In this video I am demonstrating the TAMA HP910LSW Speed Cobra double-kick pedal. The Speed Cobra was designed for fast, super responsive playing action and you certainly get that with this pedal. You can easily adjust the pedal to fit your playing style but I have to say that right out of the very sturdy case that you get with the purchase, the pedal feels great.
Some of the features of the TAMA Speed Cobra include the smooth long board design that definitely helps accelerate power and speed. The recessed setting of the foot board under the cam, the ultra-tough FASTBALL bearing, Speedo-Ring, Spring Tight, and Oiles Bearing Hinge all come together to make this such a smooth and precise kick drum pedal. Another nice touch is the Projector beater which will help to bring projection and attack out of any kick drum.
The Tama HP910LSW Speed Cobra Double-Bass Pedal gives you precise action with velocity and power. It is one super smooth pedal.

Looks like I'm upgrading my rig. Thanks for the great demo.
Cannot wait to get it. Only thing I'd change is the beater. I'd change it to a wooden beater, like the Pearl Demon.
Yupp tottaly agree with changing the beaters
Great pedals, way better than overpriced Demon Drives for sure :)
much smoother
Lol. It isn't. The Demon Drives are wayyy more smoother, faster and has infinitely more adjustments than the Speed Cobras. Only the Tama Dyna-Sync pedals come as close to the Demon Drives when it comes to speed and smoothness
@@mariinito1793 yeah guess its personal preference, I sold my demon drives afer a week of trying to adjust them, just felt weird under my feet
@@macp988 Well, fair enough dude. For me, even the cheaper Tama Iron Cobras (which I used for almost 8 years before my Demon Drives) are way better than the Speed Cobra.
I got the cheaper model. Doesn't have all the features like cobra coil, speedo ring, or the hoop clamp. But it's still real smooth, great feeling
so for you people complaining about what's better chain or direct drive...it....dosen't....matter. its about how the pedal feels to the person playing it....its a thing called preference. it's like arguing over regular beer or light beer at the end of the day its fucking beer.
Facts, I just upgraded to double from single 910 even though it was expensive just because I havn’t tried any other peddle.
If you buy a peddle that you can’t work with then what is the point
Tama player for years got into axis al2 then went with trick pedals best in my opinion. I played pearl dw tama axis, trick is where it's at
my wallet doesn't think trick is where it's at 😭
I can never go back to a chain drive. Direct drive ruined it for me 10 years ago. But great demo
Oh god, i wish i had that one.
DW 3002 beater is so heavy and is coming back slowly.
I guess i have to wait.
yeah dude.. i have dw 3002 too
but I've saved 300 bucks for the speed cobra, so...
Tata Adityawarnam
I have the Pearl DB-100 beaters now, it goes better now. Does not change the the un-smooth (what is the word for this?) feel of the slave pedal, though.
I feel you, I've gotten a lot better with it and it was a better option than the cheaper PDP pedals, but it lacks finesse. It's like you have to stomp to play, and the original beaters are way too heavy, personally.
Need to loosen that BD head ace.
I didn't know paul rudd plays drums. A very talented dude indeed
Doesn't even remotely look like Paul Rudd...
Zach Purcell xD
Dying Under The Influence DUI But you can see where he’s getting at tho right?
Just got the LWN for $250 (CAD) today from a pawn shop.
It is upgraded now with a better beater, (rubber) and I have both the older and the new
What's the difference between lsw and lwn?
Does anyone know what is the difference between lsw and lwn?
1. The beater, the LWN has a rounded rubber beater instead of what you see in this video.
2. The LWN has a swiveling mechanism on the spring holder, supposedly making it feel even smoother.
3. The LWN itself is a little wider and the clamp that connects it to the bass drum has a rubber layer.
You never have to worry about the pedal coming back into position for the next hit... but what about the CHAIN?? Tama should have made this pedal Direct-Drive!!
It can be Direct Drive and Strap Drive as well.
putting springs under chain driven pedal board just doesn’t make any sense to me. that looks like a perfect recipe for chain lag
The speed coil also doesn't do much
Ben Mitchell Yes it does.
play for 3 hours and tell me it does nothing.
it takes all the fatigue out of your thighs.
@@85Aheadstix does it really? That’s the issue im currently having. Been trying to adapt my technique, as well as posture and seat height. The cobra coil really helps in that regard?
@Kevin Bothwell Yup.
the cobra coil pushes the foot board up into your foot so you work less and play harder.er
Does anyone know if you can buy the coil separately??
You can. :) www.thomann.de
Just unscrew it
This will be my next drum pedal, but it cost 350 bucks.
the speed cobras 310 series are cheaper and as good as the 910
as good? really?
Yeah, the only "important" differences are the cobra coil, the beaters and the paraclamp (also they come without a case)
Spoodermen Produktionz yeah i hear the cobra coil doesnt do much. it seems like it would actually make sense with a direct drive setup.
there's all you need to know
the fact that this spring under a chain driven foot board doesn’t create any more chain lag says that direct drive is myth and gimmick.
It's not a gimmick dude, I currently play a pearl eliminator pedal, and can guarantee the demon drive feels a lot smoother and more responsive. As I've ordered a pair of demons for this very reason :P
Could anyone, please, tell me which pedal is lighter and smoother:
Pearl Eliminator
or
Speed Cobra?
Unfortunately, i don't think i can test SC in my country in stores, cuz there are no tama in stores and you can only order it to buy.
So, currently i play old Pearl P-900 Pedal and it does a very good work. Tried eliminator and it is light and smoth, but, i really wonder about SC. I played classic HP200 Iron cobras, and those are hellishly heavy and resistant. Can't play them freely.
Any ideas/tips?
+Victor Chayks maybe not that much "lighter" but the speed cobra is by far smoother and powerful, super fast too
+Victor Chayks I've been a SC owner since 2013. I've tried the Eliminators (both old ones and Demon Drives) as well, but they felt way too heavier than the Speed Cobra. As for the Iron Cobra HP200, they're way too cheap in comparison with the SC.
Bottomline, if you can afford a Speed Cobra, go and check them out. You'd probably would love to get them. Besides you've got infinite kind of settings regarding to angle, tension, height, etc., which makes it one of the best options in the market.
Eliminators have one of the strongest stock springs I've ever used. Well my belt drives do least. If you try them make sure the tension is less than half imho. However I also have the speed cobra which I keep the springs one rotation from maxed and they feel same resistance as my eliminator does less than half!! However I prefer my speed cobra and the eliminator been a dust collector as of late.
@@TheRealDorikko Do you think the speed cobra HP 310 is worth to buy ??
Santi Sugiarti I've never tried them. But, as I say, there's on better critic than yourself. Go check them out and let your feet decide.
Thinking about selling my DW 5000s for these.
Go with the Pearl Eliminators, better than both of em
@@mauriciocortezbowles6446 I already have two single eliminator pedals. I wanted to upgrade from my DW 3000s at the time so I bought the 5000s. I still like my DWs but I also enjoy the Cobras.
Jay Dude IMO the pearl eliminators beat the iron cobras and the Dw 5000.. To get to a next level in feel and smoothness ya gotta drop at least $700+ to get to a next level pedal/pedals. Axis, Trick, Czarcie Kopyto, maybe even the Demon Drive fits in that category as well.. Tamas new Dyna Sync pedals look very similar to the demon drive. I’m kinda bias with pearl, but they just never disappoint. Great pedals/hardware. Cheers
@@mauriciocortezbowles6446 I'm not a fan of direct drive pedals. I agree that the Eliminators are the best pedals on the market for their value, but like you I am biased towards DW hardware, they are actually more expensive where I am. The Eliminators are smooth pedals for sure. I think DW, Pearl and Tama make great pedals, but because I already own DW and Pearl pedals I wouldn't mind a set of Cobras.
@Mauricio Bowles Lol. eliminaters are generic trash.
the speed cobras are much better
I'm Ethan bradberry
funny h3 meme
I regret getting the 900s
Explanation?
@@davidb.8948I wrote that 5 years ago. I take that back haha
Man, you sit high
+Diego Vercesi you're right, he really does haha
that beater is garbage!! get a wooden beater. that beater will just go flat in no time.
Just switch the beater
0/10
They are garbage. You’re Welcome.
are they actual litteral garbage
