1 MILE WALK | 1 MILE DANCE | Call it what you'd like but I say let's work out and have fun!

  • I love to dance so I thought instead of walking, let's dance! I created the workout so we'll do a different move to incorporate more muscles being worked in our arms and legs and then we'll dance (however you'd like) on the next move. This is a short workout for beginners or for those who only have enough energy or time for the shorter time. My hope is you'll get energized by the workout and want to do more! Often the hardest part of exercising is starting.
    You can call this a 1 mile walk or a 1 mile dance but as as said in the title, 'call it what you'd like but I say let's work out and have fun!'. So, let's do it!

    That was fun! My favorite so far -- went sooo fast! My daughter and I just finished it a few minutes ago, and we feel great! I missed the stretching at the end, but I loved the workout and am saving it to our Favorites folder. Thank you, as always!

      Thank you! Sometimes in the shorter ones I just put in cardio since I feel people are looking for a quick workout (and if I add stretching, my fear is people will see a longer time on the video timing, and will avoid it for that reason). I'm glad you both enjoyed the cardio workout:)

    so much fun again!The dance sections I danced like I was a teenager again but with the carefree joy of being older and less self concious(& dancing in my living room :) )knowing the work bits would work me but not be hellish. Warm up for strength again today, I only have 30-40 mins for my workouts so I have to plan x

    Hi Jules......did day 2 of the Kickstart Your Fitness program and this on, the One Mile Walk/Dance, so much as always. When winter comes around again in Wisconsin, all these classes are going to be wonderful because I can't always get out to walk and it is a nice change from the elliptical, but I do like too. I think I am going to pick and choose different workouts to go along with the Kickstart program until the one is finished. I am so excited to have so many choices to choose from.       12 lbs in one month is impressive! You must be working hard with a combination of exercising and eating healthy to see that much of a weight loss.     Loved this! I was looking for a short cardio for strength/weight days and this was perfect! I never thought I'd be modifying anything to make it harder, but I added intervals of jogging to the dance moves! Really got the heart pumping and rest of me is good and warm for my strength workout! Thanks Jules! I love all the variety on your channel!

    I loved all the energy and the music of this workout - thank you! That was so much fun! I found your channel at 5 months pregnant after recovering from a bad case of covid. I needed to very slowly and safely get back into exercise and to boost my mood, as I was feeling so low and my energy was so flat. I started by doing your "30 minute dance workout with 3100 fat burning low impact steps" twice a week, taking rests or slowing down during the workout when I needed to. From that starting point, I tried to stay consistent and added sessions weekly. Today, thanks to you, I'm 6.5 months pregnant and both my fitness and health have improved so much over the past 6 weeks that I could add this 1 mile walk/dance after the 30 minute dance workout, getting through both with no problems whatsoever! I'm so grateful for you and your channel!

    We are in yet another heat wave (99 today, 100 yesterday) so I chose a short video (the bonus was my favorite beach scene) . So tempted to skip it all today but am glad I didn't because it was fast and fun. I'm planning to do the 10 minute strength video in a little while.       Good for you for pushing yourself to workout despite the weather. A short workout is definitely better than no workout…and short is safer in those temperatures! Plus, I am assuming you had a/c or a fan on!

    Love these workouts. Had knee replacement surgery. These got me ready and then helped me regain full range of motion within 2-3 weeks. Now I'm doing these to build stamina. Love the newer music.

    Hi - good morning from CANADA! I just found you and I am not letting you go! LOL I am 81 and in piss poor health , sadly! I LOVE ABBA and the Bee Gees so that's a big plus already. I can't complete any of the videos yet but that's okay.....I will get there and if not, oh well!       Lol, I love your comment. Okay, so the fact that you are here looking for exercises is a great first step! I have lots of gentle and beginner workouts so maybe start with those first and then over time you'll be able to do the intermediate workouts. If you go to my playlists, I have the workouts grouped together according to fitness level. Here's a short 10 minute workout which might be a good start.     This was great for when I need only a 15-minute cardio workout. I would love some dance videos that have music from the 50s and 60s. After all, that's the music of us current seniors.

      I have several videos with popular, copyrighted music under the various playlists and levels. Usually with the 50's/60's, they tend to fall under the 'beginner level' playlists due to the beat. I hope to find the time to create another one soon.

    No need to apologize! This was great! Please don’t change Anything! I went back and did it again and before these two times, I did a half-hour one! I have my timing all backward, though. I’m usually in here exercising at around midnight or so. 🙃 But I’m a night owl who’s attempting to have a more reasonable, “normal”, schedule. So far it’s not working out very well! There’s just something about being up in the middle of the night that is peaceful. See you tomorrow!

    I love this workout on the days I am not wanting to exercise. Gets me go going and makes me finish with another session to complete my minimum of 30 mins target. Love the music too!

    The timers really help keep me motivated because I KNOW I can do 30 seconds of exercise and then when the next one comes up I know I can do 30 seconds of exercise and before long I’ve dove 10-20 minutes.

    Just finished 2 miles at the lake now this 1 mile absolutely wonderful cardio workout. You are correct. The song at 5.36 minutes is great fun. Onto strength 21.

    I do enjoy the fun dancey workouts - they don't seem like work! But I like the ones that count down the time instead of counting steps - they seem shorter, I guess.

    Hi Jules, I usually do your intermediate workouts, but now I’m at about 9000 feet for the next 4 months and I needed to take a step down to beginner until I fully acclimate, which can take a couple of weeks. Even this easy workout was a challenge-for now! Thanks!

      @@ImprovedHealth We have a second home in Colorado where we spend the summers and holidays. Even though there’s lots of hiking trails here, I still like to keep up with your cardio and strength routines.

      @@leaster1000 Ah, I see. I was thinking you're climbing one of the big mountains (Kilimanjaro) or something on those lines and getting acclimatized for a big trek. But, Colorado sounds wonderful:)
