It is scary to think that the hypocrisy of a believer might harden an unbeliever in sin, and confirm them in their course towards hell. Spurgeon seeks to warn those who love the Lord to walk carefully in His steps. We need to travel consistently toward the glory, and purity, of heaven.

Very convicting, Lord, forgive me of my guilt dragging others down to hell and for being inconsistent and lukewarm, may you change my heart and give me the grace and ability through the Spirit to change. In Christ's name amen.
I'm guilty as charged and so trying to be better about this. Please Lord Jesus forgive me for this and help me be more like you.

The pain we pay for Christ is small in comparison to His suffering on the cross for us. God cements this truth in my heart so I may be preserved from self-pity.

Christ was made a curse and forsaken with the punishment from the Father in our place, and many professing “Christian’s” use that as a license to sin. 😢
Christ took the most low seat and humbled beyond comprehension, in doing that living a sinless life, was exalted to sit next to the Father in the highest place in Heaven possible.
Saw the title coupled with the name C H Spurgeon and had to click on this video: Listened to the sermon, ended up on my knees in Godly sorrow asking my LORD to forgive me for anything I've done within the past 56 years of my life that hardened hearts to Him and softened minds to remain in sin; I rose up off my knees in thanksgiving, a repentant heart and joy and faith that I will live out the rest of my life bringing glory to my Heavenly Father and Honor to my LORD, Savior, Best Friend and Brother Jesus Christ!

Hello. I hope you don't mind me bringing to your attention that while reading the Bible on my own, I've found that it never once says that Jesus is God. If you look for a plain scripture where Jesus says, "I am God," you will not find it. Nor will you find anyone saying "Jesus is God." The vast majority of churches in the world teach that Jesus is God, which according to my recent discoveries, is a doctrine based solely on interpretation. That's very dangerous, especially since God says he will not share his praise and glory with another (Psalm 42:8).
Remember, this is Satan's kingdom we're in right now, and I believe this is the enemies booby trap under the church waiting to go off at judgment. Look at 2 Peter 1:1-3... "just as there will be false teachers among you, who will subtly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them... many will follow their shameful ways, and because of them the way of truth will be spoken evil of... they will exploit you with false arguments and twisted doctrine."
"Denying the Master," how? As shown above, by taking the glory and praise due to God and placing it upon his Son, and exhalting him as God when he's a man like you and me, who has the same God and Father as you and me (John 4:22, John 17:3). To say again, detracting from the work of who and what Jesus is and did, which is his rightful glory, and putting God's glory as Father and creator on Jesus. This worship is causing the Son to eclipse the Father.
Jesus never said "I am God." We shouldn't put words in his mouth.
Amen to this prayer. I covet it. Lord help me too.
I too have prayed to God to "turn the evil to good" that I ignorantly caused to others throughout my life in my actions or lack of action, but mainly from my own careless mouth . . .
PLEASE LORD GOD, whatever I have done to put a stumbling block in another's way, cause that stumble for them to land securely into YOUR open arms of grace & mercy . . . Please make me aware of these careless deeds & guide me to correct this behavior in myself, to replace it with THY Will.

DISOBEYING THE WORD OF GOD IS NOT SUBMITTING TO GOD IS ENMITY AGAINST GOD.

How many Christians run around the shops HUNTING for eggs at Easter and tire their families out at Christmas, when those same Christians are told to NOT join pagan festivals!

I heard about this guy,but rarely listened to any thing he preached. This dude is deep.

Hearing this again days later, it has convicted me much more; as if it hardly had much affect first time through it. Oh may God grant us some depth in these evil times! Our Father!!! It seems when wisdom hits me deeply, on comes the devil with increased fury! God help us to resist him in Jesus' name!
I have neighbors who, for five years, have ignored and turned their backs to me while smoking on their patios 20 and 40 feet away. One just moved away. During a rare occasion when we all tried to "socialize", she has told me outright that she doesn't like my beliefs. I pray for them. I'm so happy to discover this channel! Wonderful narration! I love Spurgeon's thoughts.... praise JESUS!
Scripture says that God created the unbelievers for their purpose and that is to help bring about righteousness to those who might be saved. Unbelievers are enmity to God and the Word of God is not meant for them. The world needs no judgment for it is already judged. When an unbeliever dies their flesh returns to the earth and their soul remains upon the ground like chafe blowing in the wind. Concerning those who are sent out before the world to minister the word of truth. It is not to the world that they minister but to those who dwell among them who are on the verge of saving. Christ shall take the very words they speak and cause them to go into those whom He chooses and to grow therewith. This is how the good seed is planted by Christ. To plant the seed any other way is to plant a bad seed showing that you truly are of your father the devil.

What has any of these to do with the message of repentance Surgeon, C.H. preached? You are quoting a text which is so irrelevant to what I just heard. Man let's be serious.

So eye opening indeed. As a born again saint we must be ready for the time is coming when our neck will be severed from a guilitine from the near future of tribulation. You and I must cowboy up in the Holy Spirit brothers and sisters. Pray for strength!!!

@brandedforchrist what's not about salvation? Israel's 70th week? It sure will be for them. They've know since the Prophets began writing about it that would be a time of testing and trial by fire as gold through a furnace, and only those who endure it all will be saved.
Under Israel's doctrine, they don't get their sins forgiven until Christ returns to earth. Acts 3:19 and that was spoken by the prophets since the world began. Acts 3:21
But that is Israel's doctrine. The Body of Christ Church is not part of their doctrine. We only began with Paul because Israel fell and diminished.

There Jewish Christians, there have been Christians before Paul came on the scene, Paul did not start anything, the church of Christ already began on the day of Pentecost, that was the day God sent His Spirit to dwell men and seal them for redemption.. @@brandedforchrist You're mixing Israel's doctrine with Paul's doctrine for the Body of Christ Church. The Body of Christ Church did not begin at Pentecost, that was all Israel. Acts 2:14, 2:22, 2:36
Israel was supposed to be a light unto the Gentiles. They will be a kingdom of Priests on earth. The whole world will be blessed through Israel. Every family on earth will be blessed through Israel. But they (Israel as a nation) fell in unbelief and they diminished and salvation (was of the Jews) has come to the Gentiles. Romans 11:11-13. This was never part of Israel's prophecy.
We (the Body of Christ Church) are fellow heirs and partakers of His (God's) promises BY THE GOSPEL, and not through Israel. Ephesians 3:1-6. Israel is still fallen in unbelief.
But they will rise and shine as a light unto the Gentiles during a time of darkness (Israel's 70th week, Tribulation, Jacob's trouble). That first century chosen generation (1 Peter 2:9) missed out because they rejected their Messiah and their kingdom. But there will be another Chosen Generation as we see in Revelation 7 with the 144,000 Jews. They will once again be preaching Israel's Gospel of the Kingdom in all the world before the end comes (Matthew 24:14), which is what the original Apostles were sent to do. The Great Multitude are those who will be saved through Israel. But that isn't the Body of Christ Church. We don't need Israel to come to Christ. We only need to believe Paul's Gospel of Grace.
But yes, in this Dispensation of Grace, there is no distinction made between Jew and Gentile. Before this Dispensation began with Paul, there was a distinction made between Jew and Gentile (go not by way of the Gentiles). After this Dispensation of Grace is over, when Israel's 70th week begins, there will once again be a distinction made between Jew and Gentile. See the 144,000 Jews and notice the distinction.
Israel is blinded until this Dispensation of Grace for the Gentiles is over. Romans 11:25

Quite convicting. As others have stated this 165 year old message is still fresh. I also observed that the eloquence of the English language has been desecrated. I'm touched by those moved to humble repentance as was I. Some I fear need to replay the message as they were moved to declare that "others" should repent, denying the possibility that "they" could ever behave pridefully or covet or be greedy or be uncaring or grumble or lack joy or cause strife among the brethren while immediately arguing doctrine. I should think that had I looked anywhere but internally I had missed the point entirely. The peace and love of Christ be with you all.
Yes, the "eloquence of the English language" as you put it, caused me to listen more carefully & intently - "Whoa, he is talking about me!!!"

Yes! I have been hurt the most and right down "stabbed" right in my ver spirit at the perfect moments. By churchianity, christianese speaking people or real ones...The Enemy loves using them most, his best tools to cause deadly hurts and evil woundings to the sheep. You will find the enemy operating at "churches" to be his number one joy and pleasure. The dangers a far more subtle, evil and insidious...you know what to expect from the fallen and dark world, but have to be discerning in different ways when I go to a church or "church."

The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

Destruction and misery are in their ways:
Just had another revelation here in Psalms 9:17 and Romans 3:16 the wicked being turned into Hell and all the nations that forget God. Of course to be turned into Hell that is to suffer from destruction and misery being in their ways reading these verses would make sense why they need the gospel of Jesus Christ Himself cause its the only thing that will save them from the things that cause such destruction and misery.

Jesus said follow me. Obey me.
Repentance is to turn to God. To submit to God and be done with anything you know God doesn't like. To submit your whole life to Christ. That is repentance unto salvation.
Once a person is born again and recieves the holy Spirit God will sanctify that person. He will cleanse them of sin and idols.
Ezekiel 36 tells is what happens to someone who is born again and saved.
25I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. 26I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. 27And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. 29I will save you from all your uncleanness.Then you will remember your evil ways and wicked deeds, and you will loathe yourselves for your sins and detestable practices. 32I want you to know that I am not doing this for your sake, declares the Sovereign Lord.
1 John says This is how you know who is born of God or of the devil. Anyone who practices sin is not Gods child.

No! Satan cannot use saints! Because to become saints you have to be chosen to be saved, converted redeemed and born again from above in Christ's Spiritual Church from above! Then your spirit and soul is hidden in Christ and God in heaven until your flesh body(your enemy) dies or still alive when Christ returns for His Church! But what Satan can and do use are(disciples and later calling themselves Christians)! Because the word disciples in the scriptures can simply mean students of the Word that's been called to be saved by the hearing of the Word. And you should very well know that Many are Called but Few are Chosen!!! For you to say when Satan uses Saints, the chosen to be saved converted redeemed and born again from above in Christ's Spiritual Church, the Spirit of Christ is certainly not in you but fallen into apostasy believer churches with wolves in sheep's clothing for pastors and preachers! These wolves in sheep's clothing has been around ever since the first century of the Church Age! The apostle Paul warned his disciples in Acts 20:29 just before he departed from them! 😭

However, the title of the video is a bit misleading as to all the wonderful points brought up within this sermon, to guide us how to recognize weak areas that perhaps we need to recognize in ourselves & strengthen or safeguard.
In your reply, you seem to have no understanding that fallen into apostasy believer churches and wolves in sheep's clothing can and preach the truth written in the scriptures! In fact, they are the ones that's been evangelizing this world for centuries! Not only the biggest over two billions congregation who calls themselves Christians in the Catholic Church, but also from all denominations of protestants calling themselves Christians! Because the word disciples and later calling themselves Christians simply means students and learners of the Word after being called to be saved by the hearing of the Word. Does it mean they are all saved? Of course not. Because many are called, but few(puny) are saved!!! Did the Holy Spirit manifested personally Himself into your mind verbally when He is sent down to each of us after we are chosen to be saved, converted, redeemed and born again from above in the spiritual Church of Christ hidden in Christ and God in heaven until our flesh body dies or still alive when Christ's soon return for His Church. Well, our mind is the only place in our flesh bodies where He can become our Teacher from then on and not man. Because not only our Teacher in the scriptures, but into all truths. Satan has divided Christianity since beginning of time. Look at all the so called religions and denominations.
I believe this. I also believe that the vast majority of the churches in this world are teaching that Jesus is God and that that is very much not true.

This one misses the mark somewhat, sorry. The irony is I think Satan used spurgeon in this one to make issue about things that ought not to be, particularly in regards to how loud the church is or not or how emphatic the preaching is or not. The key thing is that you get the message that was passed on through the apostles about eternal life, irregardless of the style of presentation or the energy of the congregation.
That is why we breed churches that champion sin. Godly sorrow is missing. You do not care how much you are used to turn away sinners from Christ, how difficult you make the path of sanctification for new believers and how damaged the Christian’s you beget now are. Gossip, complaints, murmurs, slander, lack of sorrow, full of the cares of the world, full of pride, full of immorality, cold-hearted and ruthless. Such is the life of many Christian’s, such is the life of many in YOUR congregation. They will not stand the rest of time if we were at the time of Paul. We would just as soon serve Baal at this point!
