    In terms and conditions it mentions the art will not be loaned for exhibition without written approval of the artist. So question, as a collector and I post an image of the work I bought, should I be asking the artist for permission to post an image of the work? Or what if I haven’t purchased the art and am walking through a gallery should I also not be posting an image of the work? An excellent and informative episode

      Hi John, great questions. Whether you photograph an artwork you have purchased or an artwork that was on display at a gallery, the intellectual rights remain with the artist. You are allowed to post the artwork if you take the picture yourself in such a manner that the picture is not a reproduction of the artwork-for instance, hanging in your dining room or in the gallery. You took the photograph, so the rights of that photograph are yours. However, if you take a photograph in which the artwork is cropped and we only see the artwork and nothing else-almost like a reproduction-the artist is legally protected and is allowed to ask you to remove your post. However, in reality, most artists don't mind at all as long as you are citing them, tagging them, or mentioning their names in any way or form. I hope this answers your question well, and thank you for tuning in!

    I think nobody sells art without gallery intervention. And sometimes it's all online. So just a mere screenshot of the payment received from the gallery website would be enough to keep the records or pay the taxes. But this channel is the most helpful as I have found for artists all throughout the net. So I am grateful & thankful to CAI for everything that they or (he) came up with. Even I would like to thank that cute pet who has also been a delight to watch. Really CAI rocks guyz 🎉 (I would leave a request about the collection or sponsorship of "installation art"), if you would be kind enough as usual, please show some light brother...-Thankfully, me.

      Great point! With galleries, in my experience in Europe, we also need to write them an invoice to pay us to keep our accountant happy and theirs-but of course, this varies from country to country. In that case, you can either enter the total amount at once that you need to receive at the end of the show, or you could specify all sold works in the description as well-which can be useful later on to keep track of everything. I am very grateful for your most kind words, Perrier and I salute you! Interesting suggestion, I will definitely consider adding it to my (rather extensive) to do list for future videos. Cheers!

    Ive bought the template and have a question! Sadly, for my exhibition I didn't know this existed yet, so just had people pay and wrote them a simple receipt. How would I do this in the future, if people come in to the exhibition and want to buy a piece, am I supposed to have this invoice with photo ready for each artwork and then I fill in their details by hand? Or do I write a receipt and give this to them when they pick up the artwork? How would you suggest doing this?

    I really hope that this question will be answered and that the final word will be given to it
    Does digital drawing replace traditional drawing in this era?
    Is traditional drawing currently in demand and has a future as a profession?

    • @contemporaryartissue
      @contemporaryartissue  Місяць тому

      Traditional drawing-in the sense of working on paper-is as in demand as ever in the contemporary art world and the art market, as covered on this channel. Of course, in other industries such as illustration, digital drawing and now also with the arrival of AI, traditional drawing has been losing a lot of ground in that area. I hope this answers your question sufficiently? Thank you for tuning in!

    Can you make a video discussing New Media and video art ? I noticed a lot of videos focus on traditional art but there isn't much input on more tech based art work. That would be really appreciated

    • @contemporaryartissue
      @contemporaryartissue  Місяць тому

      Of course, that's a great point. We have covered video art discussing the most important video artists in the past, but for now, due to it being a smaller niche, we haven't tackled new media art from a more practical perspective. Any topic suggestions?

    • @adorkable7196
      @adorkable7196 Місяць тому

      @@contemporaryartissue As you mentioned it's quite a niche, so I'm curious on how one goes about marketing themselves as a new media artist, as well on the sales aspect of it. Traditional artist usually depend on Galleries to make their income, while I'm assuming New media artist tend to focus on grants and projects, so how does one go about creating and building a career as a new media artist?
