I took a turn from being a Doctor to pursuing art 🎨. And I couldn't be more happier 😁 for you too. Wishing you all success ❤
Fellow Systems Engineer quickly turning artist/illustrator checking in here! This tour was so detailed and answered a lot of my questions! Thanks so much for posting and I’m looking forward to visiting your shop soon!

I just started watching and i can tell this is gonna be really helpful! ❤
I was right, this video is really helpful as an artist myself ❤
Ahhh haha thank you so much!!! 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
Thanks for the tips! Just a suggestion about the website: the pages where you’ve got white type against the bright red background are really hard to read. The red is dazzling! Dark or black type against white reads the easiest. Cheers. 😊😊
You are totally right! I'll make sure to adjust the colors to make the text pop out more! Thanks for the feedback!
I love your illustration work BTW. It's very original and creative. Thank you for taking my suggestion in the spirit it was intended...to take your website from "nearly there" to "arrived!". All the best for your career and business. 😊😊
Amazing
I love how your website gives a friendly professional vibe and it is very well organized, clear and easy to navigate
Super helpful, thanks for sharing ☺
This was super helpful, and really motivating! ❤
This is SO helpful! I'm just starting and feeling a bit overwhelmed, but also so excited! Thank you for the guidance!! 😊
Thanks for the video and for sharing your beautiful artwork 😊
Your website is wonderful!! I'm just staring my own art website, and it's pretty tough getting customers at the moment. I know it can be tough in the beginning, but I won't give up. I appreciate your video. 😁
Thank You. This is so helpful. ♥
Your video was very helpful and your brand is so cool👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 so colorful and cute but really professional and unique too❤️ thank you for sharing your work and expertise
Hi Jen. I appreciate how informative and helpful your videos are. Do you have any tips on how to market your business online so that people visit your website? 💜
Thank you so much for watching! Im planning to make a video about this but the short answer is through social media! But I’ll give more details in the video😊
your site is the coolest!! i want to make one soon
Thank you!
So cute❤️❤️❤️
Just got laid off from my dead end datacenter job, so I might as well actually try becoming a professional illustrator for once. The absolute worst that could happen is going back to working another dead end IT job lol.
Wishing you the absolute best! I hope you find what you are looking for and I'm rooting for your success and happiness 🐻♥ I believe in you!
I love your content ❤
This was a very nice video :) very informative
Great video!
Very helpful ❤
Hi it's really helpful 👌🏻
Can you please make a video on how have you made your website
Hi Jen, your videos are always very helpful. thank you for always providing me with a source of inspiration.:) in a previous video, you mentioned that you eventually started selling on etsy after making your own website, if I am not mistaken. Can I ask what prompted you to do this? thank you.
heyy! youre right, I did eventually start selling on Etsy too. I did it to test out if Etsy would actually bring in customers. I saw that others were receiving orders without having to always market their products so I wanted to see how that would translate to my shop. And well it hasn't done anything major. In fact, I've only gotten 1 order in the last 6 months and I've decided to let the listings expire. But please note that I didn't market my Etsy shop on any of my social accounts. So maybe that could be a reason why it didn't do well. I plan to bring this up in a later video but its a good question to ask!
@@fructusillustrations thank you for sharing your experience. :)
Hey can you make a video of were we can also make our pins or mamo ..??!
how did you learn to use procreate? i’m so overwhelmed by all of the functions for it lol
What do you think of your badge maker? I’ve been thinking about making buttons but want to buy something that is not going the break easily. I noticed a lot of the badge makers like the one on your desk use plastic on the swivelling part that the punching dies sit on and I’m just concerned that it might start to crack over time due to the pressure being put on it. How long have you been using yours for and how is it holding up so far?
I just got my button maker in January and so far so good! Its not the plastic kind. I got the metal one for 1.25 inch buttons. The brand is vevor and I got it from Amazon 😊
How do u source stuff like pins to be made
😃
Stupid Question - why artists doesn't sell on multiple platforms which helps you reach more people ??
Massive competition
little/no control
Your brand doesn’t grow, only the platforms does
Your workload is spread too thin
Sales usually aren’t substantial
It’s not really YOUR business
Your work is much more likely to get stolen on other platforms
There’s lots of reasons why platforms like etsy suck for artists wanting to make an art business. If you want to sell art as a side hustle then it’s okay to use these platforms but if you want to make an actual business and brand that you want to put your time and passion into, then making your own website/store is the best way to do that.
Shopify is much better because you have all the control, but you need to know how to get organic traffic to be successful.
