Y'know I think Aris hit the nail on the head here. Clearly Chun-Li heard MvC:I was looking jank and sent her stunt double Debbie Chesticles to fill in.
"You should like Marvel even though the graphics aren't good. If you don't, you're just a hater and want the FGC to die." *_WHERE WERE YOU DURING KOF14_*
Exactly. Plus it was SNK's first time making a proper 2.5d game in over a decade so you can arguably excuse them for how the game looked at first (it might not look as good as a few other games now, but fuck, at least it is vibrant AND they put out a free-patch to remedy the problem as best as they could given their resources). How long has Capcom been making 2.5d games for again? There is just no heart being put into MvCI by the development team. The impact of hits and the speed of the demo for MvCI feels way off too.
Jake Musumeci commercialization breeds complacency due to profit incentives. That's exactly what happened to capcom. If there nobody out there to question the status quo, capcom will continue to give shit
Jake Musumeci Fuck no I want the games to be good. The Moba community is full of autistic retards. The FGC used to be chill like minded people from all walks of life.
Afflictionnz I actually think his realness became more apparent since his recent success, becoming a viral streamer. It's because he doesn't have to eat anyone's shit because he's legitimately self employed.
Online3001 absolutely but the scary part is COD actually listened to their community and brought back the classic shit. Capcom completely ignores EVERYTHING their fans ask for
WutTheDeuce This is true. There's this ever pervasive mindset of being a "true fan" of a series or developer, and that by not buying their games you are willingly encouraging their downfall. It's like, there are currently a million and one people out there who are not getting my money, whose businesses will fail and leave them drowning in debt. Nobody can save them all and nobody should have to. We buy what we like. And criticism is the first step to ensuring that our voices are heard so we can have more things out there that appeal to us. Criticism is the first step towards improvement! One particular experience that stands out to me concerns Star Ocean 5. Early reviews of the Japanese version had come out and were saying the game wasn't very long or expansive, with only one planet to explore and only 20 hours worth of content, (which for a JRPG is pretty lackluster) an underwhelming story, plus the game itself looked kinda low budget anyway, with simplistic character models and animations. Now, I was originally looking forward to the game, but made a comment saying I wouldn't buy it based on the information given. Instantly some guy angrily replies to my comment, berates me for not being a "true fan" of the series, guilt trips me about the developers not having much of a budget, and that if we wanted to see a more expansive Star Ocean game in the future, we should buy this one or we're essentially just spitting in the dev's faces. The gist of my reply was "dude, you're right. I'm not a fan. I've never played Star Ocean in my life, but this could've been my first if it looked good. I could've become a fan. Instead I'll play one of the other hundred JRPGs out in the near future that actually appeal to me. No big loss, there are more than enough games out there." And then thankfully, as if to prove a point, Persona 5 surpassed all expectations. As consumers we can buy what we want for whatever reasons we have and not feel one ounce of shame for simply having a preference. If you don't want to buy Tekken 7 because Lei isn't in it, by all means, that's your choice, and you shouldn't be bullied or berated because of it. Heck, even if you didn't buy it because there's no Tekken Ball, it's your choice as a consumer! Buy what you want and don't give a s*** what anyone says!
Sean Fockadoo no it took 4 bad games from Activision before they listened to the community. They didn't listen. They saw battlefield do extremely well and jumped on the wagon.
I'd say this extends further than just the gaming industry. Criticism is slowly being deemed as hate and they're two different things. People criticize because they want it to get better, not worse. Sometimes people hate just to hate but I think those people fade away eventually because they don't have a good argument to backup their hate.
Subscribed. This guy wants to see the FGC do well. There's a lot of fighting games out this year and I want to be part of this community. But dang, does there seem like there's a lot of controversy going on.
kawaiiyobai Yeah, Tekken is a fun game, easy at the beginning levels but hard to master. Everybody goes throught that cycle. The beginning online days for me was filled with rage and throwing controllers especially Tekken tag 2 (horrible spammy characters). Now that I have matured, gain some experience of the game I realise my mistakes, I'm more cool on final rounds that makes you nervous. The tip I recommend is if you ever get angry at this game online, just take a breather. If you want to be better at the game watch king jae's tutorial on his youtube channel. Aris videos are mostly for more advance players, but some can apply to you. Movement and defense are the most important aspect of a 3d game especially tekken. Learning combos is easy, dont spend too much time on combos since in a real match you would be only be using a few combos the generates the kost damage. Spend time on breaking throws, sidestepping and fighting against characters you have troubpe with. For example use record function if you need to learn how to block your opponents moves or string sequence. Easiest character in Tekken for beginners... lili law paul feng alisa lars jack katarina kazumi shaheen claudio Miguel Leo gigas However it really depends on the fighting you like. Good luck.
I'll definitely check out this game. T3 and TT2 were fun, but I've been out of the loop for the series for a while. Im currently playing Injustice 2, but I don't think balancing 2 games at once would be too hard.
the problem is that Capcom can make anything no matter how bad it is and the majority of the FGC will still kiss their ass and call it ice cream. Until we as the FGC expect more, we will continue to get less
I think this is a good time to maybe, at least, start a change. So many other great fighting games have come out recently, and will hopefully set a new, better standard
the truly sad part is I love fighting games as a whole, but this shit isn't new. from the 15,000 different versions of street fighter 2 , the third strike community collectively losing their shit when basic changes were suggested to the fact that pros admit that street fighter 5 is a shit game yet they still play it.
aris is so on point. you are the consumer. for you to want to buy something, looks are almost always the first thing you really pay attention too. besides that, i agreed with every single point he made. like always, aris keepin it real.
MvC:I looks like no one cares about it. Like shit put out for the sake of putting out shit. No effort. No passion. You take one look at the DB fighting game and you can tell that the people actually care about that game. That's what matters. Your game doesn't have to be perfect but you can tell they actually give a shit.
Thank you, this whole trend lately of people trying to shut down opposing opinions is straight up stupid. If someone has a different opinion, shouldn't that be more reason to hear them out? Whatever happened to educating other people, instead of insulting and dismissing everyone else
Support quality. No matter how deep you are into the FGC, try your best not to feel obligated to get a game just to "stay relevant." I get it, fighting games are niche, and the community is small enough, but at the same time, it is doing a disservice to fighting games as a whole to support things which are poor quality. I made the mistake of buying SFV for that reason -- never again. Capcom as a whole has not put any love into any fighting game for a long time. There is nothing -- no attention to detail on anything, just a bunch of stuff slapped together to make a barely functional game. The reason the Dragonball game is catching attention is because ArcSys more than any other fighting game Dev actually CARES and understands fighting games, and they put a lot of passion into every project. They created their own way to make cell shaded graphics, used limited animation just to make Xrd look and feel like old school Guilty Gear. For DB, they are providing the same level of attention to detail, love and care. This is evident even just in the trailers with trees blowing when Ki blasts are going off, or the win pose of Goku being an homage to a past Dragonball Manga shot. They are doing their homework and making the game with as much passion as they would their own IP. Support ArcSys and every truly caring developer, any game you think puts quality and care first.
I concur, though not a fighting game take a look at witcher 3. That game is god damn good at almost every regard because the devs poured love into that shit. Look at sfv,you give a well deserved criticism and some fuckboi comes out talking about "haters being left behind". Wtf kind of attitude is that, the game barely works and the employees are giving the customers this attitude? Fuck capcom. They haven't made a decent game in ages.
Man, Im not even into fighting games. I just played T3 as a kid and was checking out T7 found your channel and just wanna say you are such a cool dude. Trying to help the community with tutorials and all that. By the way, how long did you let your beard grow? Kappa
I think what illustrates that Infinite is already failing hard is the stark contrast in response between Infinite and DBZ. It is CRAZY the difference. The roster of Infinite shows absolutely no creativity then throw in bland\aggressively ugly and still models and you get a very deflated audience. Then WHOOSH, in swoops DBZ out of nowhere and everyone is going banana balls for it 'cause it looks fantastic and it's got a cool ass roster. It obviously looks like love and care went into it. No love and no care went into Infinite, that's for damn sure. No one is saying "WHEN'S MAHVEL", the tune has changed to "WHEN'S DBZ". I just hope to god Capcom takes this negative reaction to their game against the massively positive reception to DBZ and take steps to course correcting Infinite.
This resonates with me so much because for the longest time I've tried to enjoy SF5, looking pass all the things I don't like about the game but I've finally had enough. I've since been playing Tekken 7 and replaced it as my new FG to try and go pro in until they change SF5 to the way I see fit.
Aris has said some real shit and this is probably the realist OF ALL the shit. And he mentioned Rival Schools? Where's my wallet I've got some donating to do
1. Be constructive. Tell them why it looks like shit with concrete examples 2. Be Persistent. Do not take "we're looking at it" for an answer 3. Do not preorder 4. Be fair and firm, and let them know you don't want a mobile game fighter 5. The FGC cannot function without real talk.
Just to keep it short, you've earned a sub. had a blast watching your video and think you touch very important subjects that affects not only the fighting game scene but games in general in this generation .
Every man has their price. What separates the weak-minded from the strong are the standards they possess and how willing they are to forsake those standards, selling their very souls for something that looked appealing but turned out hollow.
MvCI is an insult to FGC They pretty much outsourced this game to some mobile developer overseas. Plus they lazily reused all the assets and somehow made it look and play worse. Sickening what they did to Marvel. This franchise might die at this rate.
This has nothing to do with disney. Capcom has made better games with MUCH less budget. There is NO excuse for doing this to one of their most popular fighting games.
People always underestimate the value of beauty. Aesthetic design can be what drives a consumer to buy a product period. Also if you had the option of walking into two different buildings with a stark levels of build quality from the two. You would judge the building from the outside regardless of the interior. The game equivalent to that are the standards of beauty the common consumer holds versus those who can find beauty in the Indie market. Hell take it a step further and analyze how you look at people. Your gazed affixed to beauty while quickly dismissing anything average and below.
I think "looking bad" in this case means "not looking like the characters." Looking good means looking the way it should, not looking some loose version of "pleasant." Chun Li doesn't look like Chun Li. Thanos looks like a character from Barney the Dinosaur. That's the kind of looking bad that makes a game bad.
Wow, I heard this so much thrown around. I've got some of your videos suggested lately and I'm quite glad I watched them, but this one hit home and I'm definetly a fan now. I hate how games' potential often gets held back with the excuse of "stop hating/being salty/just adapt lol".
I agree with this, it's not only the face. I played the story demo AND I CANT STAND THE DIALOGUE AND STORY PACING. It's just SO BAD! For something that has been marketed heavily as a main selling point of the game (story) they shoudlve at least done that right. Hell even the returning characters don't have a new skin.
For a guy who has a weak PC hearing your opinion is very illuminating. i have a different set of priorities when it comes to Fighting Games but I do have to agree with the roster being a little shytty. For a game who removed assist, lots of characters from the middle part of the barrel could have been taken out. But hey who knows, maybe along the way we would adjust to this Post-Disney Marvel world.
When you spend full price on a game, all aspects should be on point. You accept garbage as a side dish they will eventually make garbage the whole meal
Great video. I've always said the same thing, the presentation is extremely important for fighting games. That includes visuals, animations, voices, etc.
Aris made a great point there ... I am a Kof player and 14 looked so bad I deleted it on day one ... now in 2021 all they did is revamp the graphics and gameplay wise it is almost the same game as seen in the trailers ... tbh cant wait to play it on release ...
I completely agree. Like the transition from KOF 13 to 14; yes, the game is functional and at least "lookable", and that's what you need, besides, it's not that when you play a match you pay attention at the character's models, but if you like a game for its gameplay, which is the most important thing, other aspects of it in which the developers put care and attention can make you like it even more. I wouldn't love KOF so much if it didn't have that gameplay, but the insane level of detail and care put into art direction, music, atmosphere and character design makes you adore it. 14 was a bit disappointing in that aspect.
I remember buying Tekken Tag 2, and getting the entire roster for free by DLC. I also bought SF4, realized I had to pay up to get characters ... nope nope nope. I'm not buying another SF game. I'd rather get KOF14. its about Quality and caring about your customers, not just trying to milk their money after they already bought your product. Capcom's business model is whack. at least Tekken players know when a new Tekken game comes out, its full of quality, a lot of work goes into the game to make it as balanced as possible.
There was a post on shoryuken a while back showcasing some artist taking models from the game and rendering it with different lighting and stuff and those renders looked amazing heres to hoping we get some graphical mods on the PC version of the game...this is the link shoryuken.com/2017/05/12/friday-night-fan-art-chun-li-and-mai-shiranui-face-off-plus-a-fresh-look-for-alice-and-kulas-character-models/
Same with Tekken. The game can have just some of the facets and succeed. Something like GG (which I don't play, but might pick it up) have both gameplay and good design/graphics. But there are far more games only having one of those components, regarding fighting games. The more important notion is, in which way has the "transgression" happened:) ie, the thing with mvci isn't about its bad graphics/design, it's about, well, primarily chun li and ryu looking really, really off. Plus the clarity is really bad, which is a technical thing. Animation, I haven't gotten to see much of it. If the shortcomings are offset by respective good things, a game can be good overall and succeed. Tekken's bad animation, atrocious texture work and awful visual clarity are pretty much COMPLETELY offset by the very solid gameplay, responsiveness and the notion that the game can be played at a low level (which is something perhaps no other fighting game offers). KoFxiv's very visible shortcomings regarding graphics, design, rigging and the whole plethora of things are again offset by the absolutely FANTASTIC visual clarity, for example. It has more clarity than even the most refined 2d games of old had. Perhaps sfv can come at a second place clarity-wise, but KoF easily takes the cake there through the clearer cut of background vs characters. That alone is medal of honor worthy. Also, responsiveness. GG has a bit of lacking clarity, also some dubious overlaps and background work - but design-wise and pure technical craftsmanship-wise, it's an aboslute champion among current fighting games and no game comes close. sfv might squeeze itself somewhere too, with design and quality of animation (which is pretty much unrivaled, a slo-mo showcase of Karin's moveset can be an example of design and animation and can serve as a demonstration at universities), but its riddled with other things, such as clipping and unsuccessful sporadic design (infamous ken, for example). Though, there's another thing. I am observing all this from a neutral, objective and professional standpoint, as a concept artist working in the industry. People usually don't do that. They will laud a franchise they like even for the franchise's shortcomings, considering them to be charming or even not knowing to differentiate good from bad, but acting on some subjective notion which might or might not be true. So, tl;dr - anything can happen, really. For example, Aris mentioned For Honor. The game looks good. But it's not the "good kind of looking good". Actually, even if the game played well, its looks would have to change or to be tweaked. The game looked good but in a cinematic sense. It didn't look WELL for what it was made for. The game needed to have more differentiated silhouettes. It had to have more visual clarity regarding player models. It had to have more pronounced team colors. It had to provide better sense of background vs foreground. And so on and so forth. A lot of these things, regardless of one's subjective outlook on them, have an objective technical effect.
SNK doesn't have Capcom or Marvel's funds. Considering the budget and money SNK has. KOF 14 after the graphic update looks pretty damn good. Luong, Zarina, and quite a few other characters. Looks tons better than the Marvel vs Capcom Infinite characters.
This has been an issue in gaming for the past decade now - people dickriding these companies when they continue to push out garbage. A little tough love is gonna go a long way towards helping Capcom be the best that they can be. Do not support this rushed piece of shit game, unless you want more rushed piece of shit games in the future.
I wholeheartedly AGREE with this vid man! Thanks so much for making it. I am especially disgusted by the dlc setup where Ultron Sigma is the big bad and Ultron is playable but Sigma is DLC WTF. Also Black Panther being revealed in the last trailer....as MORE DLC instead of just being revealed as playable to celebrate the upcoming movie. That being said we're in a tough spot, noone wants to eat the Marvel Cinematic Universe VS Capcom shit but if we dont support it we risk losing a chance at a sequel, Disney's all about that bottom line unlike the old Marvel who cared about the heritage of the game. If the series does die off I will mourn for a day and start Dragonball FighterZ on the next day.
finally someone says the true, the "FGC" should be the FIRST to demand QUALITY in any aspect in a fighting game. This game capcom keep doing with their games is so sad, why the rush? why make the things BAD!, why I should expect less from a company who prove he can do actually very good things, why this downgrade? ... All this greedy and disrespect for the fans and people should not be tolerated. If Capcom says: oh this game isn't looking like I wanted please give us more time to deliver a better game, could be acceptable. But what actually is saying Capcom now is: BUY THIS SHIT, also here DLC shit to buy, here a rushed demo, here a release date for this rushed game, whatever I dont care, just give us money. and guys If you want to support the FGC, don't buy this just for buying, because the only thing we are going to get is new games with less and less quality with more DLC's and more rushed.
Hey Aries! Great video, as always. I've been meaning to ask you firstly how you got to being a commentator, and secondly would you ever accept an offer of a permanent seat as a commentator for an exclusive contractor (as in you would commentate on a single game)? Thanks a lot man, I love all your content :)
Aris hit the nail on the head saying characters look like generic NPCs in a Silent Hill game, even NRS didn't fuck it that badly with their faces. Marvel was always known to bring excitement, now the main emotion it brings is worry. People are worried for this games life way before it even comes out. I say the game is clearly a rushed product. Maybe they should scrap this game and make Tatsunoko vs Capcom 2 for all the new consoles, at least that way they'll have an easier time using the entire IP and not being hassled by X Men legal issues.
Lol I thought he made this video special for the UA-cams. Then that donation went off and I realized that everything's gonna be okay. Aris still do what Aris do.
(I'm at around 5 mins but I feel the need to vent on this so sorry if I retread something Aris says) Not only is Aris right on, there's another wrinkle to the issue: **There's competition now.** It's an incoming age of variety. If Capcom doesn't want to shape up, make them feel it. There is absolutely no reason to stick with Marvel, if it sucks, due to Dragon Ball FighterZ now. And it hurts, because I love Marvel, and the gameplay looks fun and has potential, but everything around the gameplay REEKS of issues. I went from initial excitement to just...pained waiting, and then DBFZ comes in being all "Game Of Your Dreams." It's painful.
godgiven probably it's just I really don't want to wait too long plus some delayed that are delayed once usually continue to get delayed *cough*mighty no 9*cough*
Matt Kugelman i dont want to wait either but like aris said their are players that are in it for the long run. if the game comes out unfinished how could someone keep comming back to playing this game? it would be worth it to wait 6 more months imo
Here's the thing, a game can look ugly but still look great because of it's style. Third Strike is pleasing to watch because it's a good kind of retro. The Dragon Ball thing wasn't graphically revolutionary, but the heavy anime style makes it hella sick. Even Minecraft looked good because of it's simple and friendly minimalistic world. MvC Infinite just looks bad. They didn't aim for a certain visual style, it looks like they wanted the game to look GOOD by looking GOOD, but they forgot the only guy they had working on the game was Bob the intern.
i got this recommended to me after watching the Tekken 7 Julia/Negan Video. feel like the similar thing is happening with Jump Force right now, but not as bad
"Don't diss Marvel cause it's anti-FGC" *says BlazBlue and Guilty Gear are stupid* Least that's how it was for me years ago. I love Aris being real though. He makes so many good points in his arguments.
A capcom employee who made a tweet saying something along the lines of sf5 being great and people who think otherwise, or "haters," will be "left behind." It's a meme now.
I think it's also important to mention that looks/graphics get people in the door. When a FG looks good, people become more interested, especially if they aren't an avid FG player or new to the series. Someone is more likely to pick up a new fighting game that looks good graphically, and it's been a competition between fighting games to improve looks for a while now. MvCi just looks bad, everything from the UI to the characters, and it just makes me wonder how much effort went into development, and if it was rushed or not. I was excited for a new entry in the MvC series, but it looks seriously disappointing, even after the demo releases.
I really want Aris tees but I have never bought from teespring. Is the quality decent on sweaters and the gildan long sleeves specifically for Aris' merch?
Maybe I'm missing something but I played the story demo and the models look perfectly fine and are on par with SF5. Also, in motion the game actually looks pretty good. I would be more concerned with the game's performance and the fact that the story mode does seem to be very good. The gameplay is pretty fun but I'm a fighting game noob so....
When you buy a cake, you buy it because of what's inside and out. A good cake looks good and tastes good. Aris is on point. I forgave KoF once they fixed it a bit, but I'm glad they made an amazing game in the process despite what it looks like.
The discussion about graphics is funny to me because I was a Nintendo fanboy and "graphics > gameplay" was an argument I used for the Wii. But looking back, all the good Wii games looked good, even though they were on last-gen hardware: - Mario Galaxy looked gorgeous - Prime 3 looked gorgeous - TvC's artstyle looked nice - Okami's artstyle was beautiful MvCI is using hardware 3 gens ahead of these games and it's still ass!
Its very mesmerizing when aris said a few months ago. "they've been making fighting games for almost 30 years!" 2017 and we still get stuff like this? bruh...
it looks truly terrible but I have hopes that some tweaks can be done by release day or a delay to November might help. the look of the game is not unfixable it just feels like the need to add some shaders and rework the faces. the gameplay seems like it has potential at least so far. hopefully they listen to the reactions and make changes/delay the game by a few months to rework the character models.
The game suffers from the same problem Mass Effect Andromeda had in that during the story scenes their eyes are not expressive or moving. Chun li is the main culprit here (due to being ugly but her eyes being the largest) they just stare straight ahead and don't even blink when she talks to Thanos. Captain America also has this problem but it can go unnoticed due to his face being under a mask. Everyone looks like an action figure being wobbled on screen - the thing is though action figures have more expressions in their sculpting. This is also funny because apparently Hasbro is going to do figures of this game, which will no doubt look better than the in game models lol.
The quality of Capcom fighting games has been steadily declining since after Super SF4 and MVC3. Remember the long term support promises for MVC3 and how they released UMVC3 instead?
that was marvel tho, marvel are the ones that dont give a shit, ever since disney bought the damn thing, talking as a comic reader since the age of 6, marvel has being shit ever since the mid 2000s, and it shows even on MvC3
"Even if you don't judge a book by its cover, you have fucking eyes"- Ain't that the truth
low key one of my favorite quotes now xD
high key inspiring quotes
When the previous game looks better, that's a problem
Y'know I think Aris hit the nail on the head here. Clearly Chun-Li heard MvC:I was looking jank and sent her stunt double Debbie Chesticles to fill in.
Aris hit the nails on almost every topic he is talking about. Nigga's real for sure.
"You should like Marvel even though the graphics aren't good. If you don't, you're just a hater and want the FGC to die."
*_WHERE WERE YOU DURING KOF14_*
KoF14 looks amazing though. Did you see the difference that graphic update made?
I pre-ordered for both PS4 and PC's premium versions, lol.
That's what I was thinking earlier, I'm seeing niggas who shit on KOF14 and said it was ass defend the fuck out of MVCI.
Exactly. Plus it was SNK's first time making a proper 2.5d game in over a decade so you can arguably excuse them for how the game looked at first (it might not look as good as a few other games now, but fuck, at least it is vibrant AND they put out a free-patch to remedy the problem as best as they could given their resources). So true
Basically there is a part of the FGC that's getting commercialized. I like how RAW this scene feels and I wouldn't want it any other way.
Lewd Logic and that will only continue as the FGC gets more popular which attracts the mainstream.
Lewd Logic I prefer the commercialization
Jake Musumeci commercialization breeds complacency due to profit incentives. That's exactly what happened to capcom. If there nobody out there to question the status quo, capcom will continue to give shit
suddle nuance I don't know about you, but I want FGC to be as big as MOBAs
Jake Musumeci Fuck no I want the games to be good. The Moba community is full of autistic retards. The FGC used to be chill like minded people from all walks of life.
Everyone needs to share this video.
This is the realest I've ever seen Aris be
Galactic Specter he's always been real. His realness his skyrocketed after Tekken 7 released
Galactic Specter I found out about aris after getting tekken 7 and so far I'm a big fan he does keep shit real and I wish I woulda found him sooner
Afflictionnz I actually think his realness became more apparent since his recent success, becoming a viral streamer. It's because he doesn't have to eat anyone's shit because he's legitimately self employed.
SFxT was way more real.
too real.
Isreal.
Haha damn that one was good.
This way of thinking is affecting more than just fighting games. Its been a major problem in gaming for a long time, and its so fucking stupid.
Yeeeeeees especially the fps community (COD is a prime example.).
Online3001 absolutely but the scary part is COD actually listened to their community and brought back the classic shit. Capcom completely ignores EVERYTHING their fans ask for

kawaiiyobai Yeah, Tekken is a fun game, easy at the beginning levels but hard to master.

However it really depends on the fighting you like.
Until we as the FGC expect more, we will continue to get less
will johnson ,
SFxT was hated by pretty much everyone since it had the worst business practices ever seen in a fighter and the gameplay was seriously flawed.
I think this is a good time to maybe, at least, start a change. So many other great fighting games have come out recently, and will hopefully set a new, better standard
i mean this isnt even just a FGC thing. gamers in general will buy shit and defend the people who sold them it
the truly sad part is I love fighting games as a whole, but this shit isn't new. from the 15,000 different versions of street fighter 2 , the third strike community collectively losing their shit when basic changes were suggested to the fact that pros admit that street fighter 5 is a shit game yet they still play it.
"Chun Li looks like Sajam put a little makeup on" LMAAAOOOOOO!!!
Shit had me rolling
That's bullshit.
Sajam is better looking than that.
aris is so on point. you are the consumer. for you to want to buy something, looks are almost always the first thing you really pay attention too. besides that, i agreed with every single point he made. like always, aris keepin it real.
MvC:I looks like no one cares about it. Like shit put out for the sake of putting out shit. No effort. No passion. You take one look at the DB fighting game and you can tell that the people actually care about that game. That's what matters. Your game doesn't have to be perfect but you can tell they actually give a shit.

My fav arguement is "Do it better"and any variation of it...it´s so incredibly stupid and yet so common...fascinating

I always tell those people that you don't need to be a chef to know that food tastes badly.
Thank you, this whole trend lately of people trying to shut down opposing opinions is straight up stupid. If someone has a different opinion, shouldn't that be more reason to hear them out? Whatever happened to educating other people, instead of insulting and dismissing everyone else

Get hype!
Yep I still regret SF4 purchase. it was garbage
+Skiegh Amen, dude.
I think Nintendo does well with Smash Bros and Pokken Tournament: Games that are fun, challenging, rich, and beautiful.
Pokken was developed by Bandai Namco and was published by The Pokemon Company.Bamco also happen to be funding arcsys for DBZ:F.
I prefer that Dragonball Fighter Z game. That looks great.
Plays great too!
Oh shit acid glow plays fighterz
This is good shit. People were relentless on KoF. Capcom doesn't deserve any success.
N0pants you fast as fuck boy.
*boi
he knows this is going viral
Shout outs to Guilty Gear, the finest casserole I've ever had!
Man, Im not even into fighting games. I just played T3 as a kid and was checking out T7 found your channel and just wanna say you are such a cool dude. Trying to help the community with tutorials and all that.
By the way, how long did you let your beard grow? Kappa
Alexandre Figueiredo Enjoy Tekken, from his last evo he won in 2004 I think, he had no beard. So probably 13-15 years prior.
*STIFF..not "still"... Stiff models in Infinite.
yeah the roster in which 90% are gonna have super that are beams
kollie79 i mean...a game without them is like MvC without X-men...
OH
Ryan Fairweather but what if the mvc franchise dies for good
Chucho Silva tbh that's Z characters (Saiyans and Cell), most DB and Super characters don't rely on beams.
This is why Aris is the best in the biz.
Where's my wallet I've got some donating to do
Dragon Ball lasagna sounds delicious
Galactic Specter I said the same thing when I heard it!
So good you spend three episodes yelling continuously while digesting it.
Jeez man, I'm dying over here. Fresh upload.
1. Be constructive. Tell them why it looks like shit with concrete examples
2. Be Persistent. Do not take "we're looking at it" for an answer
3. Do not preorder
4. Be fair and firm, and let them know you don't want a mobile game fighter
5. The FGC cannot function without real talk.
Just to keep it short, you've earned a sub. had a blast watching your video and think you touch very important subjects that affects not only the fighting game scene but games in general in this generation .
you can have the greatest food on your plate, but if it looks like shit, nobody is going to eat it
guess anyone can be bought for the right price
Every man has their price.
What separates the weak-minded from the strong are the standards they possess and how willing they are to forsake those standards, selling their very souls for something that looked appealing but turned out hollow.
Masterofthemash gutter trash
Money Money Money Money Moneeeee eyyyyyyy
4 years later, it still ring true after Cyberpunk released
MvCI is an insult to FGC
They pretty much outsourced this game to some mobile developer overseas. Plus they lazily reused all the assets and somehow made it look and play worse. Sickening what they did to Marvel. This franchise might die at this rate.
The game is actually inhouse which I can't tell is even worse or even better.
I for one welcome our new dbz overlords.
the new dbz fighter is the final nail in this baby's coffin
what THEY did to Marvel? Marvel has a shitton of money, they could do whatever they want, if they wanted to make a proper game.
This has nothing to do with disney. Capcom has made better games with MUCH less budget. There is NO excuse for doing this to one of their most popular fighting games.
Bruh the way you speak is God-tier
Those Capcom shills were the very first one who made fun of KOF14 and its visuals and now those same manchildren are in full defensive mode.
Pathetic.
KOF14 looked like shit though
People always underestimate the value of beauty. Aesthetic design can be what drives a consumer to buy a product period. Also if you had the option of walking into two different buildings with a stark levels of build quality from the two. You would judge the building from the outside regardless of the interior. The game equivalent to that are the standards of beauty the common consumer holds versus those who can find beauty in the Indie market.
Hell take it a step further and analyze how you look at people. Your gazed affixed to beauty while quickly dismissing anything average and below.
I think "looking bad" in this case means "not looking like the characters." Looking good means looking the way it should, not looking some loose version of "pleasant."
Chun Li doesn't look like Chun Li.
The sad part it, the characters look better on the WE trailer than they did when they were first announced
"What did I just PLAY." -Shinkensou right before deleting the mvci demo off his console on stream.
MVC used to be a fan service filled passion project...I can't say the same for MVCI
14:00 "you have eyes" perfect timing!!
Rickstah, your thoughts? Man I miss the ATPLive show
Aris made a great point there ...
What's the left behind thing?
Forget about Chun Li's face, its more about the shitty DLC...all those characters should be in the game already.
Anything that is immune to criticism is a Tyrant.
REALIST SHIT I HAVE EVER HEARD! glad i found this channel keep those tekkeen videos coming taking notes .
"Dante looks like an NPC from silent hill 2" 😭😭😭😭😭😭💀
Thanks for telling it the way it is.
Capcom's business model is whack. at least Tekken players know when a new Tekken game comes out, its full of quality, a lot of work goes into the game to make it as balanced as possible.
aris are you going to do podcast ? i loved the podcast you did with rip. keep up the good work.
Kind of shocked not seeing a "Debbie Chesticles" username with a top comment on this video.
KOF 14 doesn't really look amazing, but it's quite fun and awesome imo.
Luis Kråke kof is a great game, and as dumb as it sounds when kof is moving it looks real good imo
Looks tons better than the Marvel vs Capcom Infinite characters.
mrdoolio Tekken 7 is beautiful on PC...
i was so freaked out when i left the speed on .5 from a previous video and heard slowed-down aris
This has been an issue in gaming for the past decade now - people dickriding these companies when they continue to push out garbage. A little tough love is gonna go a long way towards helping Capcom be the best that they can be. Do not support this rushed piece of shit game, unless you want more rushed piece of shit games in the future.
GIR177 couldnt have said it better.
Sajam looks a thousand times better than that Chun-Li.
Maybe they should scrap this game and make Tatsunoko vs Capcom 2 for all the new consoles, at least that way they'll have an easier time using the entire IP and not being hassled by X Men legal issues.
good shit dr. pantsless
Lol I thought he made this video special for the UA-cams. Then that donation went off and I realized that everything's gonna be okay. Aris still do what Aris do.
I need to subscribe to this channel. Love your content Aris, coming from a non tekken player.
Couldn't agree more. You can really see who's following.
I feel like the people who are looking for the quality marvel are going to hop on DBFZ
MvC:I should've gotten delayed at least 6 months.
DarKnightSpider I'd say 3 or 4
Matt Kugelman no they need 6. more characters developed into the game at least 10 minumum
godgiven probably it's just I really don't want to wait too long plus some delayed that are delayed once usually continue to get delayed
*cough*mighty no 9*cough*
Matt Kugelman i dont want to wait either but like aris said their are players that are in it for the long run. if the game comes out unfinished how could someone keep comming back to playing this game? it would be worth it to wait 6 more months imo
While playing MvC demo I felt that the only thing that's gonna hold the game in the long run is the tag system
"Don't diss Marvel cause it's anti-FGC"
*says BlazBlue and Guilty Gear are stupid* Least that's how it was for me years ago. I love Aris being real though. He makes so many good points in his arguments.
The next crossover game we are all been waiting for is mortal kombat vs killer instinct
facts man facts I hate the way it looks and there's a lot of food out there like u said lol keep up the good work love your videos bro
Can someone explain 5:10 ? What's the deal with "That left behind guy"?
I really appreciate that, bud. Thank you.
i died when you said chun looks like sajam with a little makup that shitt lamoo
What's this left behind maymay?
who's the left behind guy?
A capcom employee who made a tweet saying something along the lines of sf5 being great and people who think otherwise, or "haters," will be "left behind." It's a meme now.
driggity drake thanks, and wow what a dump.
twitter.com/diamonon/status/816529321711968257?lang=en
I wanted a training mode in the demo so bad. I need to feel it. So far its a no go but I'll always have UMvC3.
I was excited for a new entry in the MvC series, but it looks seriously disappointing, even after the demo releases.
not only a consumer, but also a fan!!!
But looking back, all the good Wii games looked good, even though they were on last-gen hardware:
- Mario Galaxy looked gorgeous
- Prime 3 looked gorgeous
- TvC's artstyle looked nice
- Okami's artstyle was beautiful
MvCI is using hardware 3 gens ahead of these games and it's still ass!
Its very mesmerizing when aris said a few months ago.
"they've been making fighting games for almost 30 years!"
2017 and we still get stuff like this? bruh...
this is for every genre so true.
Aris rants are the best rants
"Chun-li looks like Sajam put a little bit of makeup on" lololololoolool never laughed this hard in my life
"Chun-Li looks like fucking Sajam put a little bit of makeup on" had me laughing out loud.
it looks truly terrible but I have hopes that some tweaks can be done by release day or a delay to November might help.
the look of the game is not unfixable it just feels like the need to add some shaders and rework the faces.
the gameplay seems like it has potential at least so far.
hopefully they listen to the reactions and make changes/delay the game by a few months to rework the character models.
