No se ni como empezar. O sea, una criatura de 6 añITOS, se planta en el escenario del Palau de la Música, ante cientos de personas pendientes de ella, entre dos enormes (en todos los sentidos) músicos americanos, Gordon y Davis, marcándose con ellos una interpretación fantástica, solo incluido, con carita casi de susto, pero sin perderles nunca el ritmo, aguantándoles de tú a tú, mientras los dos la miraban entre divertidos y asombrados, sin creerse del todo lo que estaba haciendo esa niña. Esa niña era Elsa Armengou, la pequeña de las Garrapata Sisters (su hermana Alba estaba arriba, en la fila de las trompetas) y no podía ser consciente de lo que realmente estaba haciendo ni de que este video lo iban a ver millones de personas por todo el mundo mundial. En fin, esa renacuajo de hace una década esta ahora cerca de la mayoría de edad y se ha convertido en una excepcional trompetista, quizá la más prometedora de España por su edad, capaz de hacer cosas tan alucinantes como este maravilloso "Smoke gets in your eyes", que no me cansaré nunca de escuchar: ua-cam.com/video/8H__HOVSSAc/v-deo.html. Gia in quel UNDECIDED ha fatto la sua parte a memoria senza il minimo errore compreso l'inciso del pezzo. Poi, ha ascoltato quei due pesi massimi bravissimi improvvisatori ma talmente grandi che Elsa ha dovuto ruotare il viso verso l'alto. Complimenti ad ELSA dal 2011 a oggi.

DAS ist der wahre Ursprung des alten Jazz. In die Gegenwart gerettet und verfeinert. NUR SO geht Unterricht, nicht nur in der Musik, sondern auch in allen anderen lebenswichtigen Schulfächern. Das prägt positives für die Zukunft, egal was Sie mal später anstreben. DAS Rüstzeug haben Sie sich gewiss hart, aber spielerisch erarbeitet ... das war 2011. Jetzt haben wir bald 2019 UND - das Projekt - ist aus meiner Sicht mehr als geglückt, junge Musikanten-innen später dann mit - absoluten Profimusikern - zu durchmischen und die erworbene Erfahrung sowie ein stimmiges Selbstwertgefühl - ohne Allüren- somit zu vertiefen ... If I'm right all these young musicians are from Spain. This country has a program starting at age 6yrs to 18yrs they can get a free education in an insturment of their choice. The leader is fantastic in American jazz.

I think the young ones gain a lot of self confidence playing with these pros. Also it’s quite obvious that the guys are enjoying her immensely.

Alles Freiwillige und eine eingeschworene Gemeinschaft mit individuellem Freiraum bei der Interpretation, wie ES mir so scheint. Was an Soli zu Gehörs gebracht wird, ist gewollt, niemals muffig und gar-nie-nicht aufgesetzt. Nicht nur noch - Musik für Musiker - sondern ein Neustart für die Orchestermusik im Jazz. DAS ist der wahre Ursprung des alten Jazz. In die Gegenwart gerettet und verfeinert. NUR SO geht Unterricht, nicht nur in der Musik, sondern auch in allen anderen lebenswichtigen Schulfächern. Das prägt positives für die Zukunft, egal was Sie mal später anstreben. DAS Rüstzeug haben Sie sich gewiss hart, aber spielerisch erarbeitet ... das war 2011. Jetzt haben wir bald 2019 UND - das Projekt - ist aus meiner Sicht mehr als geglückt, junge Musikanten-innen später dann mit - absoluten Profimusikern - zu durchmischen und die erworbene Erfahrung sowie ein stimmiges Selbstwertgefühl - ohne Allüren- somit zu vertiefen ... Gratulation aus Bayern/Franken.

I was in Barcelona in August and so badly wanted to see the group, but they were in practice sessions. I’ve got to get back soon! Thanks for keeping jazz and the great standards alive for the world!

If I'm right all these young musicians are from Spain. This country has a program starting at age 6yrs to 18yrs they can get a free education in
an insturment of their choice. The leader is fantastic in American jazz.
They get some really impressive resulst too. This is particularly amazing. The Galacian youth orchestra, has a great version of Bolero.
Exciting Trombone and Sax solos but such a talented young ensemble cast featuring this child prodigy. I wonder these gifted musicians grow on trees?

Of course she is a wonderful protege, and all the other children and young adults are also also amazing. The not so young adults didn’t do too bad either. But Joan Chamorro deserves a Nobel Prize for giving these kids, direction, self worth and good taste in music.
