did she know that her affections weren't returned by Scott. He should have refused if marriage wasn't his thing but I guess he loved all the female attention. He just didn't want to be a husband and a father.I wish Laci would have stopped when he threw away her number. She would have been alive and happy with someone else.Scott Peterson is a scum.

What a freak. I dated someone for a year who acted just like him. Between his good looks and his charming ways I was sucked in from the very beginning. However, I knew something was really off with him as time went on, but I had such an attachment to him that I really became blind to how extremely evil he really was. I would tell myself he didn't mean it or couldn't help it, because he really did act nice and kind at times. Which I'm sure is why Laci stayed with this person. It's very hard and confusing to escape from these types of people because their charm is very deceiving and they know exactly what to do and say to reel you back in. They lie about every single thing they possibly can. And when love is in the mix of course you want to believe them, and think that you can.
Thank God I was able to get away from the Narc that I was in a relationship with before something bad happened to me. Come to find out, before I dated my ex, he broke his ex girlfriend's hand and went to jail for it. I can't believe I dated someone for a whole year and had no clue that ever even happened. I only found that out after the relationship ended. Crazy you never know someones true colors until you're in too deep at times.
RIP to Laci and her baby. I hope people continue to bring awareness towards Narcissistic abuse/ Narcissistic Personality Disorder, Borderline Personality disorder and Antisocial Personality disorder/ Love Bombing/ Gas Lighting. I hope people continue to educate others on the signs of these abusive people and how to get away from these people as soon as they see the first sign of odd behavior. The sad truth is that the abuse only gets worse as time goes on.
Never ever ignore signs from someone who is acting off the very first time you see it. Run the other way. If you stay with them, your love for that person will only increase, which makes it that much harder to get away. But unfortunately their abuse only increases as time goes on as well. Which is a very dangerous and scary relationship because you really become blind to the abuse.

    • @tecx37
      @tecx37 6 років тому +20

Angluvslife Bhappy when my ex was a child he told me he was diagnosed with ODD oppositional defiant disorder, you can't get diagnosed as having a cluster B personality disorder until you're 18 or older I believe. His disorder got worse as he got older and he began to stop thinking that he needed treatment (from what I came to realize). Borderline personality disorder is related to "gas lighting" or otherwise known as projection, where the person with the disorder projects faults that that person has done and blames it on the other person instead of taking blame for their own actions. Meaning they are completely in denial when they are at fault for doing something wrong. They use it as a defense mechanism. People who have Borderline personality disorder are extremely sensitive and irritable, and fly off the handle if you make the slightest remark that triggers them in some way. It is like walking on egg shells in order to not set them off. They become extremely mad at the drop of a hat over things that the "normal" person would not take such offense to. They are over the top when it comes to their emotions. They essentially are unable to have a realistic grasp on their emotions. Their emotions control them they are unable to control their emotions. It's a sad disorder

You know what the weirdest thing about this is? When he gets home from "fishing" He notices the dog with the leash on in the yard...which is weird but the weirdest thing is he doesn't call Laci at that point. He calls and leaves a message on his way home about not being able to pick up the Christmas basket but once home, you see her car there, her purse, the dog in the yard but you instead...shower, wash clothes...eat some pizza then phone her mom???? The first person you would think to call is Laci. Leaving a message like hey just got home, your car is here, wanted to see where you are?? I mean that to me is so odd...yet there is no record of that call because...it never happened. Instead its almost like he's buying time...calls her, asks her mom if she is there...Sharon says no and he tells her she is missing. Still no calls after? I would be calling my husband or wife, like where are you?? I'm starting to worry etc. But nope. Nothing...he knew she wasn't gonna answer and he knew she wasn't coming home.

Laci should have been the first and most natural person he called especially since there was no note, also no gift basket ( that had to be picked up by 3) and no smell or evidence of cookies being baked - he told the cops that’s what Laci was planning on doing that afternoon even though two days earlier she told her mom not to bring over cookies because she had to watch her weight. Also she was eight months pregnant and he obviously did not stop to think that maybe she went into labor! How could he not? On top of so many other things!

Most abusers in relationships are narcissists or sociopaths. I would speculate that most abuse is psychological abuse which is hard to pin them down on. My brother-in-law was sneaking down from San Diego to my home in Modesto almost every weekend to see my very pregnant sister. She was about to give birth (March 31, 1999)and he didn't want to miss it. He was on probation and not allowed to leave San Diego county at the time. We didn't have cell phones, just my landline and he made a lot of calls from my home phone when he was there. Including to his brother who was in Corcoran at the time. This was at a time when lots of people from Modesto were being swept up and put in jail on a parole hold and being investigated while they were investigating the missing "Yosemite sightseers". After he snuck back home to San Diego one of those weekends, he called us and said he got busted for being in Modesto. He said his PO called him in immediately and there were Federal agents waiting for him there to ask him who he gave a ride to while in Modesto. They told him that they heard every word that he spoke while using my phone in Modesto and they didn't care about everything he said to his brother in prison. They just wanted to know who he picked up and where did he take him. My head almost exploded when he told me that. I'll never forget that. A few months later we moved to San Diego too. Things were getting too weird there.

No. There is much more to it than just that. The secret boat they couldn't afford that nobody knew about. The huge sacks of cement to make only one anchor - thats what he told investigators. Telling the cops there was no power in the boat shed so they couldn't examine it - a blatant lie. Telling Laci's father and others he was golfing that day. Not being able to say what bait he used. Too cold for golf but not to go out in freezing windy weather on a boat on Xmas Eve leaving his hugely pregnant wife alone when they had plans to have dinner at her parents that evening and had things to do before they went. Calling friends and acting all panicked while driving home but when he got there he washed his clothes, had a shower, ate pizza and went on the internet before calling Laci's mother to tell her that Laci was "missing". How did he know she was "missing"? These are only a few giveaway details.

    • @DylanLovesBrenda

There were cops searching the bay in the months that followed her disappearance. Pretty ballsey to go try to "frame" him and risk being caught by dumping her after the fact. The body was so decomposed showing it had been under water for anywhere from 3 to 6 months. Thats right in the middle of when she was missing. She had been in there the whole time it seems. It's hard to prove without physical evidence. Everything was circumstantial. Seems to me Scott Peterson was the unluckiest guy on the planet if he didn't do it. Everything pointed to him. I know a lot of people are just getting into this story, I followed it in real time. I was in my early 20's...it was so sad. Being from San Diego, I actually graduated from the same high school as Scott but years later. It was so surreal and felt close to home. His actions were so suspect around that time. All around sad...I think everyone can agree Scott should have done a lot of things differently if he wasn't the person who did this. Sadly I believe the right person is in prison.

    • @AnneBoleynTudor
      @AnneBoleynTudor 6 років тому +4

At some point the anchors broke free or were sheared off by passing boats and the body gases caused the body to rise to the surface and the tides floated it to the shore. Heavy weights often don't keep the body down with the gases rising. Famous case in NZ, the bodies were weighed down with car axles in a river. Months later they floated to the surface and were found.

4:31 Wait a second, Scott told Laci's dad that he was out golfing when she disappeared? Then he changed his story to out fishing? There's huge difference between the two. Is it that Scott didn't want her dad to know he had bought a boat? Because apparenly nobody knew about it but Scott. He had it in a storage room somewhere. It seems he didn't want to tip off her father in that intial phone call so that it would point to the fact he had kept the boat secret and then might have used the said boat to dispose of her body. In other words, premeditated.

Before and during the trial of Scott Peterson there was a hotline set up for tips.
While he was awaiting trial I was living in Fresno California and working for a children’s hospital. I visited kids on ventilators monthly to assess how they were doing. I had quite a few patients in Modesto.
During one trip to Modesto to see 4 patients I had a bit of downtime waiting for one child to get home from school with her nurse. I parked on a quiet dead end street. I had made a u-turn so I was facing the T part of the street. It was a rather affluent area. The 2 houses on the little half block where I was parked were on either side of me and facing the street. So I was parked between the houses along their fence line. I had the child’s field chart, that I had just visited, propped up on the steering wheel so I could chart in it. I had the sunroof open and all 4 windows in my car down.
After about 15-20 minutes of charting I heard someone whistling. I looked up and saw a man on the opposite side of the street putting things in a pickup truck that had a camper on it. I casually looked up and then went back to charting.
After a few minutes I realized the whistling had gotten closer and was echoing. I looked up again to see this burly man coming down the sidewalk towards me.
Again there was nothing on the little street where I was parked. Even the privacy fencing of the 2 houses I was in between had to be over 6 feet tall.
So I was a little concerned about him coming towards me but ignored my gut instinct and went back to charting. Or rather half charting while keeping an eye on the man. I felt relieved when he passed by my passenger window without saying anything to me.
Just seconds later he was suddenly back at my passenger window and both his head and shoulders were in my car.
He yelled at me to give him my patient’s chart. I was so startled I held the binder to my chest and said it was confidential. Which it was, later I thought what a silly thing to say since I thought the man was going to hurt me.
I was dressed in scrubs and a lab coat that was embroidered with my name and credentials.
He was leaning so far into the car and yelling so hard he was spitting on me. My back was too the drivers door by then.
He kept saying things like I was taking notes on his activities and watching him.
I kept replying I worked for a Childrens’s hospital and was seeing my patients in the area.
That went back and forth a few minutes.
He finally calmed down a little and then he told me he was being investigated by the police for the Laci Peterson murder.
That he had seen her walking a path in the park and had followed her because she reminded him of his sister. The sister had accused him of killing their father and he never forgave her. And he was convicted of THAT murder.
This information came out in spurts. I am just ad-libbing what he said. He kept saying he was just trying to help Laci and the police didn’t believe him. That they thought he killed her too.
I really thought he was just mental and I was saying anything to get him out of my car.
I soothed him by saying I believed him. Saying it over and over again.
I also told him numerous times I needed to go. That my next patient was waiting.
So I chalked it up to being just a weird encounter.
So I finish work and go home.
And I thought and thought about it. And the what-ifs.
So the next afternoon or maybe the day after that....
I called the tip line and left a message about the encounter.
A Detective called me back within a day and asked me questions. I got calls from that Detective a few more times. And that eased any misgivings I had about keeping the information to myself.
Just a week later they officially set the date for Scott Peterson’s trial.
    And that was that.
    Except....
This little lingering feeling of a what-if.
What if the Detective never shared the information with Scott Peterson’s lawyer?
So finally I knew I wouldn’t rest easy unless I followed through with letting him know.
    So I emailed him.
I started off the email saying I thought his client, Scott Peterson, murdered his wife and baby.
Then I just wrote a quick note about this other man that had told me he followed Laci Peterson the day she went missing and that he thought the police were watching him etc...
THEN I finally felt at ease about the whole weird encounter.

I remember when this happened and I watched the trial. I always believed that Scott smothered Laci with a pillow while she was sleeping. You can just imagine the weight and strength of this guy as he sits on your body smothering you....she never had a chance. He probably thought this would be the quickest (And probably what he thought was the most humane way of killing her)...and she probably never realized what was happening. What a monster of a man.
