    Style, comfort, the Italians described the 75 as the best looking car. Some accolade. The 75's ride, finesse, an absolute joy to drive.
    For me, the best all round car in the business.

      Nonono! The best front wheel drive cars are Citroens....

    The tourer is better looking than the saloon. I've had one for the last 5 years, still love it, it's hard on the wallet though!

      I've got two; a Rover 75 diesel and MG ZTT 190. They're both excellent cars.

    Great review. You caught the essence of the 75. I felt like I was in the car.

    Oddly I think it was ahead of its time. Just about every new car from the last two years I see around Portugal has chrome window trim, skirts, mirrors, grilles and bumper surrounds.

    Very professional review of a car which in my opinion was one of best Rover ever produced.

    Really good review. You are right the 2.0 V6 was a bit lazy off the mark and below 4000rpm. On the plus side very smooth, refined with a great engine sound. To be fair like you said above 4000rpm it really goes well. I always loved the 75 inside and out, quality car. Probably the best riding car I have sat in to date.

    Clarkson tested the Rover 75 and when he used cruise control he complained there was no button to take it off cruise control, well its called the foot brake.

    You should try the 2.5 ZTT version with 18" alloys or even the 4.6 V8.
    I feel slightly sad for you that you've only just discovered these fine cars!!
    Had ours since 2005 and taken lots of flak from others who drive boring euro boxes.
    These have plenty of Achilles heels but all easy and cheap to fix.
    The other beauty of these is no depreciation. .......they can't go any lower.
    We've had the last laugh
    They will live on for a few more decades yet!!

      I feel sad I have only just discovered them, brought a 190 ZT-T a week ago what a superb handling beast for an 18 yr old fwd estate and I am used to rwd mid engined TFs. Even my wife who had the privilege of driving it home likes it.

    It's funny. A lot don't realise the 75 throughout its history has recieve about 30 different awards. It's not fast, but then it's not claiming to be. But what it does do well is cruising at speed. I have the saloon 2.0l cdt connoisseur se. Which has excellent range 723 miles on one tank with 40 miles left in the tank. Rovers best car was unfortunately their last.

    I own a CDTi spent a fortune on it, not thru breakdowns but replacing parts because its 18 years old. Car cost me £4000 in 2010 and has all the extra’s best car i have ever owned, he said push it and its lazy, maybe its just its so smooth accelerating mine is chipped to 163 bhp and is a dream to drive.

    I bought a diesel tourer new in 2001. Still driving it 189,000 miles later. One fuel pump glitch otherwise flawess. The diese is a little underpowered but mpg is great

    @EG Media theres a button on the center console to turn off the traction control the one in the middle

    • @EGMedia1
      @EGMedia1  4 роки тому

      This one only had two buttons: for hazards and central locking. Perhaps it was optional?

      @@EGMedia1 im not sure but i think it was standard but i've seen that people have been messing with your car, your have cruise control wich is a option and who put there did not even bother to put it facing the right way, its upsidedown, normaly the traction control goes on the place you have the CC button, i find it strange.

    The centre armrest is fine if you like to sit very low in the car, otherwise it doesn't really serve a purpose, apart from being an additional storage compartment

    Is the MG same as the Rover? sport suspension?

    why does the v6 have to have torque cause its a v6? its a 2.0 displacement NA so low torque

    • @EGMedia1
      @EGMedia1  3 роки тому

      Have always associated V6s with healthy torque figures (rightly or wrongly). The KV6 is unusually low in torque, not just because it's a 2.0 but it's also a remarkably short stroke.

    • @mikemayers9353
      @mikemayers9353 3 роки тому

      @@EGMedia1 yes wrongly . The only reason v engines have more torque than inline engines is because you can fit more displacement in a v than in a inline for packaging reasons . The porsche cars have a flatplane crank yet have loads of torque mainly because its a 4 liter in the package of a straight 4 . Btw did you ever think about remapping your diesel ? I saw the 114 and 129 making the same powers once mapped 150 hp and 360 nm TQ
