I started changing tires for my dad at his gas station when I was 10. Weighed about 80 lbs. My dad showed me all the tricks to getting them broken down and the tires on and off. We used a manual tire changer (Tireman) and bubble balancer both of which my dad still has at his home garage that we use occasionally. They're over 60 years old.
I know this is late but wanted to comment. I drove Bug for 14+ years. Over 115K miles. Original everything. I was in the process of rebuilding the pan. Went on vacation and when we came home the Bug was gone. Small town grapevine my neighbor reported it as an abandoned car. The place it was towed to wanted storage fees, towing and a bunch more bs. It was more than I could afford so I sold it to the guy for cheap. Great neighbor.
That is stealing! I would have called the cops!!!! You can't just call and say someone's car is abandoned, they would contact the owners first. What kind of hillbilly town was this?
@@grantkoeller8911 I know Grant. It's a small town where everyone knows each other. It's just that the neighbor lived there way longer than I. I guess you could say he had pull with the local police. I was away which made it easier to have the car taken. Wish I knew my rites better at the time.
I have a 1969 GMC pickup truck my grandpa bought brand new. It's been sitting in my backyard for about 6 years, not running. I remember going fishing with my grandpa when I was a kid. Good memories. One of these days I hope to get it running again and restore its beauty! Not quite sure how to go about that, so I'm watching youtube videos.
That is a good truck my uncle had one with his he had it and it had to be 6 in it same here nothing runs like a champ for a long time it's gone and so is he God Rest his soul
wow that sneak peek was a throwback for me, my father ,rest his soul, got me a 72` Super Beetle when I was nine ,we ran through it and took it a step further to make it road worthy and we painted it up just like the Disney variant as i had the 4 original movies on VHS, lol, I cried when we had to sell it,it was a fun car as he let me drive it around the neighborhood and didn`t tell mom x,D
My first car was a 1969 GMC pick up, the guy just rebuilt the engine, it had some minor rust he didn’t want to fix so he bought another truck, I loved it me and my girlfriend had allot of fun with it 👍
Hi from Pennsylvania, enjoy watching your videos and I love that you give God the glory for helping you work on your projects. Keep up the great work! God bless you
Dad's are great, and your's Lance is a good guy. Even us older guys get a little shock now and then, but not very often. God bless and thanks for your time again letting us watch.
Iv got a 63 VW I bought 15 years ago now you got me thinking about pulling it out and working on it it's got big wheel and it's slammed thank for the motivation
Poor old pops is always getting shot with some sort of fluid hahahaha, loved the video, thank you and god bless you for inviting us into your shop. A+ in my books👍👍
Missed the live telecast but enjoying it. As always you guys bring something fantastic. Love your work, your conversation and the way you both share details. Stay safe and blessed
Amazing find you picked up! I just did a 1970 GMC utility truck will it run. Mine was a half ton, six cylinder automatic. Welcome to the GMC utility brotherhood Lance!!!
This was great, I am really happy that you did this one, I love it. I also have a 68 c10 six that has set in a field for 30 years that I am working on very similar to this. Thanks Guys, God Bless!
California in the house. Love watching Father and Son working together. Keep up the good work loving you guys. 💗💗🇺🇲🇺🇲✌️✌️👍👍😀😀😀😘😘🌴🌴From your #1 fan in California-- Debra
I'm surprised that carb actually worked. I have a 53' Desoto that sat for 30 years and the bowl of that carb was full of dust and the jets were all plugged up. I had to rebuild that one to get it to work. You made out on that one. It actually idled!
You guys are in this video, working on my most favorite GMC body/ grille!!! 69 model . A 3/4 ton model like this would make an Ideal trailer tow-er to take "foundlings" to the shop to restore them!! I just wish I were on a better financial "boat" to help y'all fund the project.
And Christian also you do a wonderful job keeping all those cameras going and all the videos that's just as much work as working on the vehicles their self you all do a wonderful job your friend Dave
Gotta love that old stuff.U Guys look like u have fun.Good looking truck.I'm a GM man.God Bless you.Like your Name too.Restored goes alone I believe with Reborn.
Been not doing to well lately my MS became active just won't to say Absolutely love your Videos Praying for Blessings for you and your family God Bless
Yes, absolutely love the little super beetle and how you guys did it. The only thing I probably would've done different is the engine look. Since I don't know how much of the engine was stock, and how much was aftermarket, I probably would've kept more of the stock parts, but I also know you had limited time to get enrolled into that car show venue. Very well done, I've always dreamed of being part of restoring a car.
I just watched the video where your uncle Frank . My condolences to you and your family. I know he's in a better place and looking down on you from above. Death comes at the worst of times in life.
I have a grandson that loves Chevy trucks. He also has a GMC and a Ford .He won't let anyone play with his Chevy but would give them the other ones to play with. Nobody played with his Chevy..
Dont know how bad these old tires are or whether you can get the beads back with that Slime stuff but when I usually get tires that don't hold air, Slime does work pretty good. The Slime can get the inside pretty icky and I think mechanics get annoyed when people use that stuff but it works pretty good to hold air for a good while. The live stuff is pretty good, I think it keeps you guys on your toes and it works in the effect you can release more content this way. Some people may not like it due to it's more time consuming to watch when it can typically be done with 30-45 minutes. It all depends on the person 👍
Great truck, big fan of old GM machines. Had a 70 Nova with a straight six, last I heard the third owner had 495 thousand miles, and still running. Want a good work truck, leave the six in it. Just a cool truck.
Please repaint this truck college team colors. Maroon, and gold, Blue and orange, Red and white, for a college party truck. Find a college, any college, then paint in college team colors!
Those old 250 motors can go hard if you show em some love. I lived in Australia. Early fords I owned had 250 or 200 in. Went good in light body cars 4 barrel car extractors. Bit of head work and cam. Away you go
I suggest concentrating on doing more pre-edited videos. I am kind of missing those since starting as Restored. I feel not many of us will sit through a 2+ hour long video without fast forwarding every couple of minutes. For e.g. this one could be condensed to 45 minutes, some music added and it could still contain the best parts of the revival process. This could affect your desired 100.000 subs too. Consider this. All the best to you guys.
I know I am late, I am sorry about that........but if you want a real utility truck make that one a one ton duels. She is about as old as me and I love what you guys are doing to them.
I don’t know if you are having the issue I’m watching this after the live stream and the sound isn’t matching in sync talking with nothing moving. Delay or something.
I love that you always mention god, GOD BLESS TEXAS , it is where i live and i am proud to be a texan.
Father and Son together is something in my life at 62 is just beyond my reach. But a pleasure for me to watch. Thank you

Many times the older simpler tools work better.
I LOVE that you are still a Father and Son Duo and that you keep your family in it too, keep it up. Thank you!

I worked for a man one summer helping paint houses. He had an ol blue 69 GMC. He had that truck everywhere. Hard work but some good memories.

I remember when I knew a plumber who had one like this but is was a Chevy , he took such good care of it always spotless .
My uncle had a 70 chevy pickup . I loved that truck. He sold it when he bought his new Dodge truck back in 2004.
Yep, B'ham is under a tornado watch 'til 1AM. Haven't seen our satellite signal since about 3 PM. Glad I still have an antenna.

How are you guys, and whoever saved her life, it is as if he saved all people.
Yes, absolutely love the little super beetle and how you guys did it. The only thing I probably would've done different is the engine look. Dump some trans oil in the valve cover , help with the valves
We used a quart of kerosene and straight 30w oil ran a few cycles drained and quoted the lifters down
Thanks for the entertainment , glad you got it going .......
I never catch a live but never missed a show

I'm fixing up like your red one and usually the rescue Trucking. Carrie Everything you can in it.
You just can’t kill a 250 GM engine. Very well built and tough!
H8 my nana john love the car😂
It looks brand new inside and out
If you don't mind the cries of sacrilege, you could stuff a Power Stroke in it....
I like your hard work and video exploring work , finally you both are very hard work and started 1969 GMC Utility Truck after 35 years .
I hope to see more videos on this truck!
I love the red truck
I don’t know if you are having the issue I’m watching this after the live stream and the sound isn’t matching in sync talking with nothing moving. Delay or something.
