- On August 7, 2012, Jonathan Batiste and The Stay Human Band, with special guest Wycliffe Gordon, wrapped up a gig at Rockwood Music Hall on the Lower East Side and proceeded to perform their way to the after party six blocks away, taking the crowd with them and gathering fans along the way. Watch as this New Orleans style jazz riot takes over the city's streets.
Thank you for being Jazz back to society. The Walker Family.God Bless you and Family.
Being from New Orleans I love this! Jon is a genius. They all sound great! Reminds me of my hometown. Happy music!
this actually makes me happy to be human, this bands amazing. Their music really brings the best out of people.
Stay human haha
this is annoying, not in a million years would I watch this whole 17min video or walk down the street with Jon Batiste
How to start (or end) the day with a smile! They just picked up another fan. And mad props to the percussionist, who is doing serious work with that tambourine!
Yes, Jon and I have played together several times. He is a fantastic person.
Omg , jon Batiste is a genius. He literally played the head of my favorite things. Hes just doing standards its incredible
Thanks a lot!!!
Thank you! This made my damn day over and over!
Man, this guy, playing "Straight No Chaser" in the middle of "My Favourite Things" in the middle of the night on the street.
4:28 to 4:37 right here is bad crazy in every possible GOOD way. Teach the kids people. I beg you. Let's not lose this rich, valuable culture. Mr. Batiste shows the way to inspire.
Raindrops & Roses never had it so good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How many ways can one say Positively Exquisite?!!!!!!!!!!!
The group is Great
Wow, talk about being in the right place at the right time.. I hope to experience this opportunity someday

crazy trombone in this video. love this whole band
lol at the guy that shows up at 15:50 with the trumpet right when they are stopping
Sad times
Amazing!
Its impressive how much volume Jon gets outs of his melodica without a mic
In New Orleans this is called a second line, not a jazz riot!
Wonderful spontaneity
Yeah Baby!!!!! That's "down-right" raw talent in top form. Take that to the bank!
Increíble!! Jaja!!
How does this only have 37,000 views?!
Same question from me as well
Crazy good. Serious. Intense. No playin' games here - AT All. Start with 4:48, I guess, cause it's really all good. Man.....lower east side, (L.E.S.) nyc, how I miss you.
I want these guys on Congress Street, Portland (Maine); please visit us.
Taking it to the streets
What an amazing video !!, does anyone know where the music from 10:14 originates from ? it seems like a tone I heard as a kid and cant quite spot it
+Mahmoud Shadid I think you mean "These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things", from the movie/musical The Sound of Music.
Mahmoud Shadid it's the snake charmer song
Wow
I"d love to hear this guy with cat empire
Awesome-ness! (",)
I think it is Mardi Gras 2nd Line. Irvin Mayfield & Kermit Ruffins have a version too.
it's a melodica, but jon calls it a harmoniboard. (harmonica plus keyboard)
whats that instrument called?
nice musicccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccc
Oh m-a-aaan .
shout out to the drunk guy at 2:30
melodica
dancing in the street is illegal in most US cities, if you want to dance then go to the saloon where you can kick up your heels like a two bit strumpet..or go to NOLA
Sad but true that many U.S. cities still outlaw spontaneous music and dancing. Even dancing in bars is illegal in NYC.
Not so raw.
the talent, that is.
this is terrible, if anyone has watched the entire 17min video, congrats, what a waste of time
Stupid ass troll
Sorry you feel that way
