RESTORED _and_ Vice Grip Garage together! What a treat! That was an absolutely delightful video to watch. And that sweet ol' girl runs beautifully. Why in the world did they park such a great car so soon? Over two hours without one single cussword, too. That is how it is done, you young guys.
The trans fluid coming out of the freeze plug could be from the internal radiator tank having a hole in it and when you guys fired it up the trans started pushing fluid through the cooler lines right into your water I had the same problem with a bronco I was building last year, I know this post is 4 months after you guys put up the video but I couldn’t find a part 2 or another video on it so I figured mossel give you guys the idea just in case you see this somehow, hope this helped
Reading this a little late, but I had the same thing happen as well. 1989 Chevrolet Z24. Antifreeze turned brown and the dealer simply flushed it. I told them it was not normal. 6 months later, the transmission failed. Apparently, transmission fluid was leaking into the antifreeze, and antifreeze was going into the transmission. When repaired, dealer found the coolant line within the radiator had a small hole in it.

Just got home from work a little bit ago and got done watching Derek with his part 2 of the revival on that 1963 Buick. Now to see him working with u guys is such a treat. Great stuff on your channel, keep up the great work!!!
Your ballast resistor is to keep the contact points from burning, at least that is what they taught us in auto school back in the early 70's. The resistor should reduce reduce the voltage going to the coil from 12 volts to about 6 or 8 volts when running. there should be a wire from the starter solenoid to the + side of the coil so you have 12 volts for starting. These old engines will run for just about forever if you keep them cool and the oil changed. Great to see another one being saved. Great work Guys!!
You guys are doing a great job. Bring back old cars to live again. Great teamwork. The good thing is that the body of old cars are more stronger than of now a days. When somebody hit your car it’s like butter before you know it, it has a dent.😢 I enjoyed watching….God bless you all.
I bet if Chevy ford if any one of them came out with a new model looking like one of theses old ones they would sell like hot cakes, especially with all the modern things added air, power windows they could be great sellers
That was the perfect ending last night. Derek saying, 'THAT was weird!'. When Vice Grip Garage says it weird, it's really out there! Looking forward to the autopsy video.
I sat and watched every minute of the video, loved it too. Derek is my favourite UA-camr, loads of silly "Derekisms" to make you laugh but you know he's got the skills to pay the bills. As far as collabs go this was brilliant, can't have been that easy to spend 2 hours on camera when you guys don't really know each other, that said I love the live format of your new channel, no one else is doing this and it's a very different vibe to the typical edited out video. Hope you get her on her feet.....we had a 57 Chev wagon when I was growing up. Same color as the one your working on. Had a 3 on the tree and a 8 under the hood What a blast to drive. Good menories. Bless ya'all.
When they had the rear end jacked up and tested the tranny, they put it in drive and the wheel spun trying to take the car forward. At 1:33:47 when they put it in reverse, the wheel still turned forward and they said "it's going in reverse" when it clearly wasn't. I would repair the floor pan too. I like having intact feet.

Hey Guys, Great video.....loved that Derek stopped by to give you a hand ! So nice to watch the patience and respectful way you all pitched in and confronted that old car thats been for too long standing ! But you brought her around, sure she was deep sleeping and it must have come as a Big Surprise to her im sure to get another shot of juice down her Ap ! But you got her on the cook now and Im sure you,ll get her back where she belongs....humming down the Highway !
