Is there a course (online or in-person) that shows where to buy handmade/machined bowls.. what each frequency is best suited for.. and if can be applied to one self? For example, there's brain stimulating devices (NeoRhythm) that uses a main 4 Hz (theta) frequency + 2.67 Hz (delta) accompanying frequency to help with sleep. Would love to try something similar using the Tibetan singing bowls/crystals and/or use binuaral beats!
Hi Ben, You can get tuner apps on your phone to calculate the frequency of your instruments. When trying to create this with tibetan bowls make sure you calculate it the same way each time.. ie tapping all bowls. We do also supply brain tuning forks that accurately calculate each of those brain wave states : soundtherapyshop.com/products/brain-tuners-set-of-5?_pos=1&_sid=b489d35c5&_ss=r
I have a question, I’ve been told with crystal bowls the intervals/notes matter a lot but with traditional bowls not so much. Because they have so many overtones that everything will sound beautiful anyways and there’s not one specific sound. Is this true? I’m trying to build a set but the first bowl was a random B, 624hz 😬
Yes, crystal singing bowls can be quite specific. With Tibetan bowls you just need to pick the method you are going to use. So let’s say if you use 3 Tibetan bowls, you should strike them instead of playing them around the rim and strike them as well, so try to be consistent in simply striking them. You just need to know what frequencies and notes your bowls are when you strike them all, and from that, if you can create intervals, that’s great! If not, you can mix your bowls anyway. You can even use a smartphone app to record the sound and they will tell you your frequency.
Sound Healing Therapy is indeed a very unique experience to have in person, however, healing sounds aren't bound by time or space, therefore, online sound baths are highly effective as well.
This may sound weird but does anybody else get a sort of metallic taste in their mouth when they hear singing bowls?. It doesn't happen all the time, or it may just be a certain note/octave or simply cortisol in my body? Just thought I'd put it out there.🤔
Your C major chord is not a major chord. Your E bowl sounds closer to a E flat making that a C minor chord. It's really nice though, I really enjoyed this video!
I have a pure F and a D bowl (which goes into a C#). Played together they register a G sound. It's a lovely combination. I'm wondering this would have a particular effect/use?
Hi Natalie. I'm not sure what your question is? Do you have 2 bowls? If so, the interval is created based on the difference between the notes and the desired effect/use is created as a result.
I would go with what you prefer as you will be playing them the most :) Here's a link to our blog for more free content that may help with your decision. www.academyofsoundhealing.com/blog
Stephen Plante thanks for your comment, the concept of musical intervals and their healing effects was taught by Pythagoras, so we are drawing on his wisdom and heritage.

Thanks Kristin. Yes it can be tricky with Tibetan bowls. Crystal singing bowls are great for pitch perfect sounds.

@@SoundHealingAcademyInt Hi, yes I have 2 bowls and used an app to find out which notes they play. Does the note have a particular effect?

@@SoundHealingAcademyInt I think he was referring to the tuning of the scale vs equal temperament.
Why only 6
There are 9, 4 over the head or crown chakra, 5 on the body side
