It’s really quite crazy but we respect the law and it’s just the way things are here, you can do a self build in Spain and it’s not actually too difficult comparing to other countries, but you CANNOT import a modified vehicle into the country full stop! So, import the vehicle how it originally is and then do the build afterwards is the only way around it we have found out.. We’re really hoping this is a blessing in disguise as taking the van apart we’ve realised we’d do a lot of things differently before putting back together.. We feel bad to have to have done this to such a good build but the van WILL be better than ever once completed again 🤞🤞

Guys, I've been watching you for 4 or 5 years now. I've been with you to all the countries you've explored in Vinnie. I'll never forget the brilliant idea of the hula hoop shower and your other adventures and stories.
Please, don't worry about those miserable sad sods who are just jealous and have nothing better to do than sit behind a screen and take out their sad, miserable, unhappy mood on others.
You are one of the most brilliant and strongest couples I've ever come across. You're an example of what a relationship and life in general should be about.
Keep doing what you're doing and don't worry about anything. If you need and can afford it, take a week off recording and have some time for yourselves.

I totally agree. The bad comments are not a reflection on Nick & Sarah. Its people who are jealous of the life you have which you have worked hard for. I’ve followed your channel for many years and you have always been positive and shared your good and bad times with us. Having to unbuild the van is bureaucracy gone mad and I think it would get most of us down. So the fact you still manage a smile is a bonus 😊
At 22:34 I know Nick was pissed off but he can’t help but let a little smile out for a brief second. I love how good humoured you both are through all of this. My back wouldn’t be able for all that physical work. Don’t let the begruggers get you down, they are just jealous. I’m delighted you got the van and you can put your own stamp on it putting it back together. It’s like adult Lego.

You guys definitely have my complete sympathy. This reminds me so much of last year when we moved from a tiny rented one bed flat in Essex (where we had been slowly going stir crazy over lockdown) to a three bed house in scotland, which we were incredibly lucky to be able to just afford, but which we had to effectively bid on unseen. Inevitably we knew we were really lucky to get it, and it was such a relief to know we were finally out of rental and were going to have enough space, but there were also unexpected hiccups and snags, like turning up on the first day to move in and realising that the gas boiler was condemned and needed immediate replacement when we hadn't allowed anything in the budget for replacing it before the first winter... No heating, no hot water for six weeks in the autumn!
TLDR we eventually managed to squeeze the money from somewhere but it left us very tight until this spring.
So I do feel for you as you keep hitting these snags, and sometimes I know it must seem as if the world is deliberately going out of its way to trip you up. I greatly admire the way you have kept banging away at it all, and I'm confident that like us, you will eventually get there, and be able to reap the rewards of all your hard graft. Until then rest assured that most of us are really enjoying being able to ride shotgun with you as you take this adventure - and as for the small sorry minority who post mean comments - forget them. They must be very small minded and petty people, who simply aren't worthy of your attention.
Awww, hey Jen, thanks for sharing your story here😊.. What a journey you guys had moving from Essex to Scotland, sounded like hard work but worth it in the end! Was similar when we brought this little old house in Andalucia 12 years ago and lived without running water and basically in a building site for the first year whilst we renovated ourselves, was tough at the time but still enjoyable looking back, gaining all that experience of ‘how to renovate’ a little stone house!
This little snag we’re going through now really is a minor one and as mentioned in the vlog we are truly grateful for what we have and always will be.. Yes, there are days when we need a little moan but ultimately life is good.. Thanks so much for watching..😁

I think any normal person would feel frustrated having to take apart a lovely van to jump through the crazy import rules. However, it is making interesting viewing for us and I am looking forward to seeing how you put it back and what adaptions you make. All those screws though! Ignore the sour grapes guys. You guys are awesome. This task of dismantling the van when you never built it, can be overwhelming. As a plumber and drainlayer who can build just about anything, I think that you are doing great, most people wouldn't dare attempting what you guy are undertaking especially under the watchful eye of cameras where haters can abuse you. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing.

I was given a great piece of advice a few years back.....'You don't need to justify or explain yourself to anybody, and 'we are powerless over people, places and things'. Those two little gems have helped me through many tough times. Of course, you are both really tired mentally, emotionally, and physically, so give yourselves a break. Please don't let the minority with their small-minded opinions and thoughts, steal your integrity, honesty, and joy for life. You are an amazing couple who give so much. Having to unbuild Frank and Emilys old van doesn’t seem the worst of the job, its the multiple trips from vinny , then carrying it from him to the house and fitting it all in your small home on hot days would make even a saint a bit grumpy. Cut yourself some slack guys, your doing great, progress is being made, a few months from now and this will be just a faint memory,when you have ya feet up in some exotic location in your dream finished van ❤

People often think it’s OK to be horrible and say unkind and unfair things ( we get it a bit, but we are a much smaller channel than you, so it’s not as bad). Just delete them. I believe that some people are so unhappy with their own (sad 😶little) lives that they have to share that negativity. It was actually good of you guys to include that you were having some stress and perhaps squabbling a little, because that is real. Those who 'know' you, understand that you're quite positive most of the time. It is heartbreaking to have to undo all the great work, and a testament to the great job that Frank and Emily did, that is a difficult task. Most of us are here to follow that great adventure, and cheer you on through it all. Cheers & Love 😘
It’s completely counterintuitive to have to disassemble a work of love. Perfectly understandable to feel the emotions you describe. If there were no lows how can we fully experience the joys? It was a tremendous undertaking to travel to collect the van while still working, producing videos. It’s far more absorbing to witness the full experience rather than a hyped up version. Well done for having the courage to put this video out.

It’s hard to please everyone, all the time .
No one can go back in time and change things .
Everyone is allowed to feel crap now and then .
However, you can’t control how other people feel , what you can control ,is how you react to how they feel .
Someone doesn’t like what you are doing ? Who cares ?
Friendly advice ? Great consider and decide if you want to follow it .
Decisions in the past that you don’t want to repeat ? Use them as a lesson that taught you something .
You love what you do .. don’t let how someone else feels , make you feel bad .
I think your situation is similar to a house renovation .
You tear out the old stuff ( which is a pain ) ..
When you start re building ( sometimes using some of the old stuff) it gets more fun .
Plus .. you are not doing it in Manchester or Glasgow in the rain .

May I suggest you purchase a cordless impact driver. I recently learned what they are for on a 12V or 18V level. They are for putting screws in. Once I understood I started using it instead of the drill when installing screws and it was a real game changer. You are labeling everything which is brilliant. Keep the labels on the wiring and in 5 years when you have to fix something you will be singing your own praises. May the DIY force be with you. I enjoy your videos immensely and Charlie is pure eye candy😍.

These sort of comments are usually bourn out of Jealousy and there is little you can do about that. We watch your channel ever week and love your videos. In our view you are the best channel of this type on you tube . Just settle in to the work you have to do and look at it as a learning experience. In the end you will know so much more about your lovely new home on wheels it will turn out worth it. Keep up the good work and keep Positive. If people have a go there even jealous or bored, tell them to do one, I've just done my basic van layout, and Incan tell you all the silly bits take the longest. It is a crazy situation you have found yourself in. But the out come will be awesome as I think you won't put half the stuff back in as it won't be needed. The space is more important. Hi guys, come on now, after all the stress you had in the UK with Vinny, then getting home to find rodents having a party at your house and now all the messing around and having to dismantle your beautiful van, I think you have earned the right to let off a little steam!!
Once you have the van stripped I can see your creative minds redesigning most of it to suite yourselves and Dizzie and Charley.

So difficult to take apart the Van in all kinds of ways emotionally too. You have the right to feel stressed right now that's okay. I we all know how grateful you are we know you are grateful. Soon as they say this to will pass.

Hi guys, love your channel. I live in Spain and built my own camper van. Vans in Spain pass the ITV every 2 years. If your build is not homologado in Spain, you will need to dismount your build every 2 years to pass the ITV. This is what i do. However, my build is modular and i take only 3-4 hours to take everything out then the same to rebuild. Keep this in mind. Build large modules that are easily removed and replaced. Good luck!

Ah but on the plus side, you have a working van and all the stuff to build it back and you didnt have to dismantle it in germany to get it into spain. I bet you will know every corner of it by the time its back together . Love how you keep it all light and cheerful as you go about describing everything.xx
