    Yes it can be done for less, and for a lot more. The point is to give a high level breakdown to give folks a rough idea. Also keep in mind this includes ZERO engine mods.

      yeah we know the rods go to 320 tq..... did you know the older engines are stronger / faster ?... AEB with some forged rods will break 400hp until the block starts to twist around 500hp.. this is all common knowledge

    • @COMotorsports
      @COMotorsports  2 роки тому +5

      @@xaviercrowley7517 If you're building a new engine and need to buy pistons, then yes as there's not much of a difference in cost at that point (maybe a couple hundred bucks) so it makes sense. But changing it will just come down to what you want. It helps with low end power, and more displacement will help spool a big turbo easier. But for the average setup it's not needed really. The one exception to that I guess is if it's a heavy chassis like an Audi A4 or Avant or something then it needs all the help it can get.

    So in my mk4 clutch and trans both worked fine then I ended up dropping a valve. Got a new motor in it and got it running again. Went to go and drive it out it in gear release the clutch and car does not stall or move and I tried every gear. Took off the clutch put a brand new throw out bearing in put it all back together and still nothing. So I’m gonna assume that it needs a clutch which was my first guess but could there be any other possibilities like tranny or maybe even the clutch lever in the transmission or maybe even shift linkages. If you have any ideas it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance

    350whp on E85 is easy on a log manifold with a 62mm CHRA K04, FMIC and some injectors.... maybe introduce some ring gap.
    It's not even worth it to go change the manifold because of all the "1 off tax" aka the guy makes them by hand.... you get more generic usable parts when you stay in the K frame range especially when you only made like 300hp!!!

    I’m wondering if the Eurodyne Meastro setup I have would work for this? I think there’s a 870cc file that then can be customized. Do you have any knowledge or experience with this for the AEB file?

    • @COMotorsports
      @COMotorsports  2 роки тому

      Yes, ran Maestro on big turbo 1.8t AEB for years. It works, just not nearly as good as newer 1.8t ECUs, however for the AEB there isn't a lot of options so it is what it is.

      @@DustySteel Edited my post above to specifically say big turbo 1.8t "AEB's". The issue is, there really isn't much else you can try aside from going standalone... which again there really isn't any PNP adapter harnesses to make that a simple option either. You're just working with a very basic ECU in those.

    I’d like to see a budget build with good parts mixed with ebay like let’s say ebay intercooler 80$ vs 300$ knockoff blowoff valve and then something good like a turbo and see if the ebay parts can hold up to real parts all while trying to get a car faster
    but dang that’s expensive I’d probably cheap out on the intercooler and try to make my own manifolds I’m looking to get a 03 gti 1.8t next week

    • @COMotorsports
      @COMotorsports  2 роки тому

      Most of it's junk, so although can work, it will generally fail prematurely or provide subpar results comparably. We've used "ebay" in many cases... typically it always ends up the same... buying twice. We try to build good reliable street cars, or track cars which are getting heavily abused. So using parts that are failure prone just doesn't work in those instances, or are not worth the risk/investment.

    All this money, for stock Engine? Breaking barrier of 400nm and you're also breaking the engine for sure :D At least give it forged pistons. 1.8t are fun flexible engines, and you can throw any ammount of money at them. For 300KM+ I would go with hybrid K04-064, it has nice spool from low RPM or TD04. 620CC injectors. Fuel pump same, or DW65. Flywheel, VR6 in kevlar.
    And what bothers me, are BOV's, why touch them if engine is desinged to run on DV.
