Tim. I’ve been heavily into the board game community for over ten years now and I know almost all channels there are to know. Your channel completely wowed me. The charisma and content you bring is amazing and is only amplified further by your amazing editing. I can’t wait to watch more of your stuff. Well done Sir, and thank you.
Hi Jamie! This really means a ton, especially for a small creator like me! Thank you so so much for taking the time to leave such impactful thoughts-truly, it means a lot! I have a ton planned this year and can’t wait to show you the ideas I have cooking up!
I seriously appreciate all this Jeremy! So excited to hear how much you enjoyed my work in this one! Thank you~ P.S.-our marvel united gameplay was the first time I ever experienced it in co op form! To colossus and ice man!
Ha, I definitely understand. So much work went into this. Also makes me want to get a new camera and a different mount for those lovely slow panning/pivot shots. So good
@@3MBG oh 100%!! I think it's nice, as fellow creators, we can see that bts aspect of it- 💪🏽 +1 for that Jarrod! if you end up upgrading...let me know what you get-love seeing those upgrades! 👀

bro your cinematography is next level. Other board gamers just point a web cam at their face and talk. you make it seem like a studio production. Well done.
My Top Games Are: 1. Puerto Rico 2. Viticulture with Tuscany 3. BattleTech/CityTech 4. Dinogenics with Controlled Chaos 5. Terraforming Mars 6. Robinson Crusoe 7. Many others.
My duuuuude - I don’t think we have ever discussed that we both loved Yugioh! Let’s go. 🔥 Also this list has been excellent. The music and the transitions and broll. Dude. Also that second camera angle. My oh my. Great list - you are making me want to play marvel champions. My solo game of choice is Imperium: classics/legends atm. First one I’ve ever truly loved. I knew 3 of the 4 in your top 4. Aquatica is a nice one for me to look into. 🙌🏽
WHAAT!!! omg i'm not surprised and yet so stoked! I had no idea you were a yugioh fan too! ahh thanks so much brother! Trying to upgrade my top x lists a bit more for this year 💪🏽 HAHAH! ofc you would!! I think aquatica is a bit different from what you would like but 100% worth a shot
Beautiful video! So glad to see this kind of quality and care put into board game media. Also, thank you for adding Merchants Cove to the list! Means a lot that you enjoy it so much 🤠
Viticulture Tuscany is a must expansion for Viticulture. Kemet, want to dive in, but I am playing games 95% 2player, but Kemet is best with 3/4 player count as I know. Aquatica looks really nice. Btw, kudos for this video, next level stuff here 🤩👍🏻

I subscribed about 50 seconds into watching. The editing was so far above anything else I've ever seen that I wanted to watch even if your reviews were crap (which they aren't; they are terrific).
I just started getting into board games. I love how you do cinematic tutorials and reviews. Keep it up subscribed. The cinematic sold me on subscribing. Completely different from a lot of the other review channels.
WOAH. I clicked on the video specifically because it included the word "cinematic" - the word stuck out like a sore thumb considering that the vast majority of board game-related content is ho-hum from a video perspective, if not downright drab. I was transformed into Maxell-blown-away-man the moment I hit play. Simply amazing! Thank you for bringing such creative power to my favorite hobby! Thank you thank you!
Tim. can I just say, I LOVE YOU! You are the best, you know how to make a game feel special... :) It makes me so excited that Dwellings has held up. We have to coordinate on epic cinematic coverage of Luke's next game. Andromeda's Edge! Cheers!
HAHA! Thanks for watching Peter!! Truly have loved this game and it’s been a wonderful experience all around! I’ve been following Luke’s teasers of Andromeda’s Edge and yes-I’d love that!
Subscribed! I love all of my gamer geek content creators on UA-cam, but I’ve been waiting for more modern and well produced vids like these to start hitting.
This is the first video of yours I have seen. Great video! I just subscribed. Once in a while the music drowned out what you were saying (like the name of the game number 8 I think) but the work you put into your videos is fantastic. Great job!
This is a top-tier video. I cannot believe I did not find this channel earlier. A small thing is that the volume on the cinematics for the various games is a tad loud. Man I'm so glad UA-cam pointed me to this video. The editing of this video is so amazing, love it. I consider myself board game fan, interestingly I did not know about half of the list. So I'm looking forward to search through your videos to discover more hidden gems and enjoy the mindblowing presentation. Also the subscribers vs. viewers statistic did not feel right, joining your army! Keep up the great work!
Nice video! So good you tried viticulture after all those years! I recommend the essential edition and tuscany essential eddition expansion. They really push the game to one of the best worker placement games!
Until you realize how broken the cards are (specifically yellow, in my estimation). You can beat the game faster than everyone else only taking and playing cards without making a _single_ wine. Tested it personally on 3 occasions. Love the game too but it’s hard to overlook.
Tim, I didn’t buy it for a long time for the same reason. I don’t drink and the wine part didn’t appeal to me. Once I purchased the game and played it, I’m now all in. I’ll buy anything that comes out for this game. Love it!
I'm recently binge watching on loads of board games and your channel hits the spot. Didn't grew much on board games but I'm not too old to not try and I'm looking forward for discovery. Thanks! Also subscribed! 👍
How have I not heard of/seen your channel before?! Mate, your straight-forward but entertaining approach is a winner. You have a very engaging way of presenting yourself and your work. I think your passion is the reason for that. Can't wait to see more of what you have and will do.
Thank you for capturing the quality of the games and expanding the feels. I was watching other videos for Kemet and thought it was going to be game I wouldn't want to play, this video convinced me to at least try it.
I have to say when I saw your #8, I decided to subscribe to your channel. I’ve seen soooo MANY “Top 10 “best” lists. And I’ve listened to people talk about art work and epic size and game mechanics and game designers, card building, worker placement, blah, blah, blah. TBH, I NEVER play games because of any of those things. I’m not looking for “tasty” games, or games with a “crunch” (we all know where that comes from…). I play games to create memories and enjoy my time with friends and family-and that’s it. I don’t care how simple or silly a game is. Actually, I find I like simple games, because it is ACCESSIBLE to everyone I care about. I believe they call this genre “party games”. Last night my family and friends played a new game for us all, “Blank Slate” and we had a blast. Laughter and no one cared who won or lost. To me that is the best game nights. I’ve also played plenty of heavyweight games like Twilight Imperium. But I find myself playing those games less and less. I say all this to say, your choice at #8, you shouldn’t have to “explain” or caution why it’s on your list. I’ve never seen it, and it’s the one game I’ll probably go out and buy. Basically, remember why you play games. And thanks for sharing what games you enjoy the most.
Man I was so excited to see Dwellings of Eldervale as number 1!! That cinematic video of yours that you were talking about was really important to me and probably helped convince me to buy it and even though the price got really hefty due to shipping I have NEVER BEEN SO HAPPY with a purchase like ever!! Man I love this game so much 😄😄
This is a technically impressive video. I enjoyed this. Wow, high praise for Aquatica! I dismissed it as a game that is probably good, but wouldn't have staying power with me. You've convinced me to look at it a little more closely. If I get it I probably would get the expansion at the same time.
SWEET thank you thank you jacob! yeah you really should give it a shot! the theme was enticing for quite some time, and then when I happened to make a tutorial on it + review...it just kept growing on me and now I can't get enough of it! expect a cold waters expansion review soon~ I hope you get a chance to try it!
Solid list for 2021! Dwellings is fantastic, and made my list too. Such a great mix of Euro, thematic and conflict mechanics. Regret not backing it but now waiting for 2E to be announced. Pandemic WOW looks awesome and have loved all iterations so far. Even finally painted and pimped out Pandemic Cthulu. Will need to add to my wish list. Don't think I can disagree with any of your picks (not that it matters, different strokes and all), but very solid. New sub!
I am one of the very fortunate people who late pledged Dwellings on a whim because i hadn't owned or played Scythe before, and wanted something similar. Also, i suspected someone in my group would eventually get scythe, so i held back. Boy do i feel smug about my decision. Spot on explanation of the feels/vibes the game gives and yes, they need to print more. people really should get a hold of this one. Great channel, great work and certainly a long time subscribers. Cheers Tim and Happy New Year.
I picked up a final copy of the legendary KS dwellings of eldervale from a local store after an intense recommendation from a friend. I enjoy the one game of their copy i played, but after hearing your description i want to get deeper into it! Also, I have never seen your channel until today despite watching board gaming channels very regularly, but I have to say your video quality is insane. this is the first video of yours I've seen, but it was super informative and really fun to watch, so I subbed! I'm going to see what other videos you have ^^
As others here had said, fantastic job with making this video interesting - visually and content-wise, whether one would agree with the list or not. Subscribed!
Seeing as how you started with two of my top 10 games... I'm all in on this list. Gotta try Aquatica, merchants and eldervale now! Great quality visuals too brother!
Wow! Just Wow! You sir, have my full attention! Wonderful List and explanation of each game without being boring or taking forever to explain. Liked and subscribed!
Tim, I follow you on IG but must not be seeing everything there. I watched only 5 minutes of this to know I MUST SUBSCRIBE. Your filming and editing and music editing are stunning.
I'm only partway in right now but had to comment on the awesomeness of your editing with the added animations (like in "rips your heart out"). So cool! I also don't really drink but I like the theme of making wine/beer because the process seems cool, even though I don't like the final product.
WOW I’m so grateful to hear that, thanks Ambie!! I take 3x longer to edit just to put in 1-2 sec details like that so it means a lot that you’ve noticed! 🥳 Ah that’s so true-the way it’s refined and the ingredients/overall ideas that go into it sound so cool ….minus what it actually makes 😅 thanks for taking the time to watch the list Ambie!
@@TimChuon yeah I can tell you put a lot of work into editing. I watch all my videos on 2x speed so I did a double take, slowed it down, and rewatched when I saw it!

Wish there was a way to challenge you on Red Rising, I wanna end that undefeated streak, lol! My wife has read all the books and cannot get enough Red Rising in her life so I grabbed her the collectors edition. This is definitely in our rotation of board games!
After watching a few of your videos, I’m very impressed by your videography/showcase of games! It makes ordinary games pieces pop and other reviewers should emulate how you show games. Keep up the awesome work and I’ll stick around! 💚
A man after my own heart. I absolutely love playing boardgames but mostly lose. Even so, the experience of playing greatly outweighs the goal of winning for me. Although I wouldn't mind winning from time to time.
this is EXACTLY how I feel! hahaha just having a chance to play outweighs actually winning or losing.... but figuring out the game and getting a W wouldn't hurt at all 😂
Really great video! I hate to be that guy, and 'synchronicity' really is a great word, but it means something else. The word your looking for is 'synergy'. 'Synchronicity' is a concept in psychology that describes circumstances that seem meaningfully related but lack a causal connection. Like thinking about something and then it happens, for example.
I discovered your site and this was my first time watching (won't be my last) incredible job. Of course now I have to make room on the gaming shelf for a few of these. Thanks.
I loved this video. I just wish the script matched the video quality, the arguments weren’t as strong as the enthusiasm to explain why the games were ranked like that. Overall, I subscribed and will be excited to see your future videos :)
Thanks Tim! Dwellings is the only game on this list I’ve played and own. That being said, I need to play that WAY more, and I need to check these other games out! Thanks man!
Just found your channel and you should be hired by board game companies: you sold me on all your choices. I almost wanted to buy games I already own for a second time haha 😂. Also my compliments on your editing skills. *subscribed* (Also had the same with viticulture, took me some time to finally play it. But glad I did.)
I want to thank you for your review, I bought Merchant's cove shortly after it came out and it's been gathering dust and generating buyer's remorse for months now. You've really got me wanting to try it out! Cheers!
Tim, PLEASE read or listen to audio for Red Rising. Stunning book series. For me, a more “adult” (no holds barred) Hunger Games. Seriously, they hold nothing back. And, the pinnacle of Book 3 had me throwing the book across the room and then when I listened to the audiobook, even though I knew what was coming, I nearly ran off the road screaming.

WELCOME TO THE WOLF PACK 🥳
@@TimChuon Thank you! Can't wait to dive into your video archive and looking forward to the future content! ❤
Thank you so much-so grateful to have your support! You came right on time-top games of 2022 is releasing out next week! 😱
We have one overlap in our top 10s and it's that we both think DoE is #1! Great video and list.
I loved watching your top 10 board games list Tim. Great cinematography and fantastic game choices!
Ah that’s so true-the way it’s refined and the ingredients/overall ideas that go into it sound so cool ….minus what it actually makes 😅 thanks for taking the time to watch the list Ambie!
@@TimChuon yeah I can tell you put a lot of work into editing. I watch all my videos on 2x speed so I did a double take, slowed it down, and rewatched when I saw it!
Hi there, love the filming, good work!
The way you film this is so awesome. Thanks for the entertaining video.
always makes my day to hear that! Glad you enjoyed all the work I poured into this one!
Sou do Brazil e amei seu video. Apesar de nao falar ingles. Fiquei satisfeitissimo com a traducao simultanea. E sua sutileza na descricao dos jogos e a paixao como os apresenta me cativou. Mais um inscrito , TMJ
I love all the games you love so I am excited to try the others. I actually gifted my original copy of pandemic so I could get the WOW version!
You're so good at editing and making your videos look beautiful!
Gonna have to try dwellings of eldervale now
I really appreciate that Evan! Thanks so much!
oh that is a MUST! hope you have a fun gaming sesh with dwellings~
The cinematography of this is fantastic! Viticulture is on wishlist!
Amazing video. Glad I got recommend to your channel. Subbed.
Your work is phenomenal.
yes, totally agree
I discovered your site and this was my first time watching (won't be my last) incredible job. Of course now I have to make room on the gaming shelf for a few of these. Thanks.
I loved this video. I just wish the script matched the video quality, the arguments weren’t as strong as the enthusiasm to explain why the games were ranked like that. Overall, I subscribed and will be excited to see your future videos :)
Heard Alex Radcliffe from boardgameco talk about this video and was not disappointed. Excellent video.
Funny!!! Mike DiLisio from Dice Tower ALSO has Dwellings Of Eldervale on his NUMBER 1 TOP spot! AND he also has Merchants Cove on his TOP 6 spot!! 😊
I don’t know if you do this on patreon already but classes for your video editing would be something I’d pay for lol. Great video
*subscribed*
(Also had the same with viticulture, took me some time to finally play it. But glad I did.)
Thank you so much for sharing Tim; it is so much appreciated.
Hey I’m just as excited to see you enjoying the list! Thank you friend~
This video was too good. Just about every game on you list is now sold out everywhere!
So happy with your number 1!
Happy you enjoyed the top ten list! It’s going to be very difficult to replace that one! 😂
Super good quality video. We’ll done!
great list and a gorgeous video. I'm 2 games into Merchants Cove and can't wait for the next.
YESSS! which characters have you played with so far? the blacksmith has to be my favorite atm!
A solid, modern cinematic list for sure! :)
Coming from YOU Dale! Thank you so much! (P.S.-I binge through your marvel champions playthroughs ALL. THE. TIME.)
@@TimChuon I'm honored to have you binge my Marvel plays! It's always humbling to know channels that I watch have stopped by my channel ... and was glad to see 2 marvel titles in your list! :)
Quality content that board games deserve, keep it up!
