Just did my first shot today. Couldn't believe how easy and pain-free it was. My main concern was that it was more of the regular diabetic needle, not the pen. Don't be afraid, there is nothing to it except remembering to TAKE it the same day every week. Best to all new Ozempic users!

Good morning. Just took my fourth .25 dose today. Can someone please explain titrating ti me click-by-click? My dr said I could ease into the .5 dose that way. I will still study comments closely for this but I’d appreciate any guidance. Thank you.
One week after using Ozempic, it was my turn to do by myself. It wasn’t working. I went into the doctor’s office. As I was waiting to be seen on how to use it, I UA-cam it, landed on you and glad that I did. I went into the restroom, injected myself and left. Thank you. Saved me time and money.
I have been on this diet called HMR and I started Ozempic 3 months ago. I have lost 42 pounds because of the Ozempic and dieting, My A1C went from 9.2 to 7.0 The first 2 months I had a lot of nausea and lightheadedness and now I can't even tell I'm on it! Give it a chance and stay on Ozempic. It definitely helps something to kick in and to help you lose weight.. I went from 381 pounds to 339. I am on a very restricted diet but if i had to guess, I would say Ozempic helped me lose at least a pound and a half every 2 weeks. just guessing though but it does work because I was on this diet before and I lost much much less. It also curves your appetite like you wouldn't believe. Before I could eat a whole Pizza and now I would have to force myself to eat a 2nd slice. Good luck everyone.
Just wanted to add another note that i don't believe has been mentioned yet. when injecting mid area stay about 4 inches from belly button on either side. I don't know why, just what my doc said, so passing it along. 😃
I’ve been on Ozempic for 11 months and I have lost just over 43lbs, I have under active thyroid and weighed 271lbs before I started it, it’s fantastic, I have never been able to lose weight continuously with zero plateau, at the beginning I was using a recumbent bike every single day and using hand weights whilst cycling but I stopped that around March or April and im still losing about a pound a week doing nothing, I definitely eat way less as this medication changed me completely how I was always hungry and was snacking, I literally just eat when im hungry now and I think that is the key, I a, more mindful of what I eat and I try to eat more fruit and veggies, previously when I have joined the gym on multiple occasions I lost around 15 pounds working out like a dog religiously 3 times a week but Ozempic has changed my life. It’s very strange to me that I don’t feel hungry all the time, I just don’t need to be eating as much as before, my appetite is simply eat when necessary, I do believe my stomach has shrunk considerably and losing over 40lbs for me has been fantastic, I want to lose way more bc I’d be happy at a size 16 or around 160 pounds and im currently 225lbs I haven’t weighed this low since 1999, the weight has slowly been creeping up on my constantly and it was getting to the point that every time I went to the Drs and was weighed I was consistently weighing 3-6 pounds more every time. I have way more energy and can put my socks and union without feeling like a weeble about to fall down, lol. Initially I was a little nauseous most of the time but it was manageable and bowl issues were not dramatic except around the 3rd month mark I had severe constipation but one that went away I no longer felt nauseous and haven’t had any side effects since, I am so grateful for this medication but I am concerned about the fact that pancreatic cancer can be a rare side effect, I had breast cancer in 2004 and had 2 surgeries, chemo and radiation followed by breast augmentation, so I really pray that that won’t happen to me. I still like sweet things but I try hard to limit it. I was monitoring everything I consumes through a fitness app but it was so time consuming, I gave that up too. Anyway it has been awesome for me and I hope I can’t be on it for another 6 months or another year as I am worried to come off it and get all the cravings again. Good luck everyone.
5th dose and I just started.05. I loaded, injected, button went back to 0 and I let go. Then I pushed back down and counted to 6. I'm not sure if I got the medicine. Do you know.
Thank you for your post,my ist ozempic self injection 0.025 tomorrow and I'm scared stiff,...why ? Because it's new,I'm terrified it won't work and I don't lose weight, but I do know it helps type 2 diabetics.
I'm prediabetic as well. I just got mine today. I am going starting tomorrow 😊 I'm a lil nervous because this will be my first time to use it. But please pray for me it's a start for me I'm so excited for my weight loss wishing me for the best 🙏
I'm going to take it for the first time today, and I was SO nervous, but this was my very first video that I watched, and you made me feel SO much better! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for this video! ♥️
I agree as a person who was just prescribed Ozempic, thank you for showing the ACTUAL injection, I’ve watched lots of how to inject it but I’ve not seen any on a human, just on a lemon or hospital practice things that look like a sponges. ALSO thank you for showing the this is me part of forgetting to swab your tummy with alcohol swab.😎🤙🏼
I'm so glad it helped. It definitely helps to see someone doing it. It's a tiny poke, but I know it can feel so scary. I hope Ozempic works for you. Best of luck!
Thank you for posting this! I just got prescribed ozempic and was about to take my first dose and was getting really anxious about it since I’ve never done a self injection. So I watched the video and did it with you and it was super helpful! Thank you ❤️
I'm literally shaking in my boots on how this gonna go lol 😂 maybe I should take tonight that way if I get sick I won't be out and about barfing and stuff 🤭
Omg I can't believe it's been 8 days ago since this comment I've lost three pounds and not even quite sure how . I'm having very little side effects. The better I eat the less side effects I have , I know this because I had my monthly treat I think it was Burger King 👑 man when I tell you I was sick as dog I was praying 🙏🏽 if you help me through this I will be good 😭😢😩 So to the new comers watch that fat and sugar ❤️
I am so very glad I found your community. Today I did my 2nd injection of Ozempic. My sister helped me last week, so today I was scared stiff. So I found your video , as I refused to be defeated. You made it so easy. Have not had any issues. My eating regime has changed in one week's time, so I'm excited. Better eating and exercise...let's do it. Thanks and I'm headed to find your other videos.
And thank you from Western Australia. I picked up my first pen this morning, realised I really needed to watch someone real inject themselves (instead of the medical vids which showed a block of plasticine getting jabbed), did a search on YT, and yours was the first to come up. It definitely wasn't as scary or painful as I was expecting, so thank you!
Hey from NSW, I'm starting on Monday and usually I'm good with medical stuff but I'm balling, nervous and just down right terrified. Pamela it was so good to see your comment. How's it all going for you?
@@Lara-Darling Hi Lara. It's going well (except for the four weeks after the 6th dose in the first packet when there was an Australia-wide shortage and I couldn't get it). I was a little concerned about going from the .25 to the .5 dose but it was fine! The needle is really fine, thinner than the lancet of the BLG monitor, and I don't really feel it going it. Well, I do have enough padding there. :) I do have some background nausea occasionally but nothing to worry about. Good luck!
@@ruthjohnson1135 Hi Ruth, look I'm not sure. It was such a small needle that I barely felt it myself and I hate needles. It's so teeny tiny and I found it dream to use. I had my second dose on Monday and again. Hardly noticed so pushed it in a bot more than I probably should have. Good luck with everything. Let me know ow how you go ✌
Thank you so much for this video. I just took my first dose and was so nervous. After I watched your video I knew exactly what to do. Please keep providing us with updates! You look great and best of luck to you!
It’s really really effective when combined with Intermittent fasting. I’ve been taking Ozempic 2 mg a week and have fasted extensively and I’ve lost 40 lbs. The shot helps make fasting easier by curbing appetite and I also found that the amount of side effects I experienced decreased while fasting.
Your video is a life saver!! I was so nervous until I watched this. I was able to follow along with you, it really was easy and pain-free!! Keep up the wonderful videos💕
Thanks Hangry Woman! I show your video to many of my patients (I am a family doc) to decrease their anxiety about starting Ozempic and they appreciate you!
I'm so glad it helped! Sometimes you leave the doctor's office with new meds, and you don't have enough time to ask for a demo - or they don't give you one at the pharmacy! I've been there.
I'm so glad it helped! I know that first injection is so hard to get through mentally, but once you do the poke and realize how little it stings, it's not so bad. I'm happy you made it through!
Thanks for this. I just got my pen delivered a few days ago and I've been hesitant to take it. I'm not diabetic, but my doctor suggested it for weight loss, as an alternative to gastric bypass surgery. You made it look easy, so thanks again.
@@lynnwantstotalktoyou2373 Yesssss...I've lost 11.1 lbs since 7/20. I started drinking 64 ozs of water daily and no alcohol at all. I get full after a few bites, so essentially I'm just taking in less calories, but other than that, I haven't changed what I eat. If I exercised, I probably could have lost more.
@@TheWriterGalintheATL I'll be new to Ozempic here soon, I just wanted to ask how your side effects have been so far? I hate throwing up and I'm so scared! Have you gotten a lot of nausea?
@@margot3mory The only nausea I've experienced is when I overeat. You can not over eat. When you are satisfied, stop eating, because you will not feel well. Other than that, I've only experienced mild headaches that go as quickly as they come. Now, the constipation is real. I went one week with no bowel movement, so I started taking a non-stimulent stool softner (Mag 07), and it works like a charm (no stomach aches). And since 7/20, I've lost 20 pounds. I've been taking .5 for several weeks now because of the pen I'm using, and I didn't feel comfortable sticking myself twice to get the 1.0 dose. I start that dose next week. Give it a try. I also stopped drinking alcohol and I've been drinking 64oz of water a day, but I haven't changed what I eat AT ALL, and I haven't exercised AT ALL, which I'm not proud of lol. I need to do better. I hope it works for you though. Keep me posted.
Thank you for sharing your journey with us. I know it’s not easy but thank you. I’ll be starting my treatment with ozempic tomorrow and I’m scared to be honest and even embarrassed but your videos are a big help! Thank you
Thanks for sharing I was scared taking this , it wasn’t like the Trulicity I was taking the pen so seeing the needle made me nervous. Watching you was so helpful! I did mine right along with you . I was a PRO , very simple and easy ! Best wishes with you care ! We got this y’all 🙌🏼🙌🏼
I was so nervous about my first shot. I kept picking up and putting down the needle. Then a friend told me about this channel and my goodness. Thank you for this video. I was able to take it as you took it. I felt less alone! I called the friend back and they told me to get over their fear of the needle as well. They watch you every time to distract them. It helps!
This warms my heart so very much and I’m glad it helped to get you through the first injection. It can be really hard to do it the first time on your own, so I’m glad I could be a little bit of moral support for you both. Here for you anytime! 🫶🏾
@@lekishalyles4721 I lost 35lbs in about 5 months. I was quite pleased with my progress but hit a plateau in January and have been unable to get the meds for over a month. I gained back 8lbs but that's it. Restarting at the end of the month!
First of all I want to thank you. I just received my prescription of Ozempic and was struggling to learn how to use it properly. I finally went back to the doctor to learn but still felt I didn't pick up enough. After watching your video I fell more confident. Thank you again
I KNEW I could count on UA-cam for a video!! Thank you for posting this!! I was overthinking this shot, & the instructions didn't help my anxiety. I'ma visual person, so this was perfect!. Still a lil apprehensive about possible side effects, however, I'm going to bite the bullet & get started. Again, thank you for sharing this video!
Thanks for this video: I was set to inject my wife with this medication but felt rather squeamish about doing so in the stomach area, but this video GREATLY lessened my fears and objections. Performed her first injection in years with neither drama nor pain, primarily due to your assistance. Again, thank you! Cheers!
Thank you so much for the video. It is my first dose of Ozempic. I was sitting for 15 minutes with the syringe in my hand afraid to stab myself with it. I pricked myself and found the needle sharp so I was afraid that injecting it would be worse. I watched your video and finally just took a deep breath and DID IT. And I was shocked to discover that I didn't feel ANYTHING! I am sensitive to pain so I was sure it would hurt but as I said, I felt nothing at all. Not even a needle prick. So I am now on my way to weight loss! Thanks again! And all the best to you in your weight loss journey.
Thank you so much for this video. Of course, I didn’t think to watch a video until AFTER I took my first dose, so I did it wrong. I held the needle in long enough, but did not keep my finger pressed down on the button. There is always next week, and I now look forward to feeling better!! Much Love and Many Thanks!
You're welcome! And you probably did it just fine. As long as the dial goes back to zero, you've injected all of the medicine. I tend to hold it down just to be extra sure (I'm so used to doing it that way with other injectables like insulin!. Good luck to you with Ozempic!
@@TheHangryWoman Ohhh, then maybe I did do it right! I took my hand off the button and then counted to 6. The pen did go back to 0, so that part worked. Thanks again!!
My husband just started this. In the pharmacist wasn't 100% clear neither was his doctor. But the pharmacist did say food confused there was UA-cam videos. Thank you so much this helps immensely!!!! Unfortunately we should have watched your video first because I think we just wasted a dose. But thank you for the video.
I seriously learned how to do this by watching your video. The pharmacist didn't even help me. All she did was read the outside part of the box. Thank you.
I got my prescription for ozempic today and thanks to your video I felt confident that I knew how to do my first dose - it was nothing! The little pictures on the box are helpful and all but I’m a visual learner so it helps me to see it being done in real time. Thanks for posting this!
I will be starting this tomorrow, I finally got it covered by my province's prescription plan, otherwise I wouldn't be able to afford it. Thank you for sharing this, it's been super helpful! 💜💜💜
thank you for this. I was shown in my doctor's office but the DR didn't know how to do it - so the nurse focused on the Dr and not me. Now, I feel confident I can do this myself. Thanks! Be safe and be well!
Mia, thanks so much! I was just prescribed Ozempic right before Christmas, so your video was a huge help! I’m a big wuss when it comes to injections, but I’m all set to go! And great idea to set an alarm to remind you when to take it!
I am so glad it helped! I was really scared of injections when I first had to start them, but then after doing it it wasn’t so bad! I thought if someone could see me do it without flinching or wincing (even as a big scaredy cat about it) it might help them feel like they could do it too ☺️. I hope your injections are going well! Ozempic has been so helpful for my blood sugars. It’s been unbelievable!

I'm so glad! I promise it's one of the easiest injections you'll take. You may have a little pinch, but it's like one second. And it's great because it's once per week.
I just watched the video and gave myself my first injection right along with her. I felt nothing! I’m excited for this to help me on my weight loss journey.
Thank you. I have recently started on this drug and my nurse, pharmacist and I all were confused as to whether it was single dose and a spring loaded syringe. I wanted to make sure I was taking it correctly by putting the needle in before pressing the button so your video reassured me. I only leave it 3 seconds to go in fully as this what my box says? I think I may have messed up my first two injections as each pen has 4 doses and I was curious to see what happened at dose 4. I kept turning and pressing and two more doses came out so think I messed up two as this is week 4! You can't turn the pen when it's empty! Just to reassure anyone who is needle phobic the needle is so fine you don't feel it all! I'm now waiting with anticipation for the weight loss.... And sugar drop!
I just started with it last night. As someone who has never used a self-injectable medication, I found the included paper fold out instruction guide very helpful. Things they do not include that you will need are a sharps container (thick durable plastic such as a laundry detergent bottle, good lid, clearly labelled in all caps as SHARPS), alcohol prep pads, and either cotton balls or small gauze pads. Good luck!
I just started this last week. I have hypothyroidism and keep gaining weight and my doctor finally agreed to put me on something for weightloss. She suggested this. I really hope it helps start. I am also go in to the gym and eating healthy. Fingers crossed. Thank you for the video.
Been on ozempic now for 5 months next week, .05 first 3 months, lost 26 pounds A1C went from 11.4 down to 6.4, the last two months went from 6.4 to 5.7 also loss a total of 37 pounds in 5 months. Don’t see my doctor until end of October, I don’t know if she’ll continue my meds because 5.7 is considered pre diabetic and it should go down some more.
She might get you off it. Congratulations happy for you. I was 5:7 and went to 6.4 They prescribed mine. Doc said if I go back to 5,7 am off. Which is pretty good. Less side effects. Congrats on your journey.
I watched your video and it was very helpful as I took my first injection tonight. Thanks for being open and honest. I pray you continue to reach your goals.
Awe Eva! I'm so happy to hear this was helpful! I know taking an injection for the first time can seem daunting, so I wanted to show that it's so quick and painless. Good luck with your first one! You can do it!
Thank you for this video. I just started Ozempic last week and I was afraid I didn’t do my injection correctly however, after seeing your video, I know that I did it correctly. Thank you.
Thanks for this video. I’m a little nervous as I will be starting to give my dad these injections next week after I ask the family doctor a few more questions 😁
Good luck! Some people experience some side effects with the first few injections, but after that it's not bad. It's once weekly, so it's pretty easy, but he'll notice his blood sugars improve almost immediately.
Just finished watching your ozempic video. Thank you so much for putting this info out there to help people like me. Today will be my first injection and you’ve made me feel less afraid. 💗
Thank you from Canada! One of the easiest to follow tutorials. Keep up the fantastic work. Subscribed as well to learn how to cook. A question though, the instructions on my pen says that it no longer needs to be refrigerated after the first use and is good up to 8 weeks after opening, do I have a different type- it looks exactly like your pen.
Thank you thank you thank you. I was prescribed this yesterday and the pharmacist didn't give me instructions on how to use. I did read the instructions but this was way more helpful.
Thanks for this video Queen! I’m currently on Ozempic, going into my third month but I’ve been giving my shot in my thigh and I’ve found that my leg will be sore afterwards. Do you have soreness injecting in your stomach? Thinking about doing that instead.
I tried my 3rd site in my thigh and I found the same thing! Although the needle is small, your thigh might still be too muscular to get the injection just under the skin, and you might still hit muscle. No soreness in my stomach, and the good news is that stomach sites aren’t painful either! Just make sure to rotate your injection sites to give each area time.
Thank you for having this video My doctor spoke so quick and everything went so fast I wasn't sure how to give it to myself when I got home so this video was very helpful
I gave myself my first shot today and noticed a drop left on my tummy after I was done. I did wait until the clicker went down to 0 but I’m still worried I didn’t get the full dose. Anyone experienced this?
It is completely normal for a small drop to be left at the injection site. However, when you inject yourself keep it inserted for a count of 6 seconds before removing to ensure full dosage.
@@peggynorton5535 I double-checked the enclosed leaflet from the manufacturer to be sure, and they recommend counting to 6 before removing the needle. 30 seconds is bit long but you won't harm yourself by being extra careful! :)
@@miss_ayla that's good. That's what my nurse told me to do. She takes it too. Lost 35#s her first month! I dont know her dosage. Mine is .25 for 6 weeks then I go back in and see how I'm doing.

Thank you so much for putting this out there. I’m about to go to pharmacy now and do my first dose when I get back. My doc told me it was an injection but I misunderstood and thought it came in pill form too. Not too crazy about injecting myself but I’m sure I’ll survive. It seems simple enough, thanks to your tutelage.

Thank you for this video…I recently got diagnosed with diabetes and was trying to keep it a secret from my family. My grandma found my ozempic in the fridge & surprisingly she wasn’t upset. She told me she knew it would come time for me to start taking insulin since diabetes run on both sides of my family & I was also constantly thirsty, etc…It is just so draining between the insulin, checking blood sugar everyday and taking metformin. Again thank you for sharing this, I really appreciate your video. ✨
You are incredible! I am switching from Trulicity to Ozempic and was kind of overwhelmed because Trulicity had one pen per dose, whereas Ozempic had multiple pieces and one pen. I appreciate your video and just subscribed to your channel. Again, thanks so much!

Thank you for sharing! I just got it prescribed as well
5th dose and I just started.05. I loaded, injected, button went back to 0 and I let go. Then I pushed back down and counted to 6. I'm not sure if I got the medicine. Do you know.

I agree as a person who was just prescribed Ozempic, thank you for showing the ACTUAL injection, I’ve watched lots of how to inject it but I’ve not seen any on a human, just on a lemon or hospital practice things that look like a sponges.
Good luck!
Pamela I felt the same way after watching this video too!!!
@@Lara-Darling hi, I just took today for first time but didn't feel the needle, is that normal

I love it it curbs my appetite. I have lost about 15 pounds
That’s awesome!
How long u been taking it for 15 pound loss
It’s really really effective when combined with Intermittent fasting. I’ve been taking Ozempic 2 mg a week and have fasted extensively and I’ve lost 40 lbs. The shot helps make fasting easier by curbing appetite and I also found that the amount of side effects I experienced decreased while fasting.
Your video is a life saver!! I was so nervous until I watched this. I was able to follow along with you, it really was easy and pain-free!! Keep up the wonderful videos💕
I just brought home my pen. No one showed me or told me how to use it, your video has saved my day. Thank you so much for sharing your journey.

It really is easy. Just keep it with a healthy food plan and light weight movements for our body we can do this.
How is it going so far? Have been sick? Lost any weight?

First of all I want to thank you. I just received my prescription of Ozempic and was struggling to learn how to use it properly. I finally went back to the doctor to learn but still felt I didn't pick up enough. After watching your video I fell more confident. Thank you again

I just started with it last night. As someone who has never used a self-injectable medication, I found the included paper fold out instruction guide very helpful.

Thank you for providing this video. I start Ozempic today so I have a bit more confidence with what I am doing.
You are incredible! I am switching from Trulicity to Ozempic and was kind of overwhelmed because Trulicity had one pen per dose, whereas Ozempic had multiple pieces and one pen. I appreciate your video and just subscribed to your channel. Again, thanks so much!
Thank you so much for this video! I have to take my first dose this morning and I am VERY anxious about it! Your video has given me more knowledge and a little less fear. Thank you.
Thank you so much. I did not know I had to turn the dial until I saw any number, I was counting the dots. Dr prescribed it but did not actually educated me on how to take it. I decided to look up a video cause it wasn’t working for me and I wanted to make sure I was doing it right. Which I wasn’t. So after 2 weeks of counting dots, I finally took my shot correctly today thanks to you. 🎉 Thank you!
I just took my first shot of Ozempic, and I’d like to say your video made it a lot less scary! It felt like I was taking it with someone, so thank you!!
thank you for showing this, I was nervous doing this but you made it look like no big deal which helped with the anxiety
Your video was very helpful. Tonight, I took my first injection. I'm nervous, scared, and excited for this new journey😌
