These players deserve to have their names inscribed in the Akashic Records, not consigned to the dung heap.
I cannot without apology share this music to my group, as that would perpetuate this injustice.

Love the gentle cello portamento in the second movement.
BTW, first cellist and first violinist seem to have very fine instruments.

This is wonderful. I’m very impressed. Boccherini requires tremendous variety in color and articulation and this is interesting throughout. I have stopped my work to listen.
    Very well done!

Their wonderful performance embodies the musical aesthetics of Boccherine.
They are Alchemists generating impression and comfort and pleasure

This Boccherini Quintet is a compilation by the editor Johann Lauterbach (source: IMSLP): Movement I is the 1st movement of G.349, movement II is an arrangement of the 3rd movement of G.314 transposed and the 3rd movement of G.318, movement III is the 3rd movement of G.325, and movement IV is the 4th movement of G.310. (From Michael Zapf - buried in comments)

Adding to favourites. Boccherini doesn't get the attention he merits. Good performace too.

Michael Zapf why? Why not just play the original quintet complete instead of choosing random movements? If a particular movement is weak, just don’t play it. The A major cello sonata is frequently performed without the final movement. As a matter fact, I have never heard it performed WITH the final movement, Even though it is very charming.

@@PTCello Afaik, the only existing recording of op.42 No.2 is by the Vanbrugh Quartet with the addition of Richard Lester on cello 1. Recorded in 2002 on Hyperion CDA67383, it has been out of print, but used copies do appear now and then.
