I was staff for the SC2 tournament, man it was almost a week of organisation, the guy depicted as smelly is Asenka, the mad man who tried with all his passion to create a FGC in France and EU for many years (and often from his personal pocket ) and he somehow did light the spark here, he was smelly because he held this whole event all by himself almost, these were insane time. While me and other staff could sleep and take shower he was on the field making sure everything work for maybe the first tournament with such a huge number of international competitors in EU. It was great memory for me (i won my first DDR score tourney, went far in Guilty Gear XX #, played kof2003 despite i sucked at the game back then and joke around over SNKvsCapcom and its shitty music and sound). And yes Dan The Nightmare were a freak of nature when back then people barely knew wtf was a "strats", he kicked ass of the then best US Soul Calibur 1 (dreamcast) player (Fetz if i remember well who played Taki and ??Cervantes??) in 2001, won Evo2K3. A great player.
Asenka was one of us, a true OG FGC END.BOSS. He personally made sure we were meeted and escorted in Paris. Hosting tournaments is EPIC WORK because everything that goes wrong is your fault and when all goes right...people forgot your name.
I wish more gamers would have recorded videos of the tournaments they had done back then commentate on them years later.. This video was so interesting, perfect commentary, explaining what you wish you had done better while also praising your opponent. This is some Grade-A legendary shit right here.

Voldo is hard to read, not super well known, has fantastic mixups, and deceptively strong (good range and damage). Awesome character, I played him in SC4 and now in SC6

same, I used to be god tier at soul calibur, idk how compared to eh pros as the internet was dead back then. imo the series went downhill after 3, adding all the specials, armour breaking mechanics and stuff made the game stupid. The basic unblockables from 1 and 2 was fine.

Does Nightmare gain his own style in sc4 or 3? He seems completely different in SC2 although I know he was Siegfried in the old games. I also believe he's Siegfried in SC6
