The T50 is beautiful because of it's honesty and simplicity. It lets simple lines, bare materials, simple contrasts between material types divided by those lines. The shouty bits of most supercars and hypercars are missing, so the elegant stuff speaks. Also, love it or hate it, Gordon Murray doesn't care - I love that. He knew it would sell, so he didn't have to design for the customer he could design from his interpretation. It would have everything he felt should be there and nothing it didn't. 100% agreed about Brits taking the crown over the Italians in automotive design. When you really think the R35 was something revolutionary or the Veyron, than all of these cars are too, probably even more cars than I mentioned.
I 100% agree the car is stunning and the front end is the best part. Lets face it, it's easy to make a car look good by chopping its roof, muricans custom build did this for decades but making a low roof car is not good for driving. Gordon Murray design its supercar for driver enjoyment so he kept a healthy greenhouse and aimed for great visibility up front and all around. One could think large glass and low car should make for some not so pleasant to the eye car but the great designers here were able to design this fantastic car within those contraints. It's the exact opposite of those big grille monstrosity we see everywhere on the road now. Finally i think the T50 only "problem" is the F1. I can't say which one i prefer form a design standpoint. Sure the F1 lower bumper is a bit busy and the side panel are not as light to the eye as the open design toward the front wheel of the T50. But there is something, partly through the headlight that makes me enjoy the F1 a lot. Only the wheel size and design are a bit problematic in 2020 which is an engineering headache because smaller wheel are better for handling. Maybe just fitting carbon wheel or wheels with a sleeker design at the same size on the F1 make it hard to beat.
Honestly I'd like to see more F1 in it. the front bumper, the side slits.. and taillights changed a bit so not looking ferrariish sticking out from rear. I really like this tho, more than the other actual modern McLarens. The F1, Diablo, and first gen Viper are some of the best styled cars with their striking proportions

I agree about Italian cars, Ferraris where the most beautiful cars (except E-Type and 911's) from the 90's back to their beginnings. Today they're over designed. Porsche in the other hand is perfect, great balance, consistency of design and performance, elegant. The T50 is amazing! Along all the technological stuff and aerodynamics, that manual transmission is Epic.
This thing is simply incredible. It even might postpone the idea that this is the ultimate and final iteration of "legacy" tech. If it does what it's designed to do, prepare for a shock!

I love this car so much especially because gran turismo 4 :D im so sad that it didnt made its way into production and VW focused on the Bugatti Veyron. And as always nice work and keep on :D
I love fan!! Awesome that it reduces drag more than it costs power. Let's design a race car, electric, making the most of this effect! Formula E are barely as quick as F3 but on a normal race track would run out of battery in like 10-15 minutes without crazy casting which it already does on those glorified kart tracks. Let's design an electric race car that keeps pace with the fastest Lemans prototypes over 24 hours. Battery swaps. Maximized aero for drag, maybe setting a limit to downforce or a spec body to ensure it doesn't get crazy. AWD like LMP1H perhaps to get more regen and acceleration for lap time. Two such fans and optimized rear end and floor for racing. 1 seat only will help. One side rather than center like Panoz proto? Should be lower drag. Better batteries exist already. Tesla will soon up the energy density a lot. Add a small LMP or F1 battery for regen and acceleration if needed for heat management, even if heavier. Who's with me? Let's make something faster and cooler. F2 and Lemans winning worthy.
This legend of cars will amaze the world this is how highpercar should be...those cars that are fast only at top speed don't deserve a name of highpercar they must make another name for those

When you really think the R35 was something revolutionary or the Veyron, than all of these cars are too, probably even more cars than I mentioned.
Let me add a new one: the Corvette C8 made not only supercar performance but also supercar settings cheap
I appreciated your take here.
Have to admit the Ferrari Roma lines look very nice - the best Ferrari design for a while, nice and simple rather than the recent busy designs.
Totally agree with your comments about Ferrari
The car looks gorgeous.
Aside from the headlights that look like they were taken from an mk3 mr2.
t50 looks great , so clean and beauty , but the front light can be slightly lower placed, and slightly smaller
That F1 design is timeless.
People are going to realise that there will always be a market for analogue cars like the T.50. This is not the last of its kind.
Great video. Ferrari Roma is a beautiful elegant classic design. Hopefully it’s the start of more designs from Ferrari that follow this design language. Will you be making a video on the Roma? 👍🏼👍🏼
The new DeTomaso . Stunning , NA V12, manual .
I literally thought this was a Doug DeMuro video before I saw the thumbnail and channel name xD.
This is the new pinnacle of 'old school' car design
Hey SketchMonkey, nice video/analysis, the T50 and F1 are both soooo beautiful.
Speaking of 12 cylinder and beautiful cars, i wish you could do a video redesign or analysis about the VW W12 Nardo concept.
I love this car so much especially because gran turismo 4 :D
im so sad that it didnt made its way into production and VW focused on the Bugatti Veyron.
And as always nice work and keep on :D
Why don't manufacturers make central driving position supercars like the T50, Speedtail and F1?
Gordon Murray strikes again. Clean lines, naturally aspirated and a manual box. Why does nobody else build cars like this anymore?
Couldn’t agree more with everything u said !! Excellent analysis, sir. Subscribing to your channel right away!!
4:17 the F50? Lol
ahahah you got him
@@joat9105 and later on he called it the T5..but its fine I guess :D
It's another heavily underrated ultimate driver's car from Ferrari
7:41 the T5 lol what
I've been waaaaaaiting for your thoughts on this absolute beauty of a beast!!!
This legend of cars will amaze the world this is how highpercar should be...those cars that are fast only at top speed don't deserve a name of highpercar they must make another name for those
Very very nice review and I agree 💯 % for your opinion about British design and that Mclaren has the best design language with lotus, Aston Martin, range rover etc..... and from the Italians only Lambo stay as it should be...
If you don’t know the batteries in the lotus are actually going to be where the mid engine would be, up keep the same feel.
McLaren should immediately hire him back
Would be great to see R129 redesign.
Hi SketchMonkey, I'd just like to point out - I love cars and find the T.50 a beautiful and worthy successor to the F1. But when I was watching your video, there were too many ads in the middle. I lost interest in the middle of an ad and switched off the video. Sorry mate, you gotta do something about how YT ads might be actually driving viewers away from your vids.
use website not app
The rear lights reminds me of the
Ford GT 2015
Vad jobbar du med? Har du funderat på att söka jobb som designer för bilar?
You should mount your mic to a boom arm. It picks up all the noise from your desk.
I'd be stoked if Peter Stevens is also responsible for this T-50, just because!
Such an amazing car really! For a video idea, could you look at the nissan Ariyas styling?
