We really enjoyed this video! Stayed at the Chelsea the week before IKEA opened! The Chelsea is renovating their rooms and is an affordable place to stay ! Wish IKEA was opened when we were there ! We loved the cafe on the ground floor of Aura.
Ooo I love IKEA! The home of the LACK table - hands up if you’ve got one of those everybody 🤣. There are a few in my house 😀. I’m sure this store will be popular - it certainly is here, but my closest one is about 30 minutes drive away. Meatballs and apple pie a firm menu favourite here! Thanks for sharing! 🙂💜
Living close by in Cabbagetown, I will wait a month until the excitement wears off before going over to take a look. You mentioned the dead mall downstairs. Any time I have been down there it was empty. It is only a matter of time before Ikea takes over that space as well.
@@Neville60001 I was talking to one of the merchants downstairs once. I was told those spaces were sold to the merchants. Sooner or later they are going to want to bail out, leaving the space open to Ikea.
Your mention of the clothes hamper made me realize that mine is ancient. I've had the same one since I was a child so it's about 40 years old. I guess I've never had a reason to replace it. Anyway, I enjoyed the walk through the "urban format."
Great adventure! I went on opening day. Bad mistake! I liked it though and staff was very professional and friendly. If you order something and pick it up at an Ikea, there is only a $5 charge. Penguin is the other place to pick up as well.
This place is probably making boat loads of money every day. I went there and it's already so packed and people buying stuff left and right. Such a smart decision for them to open in downtown TO.
Do they have the traditional “shrimp & egg” open face sandwich there? It’s my absolute favourite & sadly the IKEA on the Queensway discontinued it 😢 it’s been a tradition for over 60 years 👍
Dear Mr. Johnny Strides....OK... Be prepared people... The most awesome adventure ride has been invented... More attractive than Canada's Amusement Park... More thrills than the festival at the Canadian Nation Exhibition Grounds... More enthusiastic fun than watching the Maple Leafs?... Holy smokes... And more exciting than watching an episode of National Geographic and the life of sperm whales and even more thrill-seeking than ascending Mount Everest... I'm talking about opening a brand new Ikea Store... Holy smokes!.... The action of bumping other patrons, deeking around obstacles, jumping over things, somersaulting over furniture, and people snacking.... It's incredible.... It's the most fun since the Egyptians laid the first giant limestone on the Giza Plateau more than five thousand years ago.... Ikea is a modern-day wonder and people watching this vlog are witnessing everything.... Johnny is Toronto's Vlogger.... the end.... Always in Good Taste... CHEERS!... Be Supportive and Subscribe....
For those wondering, here's a picture of the menu (I meant to add this into the video, oops). imgur.com/a/jh4wDzW

Why _didn't_ IKEA take over that 'dead' mall space too?

I thought about doing that and realized it would have made for more views, but I didn't want to deal with the madness lol. Glad you got out alive!

wow, used to be a parking lot when I lived down the block
IKEA should have sponsored this video. I’m definitely going today!

I wish they would open a store in Sudbury

I think so lol
Hey Johnny. Been following your channel for a while now. What is living in Toronto like? Cost-wise I mean?
Mr. Strides, did you capture any footage of the Gumball Rally that took over Yonge St. today?

I guess you managed to get in to record the hidden camera type video or did you ask for permission?
We have Ikea in the UK...But two hour journey into the next county from where I live...
Great video. Do they have car parking available?
No, they don't; if you want to get a large item, you have to have it delivered.

I'm wondering will there be a another video from Pickering
I think he just filmed the two on the way to Pickering and the way home.
There's one more to come but it's just the GO Station. Cheers

ALL MIGRANTS !
When are they going to have something futuristic and different.. the style has always been the same since 2007, even with the lights 🙄
Video starts here 3:04. Thanks for wasting 3 minutes 😒
