Surfs Up 2 is the worst sequel ever made and I hate it.

Yeah you can't help but feel good watching the first one, this on the other hand just feels like such a pointless movie.
No better way to put it. My wife and I watched it a few weeks ago and it made us feel really good haha. Great stuff

The water in the first movie looks incredible, it looks too good for a movie that's 15 years old, and now this shit looks like a Netflix special at best. This doesn't deserve the sequel treatment, also, there is no shading anywhere, at least not a decent one, like we were back at the 90s.
90s is too generous there were some legendary films in that era more like the 70s vhr tapes

This literally feels like a bootleg lol. It's hard to feel like it ruins the previous movie for me because it's very clear that no one involved with the first movie had any part of this. It's literally a fanfiction without being made by fans.

Dude they could have just written Paige as being able to fly, but she has some kind of trauma or deep rooted insecurity/fear surrounding it, that’s instantly so much more motivational and grounded in reality than having them build devices to fly. Plus it would also feel like a little nod to Z; he COULD surf, he just stopped
That kind of logical writing isn't allowed when it comes to this kind of movie.
They could make big Z off camera if they really didnt want him in this shitty movie

The Surfs Up 2 writers clearly didn't even try, they only made the film for the sake of a commercial advertisement lmao
They also completely changed Cody’s character. Gave him a completely different personality, completely different voice and erased everything he valued and learned in the first movie. Swapped Big Z with a bunch of random wrestlers nobody cares about and said that Cody idolized them growing up not Z. If that’s the case then they need to explain why Cody is even on that island at all. The whole reason he went there was to surf in the Big Z memorial. So if Big Z is just non existent in the second movie why is he still at that island.
IKR. When Shia voiced him back in the first movie, he gave him an entire personality based upon himself, but Jermey Shada (the guy known as the voice of Finn the human) doesn't seem to fit his role pretty much

I just watched the movie today throughout its entirety and I’ve never been so disappointed in sequel in so long. The complete erasure of Cody’s character development and the disappearance of Big Z really just made it hard to watch. They literally made the same movie twice. Tank is still the same asshole, it felt like Lani was taking too much space in a story that wasn’t about her, and Chicken Joe was just there.
I'm just gonna pretend " Surf's up 2 " didn't exist.

Surfs Up 1 was one of the best animated movies ive ever seen. The feeling it transported was incredible. EVERYTHING was on point, the voices, the message, the music. The ending made me nostalgic for a life i never knew and gave me another perspective on the way I viewed life as a teenager. Now at 32 years old, Ive just seen part 2 a few days ago and I was devastated. Absolute utter corporate trash. Its like a direct insult to everything that part one stood for.
EDIT: 03:30 that ending, that dialogue, it was so impactful. My eyes and ears couldnt belive what part two became.

Hey man, the Scooby Doo Wrestlemania Mystery is one of the greatest modern wrestling moments of all time... which doesn't say much about Modern Wrestling but here we are.
This movie has NO PLOT, their literally just walking around, surfing, talking, making WWE jokes, and occasionally getting into boring scenarios. This movie is literally just an advertisement for WWE.
It's basically Finn the Human meeting the WWE superstars except they are all penguins and Vince is a Walrus
I almost didn't get the Finn joke until I searched that Jeremy Shada voiced Finn and this butchered version of Cody.

Nowadays most entertainment is done for the money. That is why films from the early 2000's feel far better than films now because a whole lot more passion was put into them compared to today.
Except for Disney I don't know what the f*** was Disney doing in the early 2000's but their movies from the time mostly sucked
I dunno, the original film came out in the wake of March of the Penguins which is why we also got Happy Feet. that said loved Surf's Up. but yeah you'd have studio exec say "we need a penguin movie" but then give it to creative people to do the rest. Straight to video/dvd animation was always pretty subpar and cheap

The early/mid 2,000 have some of the best movies like; Lilo & Stitch, Brother Bear, Treasure Planet, Emperor's new Grooves, Atlantis, Home on the Range, The Robinsons, Bolt, Chicken Little, Tinkerbell, Dinosaur, the list goes on. Disney bought Pixar in 2006 so good movies like "Up" & "Ratatouille" belong to them.
The 2,000 was a very experimental era for Disney, trying different mediums of animation like CGI. They were full of ideas & many of the movies they did were very original & entertaining.

The most ridiculous thing about the movie is that they thought they can make anyone believe the a character who represents and is voiced by Vincent Kennedy McMahoon would retire on his own accord!

1: hotshot goes to big competition, wipes out, and recovers with the help of an old mentor who rescues him from his ego
2: relapsed hot shot meets absolute legendary wrestler surfers and goes on an adventure through the desert, ancient temples, lava rivers, and glowing lightning waves to find out the entire thing was pointless

All I can say what is bad about this sequel is that the original actor from the first film wasn't included in this sequel to play Cody because the original actor played the role really well

Awesome review, since I’ve always loved the first surfs up movie this movie is a huge spit in the face to it, I especially hate how Cody reverted back to a winning obsessed asshole this is a movie I’ve only seen once and I plan to keep it that way

This looks like a sadly done kids series that is based off Surf’s Up. Something Nickelodeon would do or Disney Junior.
When I heard and saw Surf’s Up getting a sequel, I knew it was going to be terrible.
Honestly, the whole film industry today are just making movies just for money. They’re not doing it for enjoyment anymore like back in the 2000s. I miss those types.

Ngl but I do kinda have a soft spot for the first Scooby Doo/WWE crossover movie, it introduced me to the WWE because up until that point I didn't really care about it.
Does that make it better? No.
But I will say it is kind of a guilty pleasure film to watch, it's such a chaotic mess where nothing makes sense but it's so fun to watch.
It's like a car accident that's so bad that you just can't look away.
The sequel on the other hand I can't say much for, that just straight up sucked.
No wrestling was going on whatsoever (you know the one that they are crossing over with are known for?)
For some reason it has to focus on cars of all things, at least the first one's villain had something to do with wrestling but the second had nothing but a cool design going for it.
The only thing connecting it to the first one was Shaggy and Scooby's wrestling personas being resurrected (despite no wrestling going on), Miz being in it, and the mention of Kane telling Undertaker about Scoob and Shag (ngl Kane was the only wrestler that didn't feel obnoxiously in your face like Cena or Sin Cara, I actually enjoyed the little screentime he had he was so funny).
The sequel on the other hand was absolutely pointless, they didn't need one and it was definitely telling of a sequel produced from nothing but corporate greed.
Worst sequel ever made? Dude, this is NOT Ralph Break the Internet.
