Not sure if I missed you mention it in the video Ben but a headsup to anyone else thinking of grabbing one of these - the glide function and (on the Erebus) octave switching is digitally controlled and only works when you use MIDI. I notice your demos use CV from the Keystep but realistically you'd be better off using the MIDI out to retain all the functionality (and you'd have had a trimmer controlled MOD output on the patchbay, too) - I can see that the glide is turned fully up on your first oscillator - I'm guessing you were trying to get it to work :) This is a consideration for anyone wanting to use it as a purely modular synth. I was a bit surprised by this but I routed some MIDI to the rear of my panel in my rack to keep it clean :)

Hey Benn, great video, I love Dreadbox. They have a great ethos and their filters sound so buttery. Question: any reason you chose the polyend play over a deluge? they seem somewhat similar, but maybe I'm wrong about that.
I imagine Benn gets a lot of mileage out of the generative sequencer options of the Play. I personally think the Deluge is better in most regards, but the Play's sequencer has a few more tricks than the Deluge, from what I've seen (even though the Deluge sequencer is itself a total beast!)
I get the Trump embargoes sucked for consumer prices but on a geoeconomics viewpoint its a good thing. Stuff was way to cheap anyways pre 2018 and only led to e-waste and blind consumerism. We need cheaper food, not cheaper electronics. Great demo video btw. I own both and clicked with them instantly. Sold some other synths I had because of them and now waiting for my Nyx Reissue to arrive and hyping myself with some dreadbox vids!
I love little USB-powered stuff like the Waldorf Streichfett. But there's nothing interesting about the Hades/Erebus. A module version of the MicroFreak with USB power would be popular. If Dreadbox made an analogue Solina I'm sure it'd be a lot better than the ugly box Behringer is working on. But it's confusing to see them repackaging stuff that wasn't popular the first time.
Wait, are you saying Dreadbox are repackaging stuff that wasn't popular the first time or Behringer is? Because the Hades is sought after and the Erebus is praised and loved by many.
It's entirely irresponsible for you to be complaining about pricing for products designed and made by a few people in a small shop who have families to feed, ALL WHILE ASKING PEOPLE TO PAY YOU MONTHLY THROUGH PATREON for providing opinions in videos. I have the first version of the Erebus and it's one of the best sounding and versatile mono synths that I've ever played. I'm lucky and honored to have been able to own it, especially knowing that it came from people that you can actually get to know. And it cost less than anything put out by Moog, Behringer knockoffs or Arturia. Honestly, most of you UA-camrs are getting stupidly arrogant and all you do in your videos is complain about tiny things, as if that's what people want to hear when they click on what is supposed to be a review.
What else could you expect from someone who blames trump in supply chain issues? 3 years after trump is no in the office anymore. He could put everything on Roosevelt, no difference.
Buddy, by all means, if you'd rather watch an influencer not mention personal preference or supply chain issues causing a price increase in exchange for paid promotion, you should have no problem finding that on this platform. The problem is, a small company like Dreadbox can't afford those videos because they're competing with the marketing budgets of the bigger brands. Me asking for a whole $1 per month keeps videos like this honest. And if you didn't notice, this is an extremely positive review. 🤷🏻♂

Gee whizz! Some tasty pieces of Muzak you got outta these
And welcome Nymphs to my synth petting zoo!
We want the Abyss 2
I’d have to agree.. “shit’s fucked.” Cheers
boink boink, this gonna be good :D
Dug the expression pedal jam!
You got a nice new haircut! 0:23
It's actually wednesday, nice
Small person big sound
You lost weight over Christmas? Congrats! I hope you are not sick.
Haha thanks! I'm only sick on the rowing machine! 🥦💪
More like its BENN a few weeks! Ha! 😃
Portable dirty analog... have you been researching what ticks the algorithm?
Congrats on the weight loss, looking good! Any tips? 😅
Eruption!!!
That tariff comment didn’t age well 😢😢😢
Too expensive imo.
wooot
I love the little you.
Selofan- will give you a better idea how they sound in music.
Loved the jam at 90 bpm. Looks like some fun equipment but I wouldn’t buy it.
A year later and your comment about Trump Era Tariffs not being renewed is so sad!
Use the thinking 'head' to absorb the content and the message in this video....n things will become obvious.....
Dreadbox is my least favorite synthesizer company.
Why?
because Behringer makes better gear@@Eurystheas
