Tim, game developer here. This is ... fantastic. Facundo caught the one error i saw. Also, i think you use the term peaceful beginning as the start of battle time a couple times. Peaceful mode is instead ending at that time. Minor stuff. Bummer no sound fx here for your legendary beasts, but the on screen text was amazing and for my money i almost never want to see a video again where a card is displayed flat on a table - the vertical display and fancy backlighting is awesome. You absolutely nailed a demo the way i would at a game con. Thank you!
Thank you so much Peter! It's an honor to receive such thrilling feedback; I'm so excited to hear that you enjoyed the quality I put into the tutorial! For the sound fx....I've saved it for an upcoming video!
6:50 Granted that I did not read the rule book yet (I like to read the physical copy that comes with the game), I do not believe you can "look through a stack" of treasure tokens when you go to an elemental realm. I will let Peter, or anyone else that sees this, confirm.
Just grabbed this a couple days ago and after reviewing two other tutorial videos, I have to say yours felt the cleanest and had the most thorough, logical stepwise explanation out of the three. Really appreciate videos like this, you got a sub from me! Can't wait to bring this one to the table
Wow, thank you so much Pratik! I'm so humbled to hear all those kind words, and I really hope you enjoy dwellings when you get a chance to play the game! Thank you!
My goodness Tim... your tutorial videos are beyond superb. I really appreciate how much time you put for your quality videos. Anyway, thank you for the tutorial!
Hi just to clarify further, the rule specifically states on page 9: "If you already have units anywhere in Eldervale, then you must place your unit in a realm adjacent to a realm occupied by one of your units, but NOT in a realm also occupied by one of your units. You MAY choose to place in a realm occupied by opponent's units or Monster, but doing so will trigger battle". So you were both right, in a way.
Well done with the production of your video. It is very apparent that you spent a lot of thought into how you structured and created it. You just earned yourself another subscriber.
Hello, first time comment here on your channel and I love your guidelines, sad that they are needed though. I’m half way through this after picking the game up today. Bought to solo only but may two hand it first to fine tune the rules. Right enough waffle back to your video, then a read through and then the simple set up, thank you.
Glad I saw this video. You do a great job explaining a complex game in simple terms. I appreciate the attention to detail and the video editing helps clarify everything. Subscribed and looking forward to watching your other reviews.
21:30 You state that if battle results in a true tie, then Monsters will remain, but this is incorrect. Admittedly, the rulebook is a little confusing on this area, to the point where I had to post on BGG to verify that I hadn't misinterpreted it. But Luke (the game designer) confirmed that in the case of a true tie, all participants (including a Monster, if any) lose the battle.
Thanks Michael for the clarification! I totally missed that but thanks for taking time to get this squared away from forums; that’s definitely confusing!
Regardeless of the rules, I love the production quality of your video. I started photography recently and I must say the angles, light that you set up for this video is great. Is it very pleasant to watch ! Cannot wait to receive this game next week, your tutorial will def help me through my first TTS game to get familiar with it. Subscribed !
I don't have the game, but I wanted to 1. give you a view and 2. figured it would show me the game overall. It's so pretty and those player trays are cool!
Congratulations. This is the best how to play format I've seen yet. Your delivery and the way you organize the rules is great. I see in the comments there are a couple of rules goofs but aside from that this is top notch. Thanks for the great content!
Ah ok! It’s still my most played game atm! It’s consistently hit the table during each of our gaming sessions, and my friends always ask to play this over others 😂
What a cutie. Thanks for this. Made me understand the game my friend wants to introduce me to. Very thorough and have the knowledge to battle it out with him on even ground. Love the enthusiasm. Great job!
I'm enjoying the return to board game focused content. I didn't back this one. But I'm looking to get it once it's available on the companies site (you can sign up to get notified when it's available). I don't think I'll go for the legendary edition of this one, though.
Thank you! I definitely want to commit a lot more to tabletop this year, especially to cover all the games coming in! I think the legendary edition is certainly a hefty price, but i'm currently working on the full review so maybe a few thoughts might add to your decision!
Hey Tim, Nice summary! Wow, this game seems to have a lot of rules - and this video is very dense. How do you think the best way of learning everything is? I thought I knew the gist of the game, but you reminded me about all these specific details during the video. Is there a turn card which breaks down all actions you can do on your turn for this game - or has someone come up with one on BGG? That could really help! Thanks.
Thanks for the question Coy! I screwed that up- so you only take off the top of the stack, and I’ll pin the comment of someone else who was very helpful in correcting that too! In case you want to see the specifics in the rulebook!
I am not sure, but I think the score markers are decahedral, not octahedral, right? They have 10 faces (the bases are octagons, but you should add two faces more for the bases). I think the best would be calling them octagonal prisms.
I have just been introduced to this game, and was wondering where I can pick up a copy of it? I’ve check a multitude of websites but have had no luck what so ever. Thank You!
Ah that’s awesome! I don’t think they have any in stock at the moment so I would follow their newsletter for updates of when they’re releasing more! They also mentioned local retailers will be having them in stock this summer~
@ 6:54 you said you get to look through the treasure stack and choose one, that is incorrect. You only get to choose from those showing at the top of their stacks.
Yes you are friend I believe in you! I think it helps to just break it into parts; maybe watch a few minutes, go back to the rulebook and repeat! I try to have a physical copy out bc the physical pieces help me a lot in learning all this crazy information! You got this 💪🏽
Yeah the video alone will not be enough. I do have an unopened copy of the game, maybe it’s worth following along with the pieces and rulebook right next to me
This game was one of the worst game experiences my group has ever had ...it was absolutely terrible I got an overpriced legendary edition based on fanboys' hype but turns out the game totally sucks, yes game looks stunning, and the production quality is one of the best we have ever seen, but sadly when you seat down to actually play the game, it is not a good experience... the gameplay is not well thought of and is extremely unbalanced, the problem with this game is it does not work with more players then 1 lol ... 3rd and 4th player literally will always lose due to a massive disadvantage for going last and everything being already grabbed such best resources and best gate cards ...that give a massive advantage at the start ... every single game we played there was no suspense because there was always an obvious winner generally the first player and two players were obvious losers and dead man walking through the entire game with no chance to catch up! there is no excitement because it is so unbalanced ...it is ridiculous.. we tried balancing it by getting rid of the gate cards , by getting rid of some extremely powerful cards that turn any player into an instant winner such as calculation ... the final game we tried really ruined it for us, once for all ... one of the players had a card that gives him 3 points each turn when he receive one of the equipped resources, of course he eqiped 4 of them.... several turns later ... we all are still at the start of the scoring board whilst he already passed half of the board with his score ... after that guys did not even want to give this game another try ... they all thought this was balance wise the most stupid game we ever played ... there is no satisfaction just grief ... Never ever we have played any other game you can tell a winner literally after first few turns ... I will be selling my edition...the game is for you if you don't care about depth and balanced gameplay, and you love gorgeous looking games... I think it is ok as solo game but totally sucks as multiplayer
Hey there. 6:54 you say you can look through the stacks. Not true. Rulebook page 9. You take a token from the top.
Thanks a lot for this max! Ahh can’t believe I missed this-thank you for correcting me!

thank you!! definitely aiming to make my tutorials better this year and i'm ECSTATIC to hear you're enjoying it!
Very well done, hope your subscriber base grows, you deserve a bigger audience.
Wow thanks Bryan! I'll try to make as many videos as i can this year, and i'm glad to have your support!
6:07 only the first placement needs to be in an unoccupied realm, you can place further units in occupied realms as long as they are adjacent
Thank you Facundo for the clarification!
@@TimChuon Thank you for an amazing video!

Great video! Your production and delivery skills are insane-0.
hahah thanks ryan! I'm still trying to slow down when i talk so hopefully i can get used to pacing soon!

I don't have the game, but I wanted to 1. give you a view and 2. figured it would show me the game overall. It's so pretty and those player trays are cool!

Amazingly well done. I'm jealous of your instructional skillz. Thanks for making the video. Best overview of gameplay I've seen yet!

Great tutorial Tim. Gained another like and subscriber.
Very good video. I finally understand "easily" how this games work. Thanks a lot! :)
Great video. Note that for Faerie Charm, the battle does not have to involve you, for you to use the spell.
That was awesome. Thanks for putting this together. Great rule explanation and as always great cinematography.
glad you enjoyed the tutorial Cameron! Hope you had a fantastic dwellings gaming sesh!
@@TimChuon I don't have the game. I'm considering it though. Looks like a lot of fun. Do you find that it still makes it to the table?

HAHA! Thank you for indulging me during those moments 😂
so fun this game.. i need a 2nd print.
great video thanks
Wow so much info. Not a light game. Cant wait to dive in
Ok not gonna lie this game looks fun. Only know about this game because a local game store just posted this game being in stock on their fb
OH! You gotta try it out! They must’ve gotten the new reprints in 🔥
This game looks awesome.. but it's really hard to find a place to buy it. Can anyone recommend a place?
thank you!

Buckridge Pine
Very well done sir but what a lot of information to digest in half an hour.
and here I thought you were saying Kardashians until I realized you were actually saying Card Actions
