i just noticed, when the word ends with that vowel i, native speakers tend to pronounce it like a vowel e which has sound of eh like sumindi- you pronounced it suminde matindi-my friend always say matinde sandali-sandale madali-madale and moreee
If a filipino mother tongue is tagalog and or residing in metro manila then i will change to eh when pronounced. If it's in the provinces and if mother tongue is not tagalog then i is pronounced.
sumindi, matindi is pronounced as i in the end. Sandali is pronounced as e if it is used as one word expression like.. sandali! which means wait! it really depends. not all with i in the end are pronounced as eh
sara = close mag verb magsara - infinitive nagsara - past nagsasara - present magsasara - future ex. magsasara ang mall mamaya the mall will close later um sumara - infinitive/past sumasara - present sasara - future ex. sumara ang pinto the door closed (by itself) in verb isara - infinitive sinara - past sinasara - present sasarahin - future ex. isara mo ang bintana (you) close the window ipa verb ipasara - infinitive ipinasara - past ipinapasara - present ipapasara - future ex. ipinasara na ang kalsada the road has now been closed

I think it depends to other people because I usually pronounce the "i".
Hi Gabriel, that’s a really good observation! 😃 Many Filipino native speakers do pronounce it that way if it’s at the end of the word.
