Heard Vaders side. Thought it was genuine at first, but the more i hear other peoples stories who were there, Vader was obviously trying to downplay it.
It doesn’t matter how tough you are, theres always someone out there who is tougher and badder than you are and they can kick your a$$. Thats goes for everyone.

Penzer sounds different speaking normally compared to ring announcing.
The guy to ask is Meng. He was the one in the room.

@@TheHannibalTV the story just sounds innacurate. I'm a mixed martial artist I've been fighting an training for years. A man of that size has stronger face an bone structure. His entire face wouldn't swell like that off a single or even a few blows. Swelling generally travels to one side of the face an generally only happens instantly it you break your nose an blow it. This dude is full of shit. 1 "very good" punch from a sick guy wouldn't have that effect. Sorry

Vader said he let Orndorff hit him. Penzer did not see what actually went on. Vader was pissed because he just returned from a photo shoot. What Vader's face looked like after getting smacked a few times. Flip flops, who cares? Vader was afraid he was getting fired. Orndorff was in no danger of being fired, all they cared about was the shoot interview. I can't tell who is lying if anyone including Vader.
i knew vader was downplaying it the way he was talking, but i totally understand why. it was one of his more embarassing moments.
How is that?He slapped a 215 pound dude so hard it knocked him off his feet and put him out.Then Vader let him get a punch in and that's when Paul started just tossing punches so Vader tackled him to the ground.That is when I think it was Haku pulled Vader off Paul then Paul got that sucker punch in and a couple kicks.Love them both but really Vader won because he knocked Paul out with one shot everything after that was just shenanigans.

Now, 3 different versions of the Vader, Paul Orndorff incident! Tony Shovani states that Orndorff was not wearing flip-flops and that he was wearing his wrestling boots! Now, David Penzer is stating that Orndorff was wearing flip-flops!?
Then, Tony Shovani states that Vader pushed Orndorff, so Orndorff punched him once and then started kicking his head in! But then Vader states, that he slapped Orndorff so hard, that Orndorff went down and then got back up and hit him several times until he went down!
Three different versions and probably even more from other employees!
I believe a combination of the Kevin Sullivan and Vader versions. Vader probably knocked the hell out of Paul stuffed him into a big box as Sullivan said and then in the rematch let Orndorff havensome free shots. makes more since than a one armed old man beating a 400 lber straight up.
Pretty sure Terry Shovani didn't say Paul was wearing boots. If I remember correctly he was about to say Paul put the boots to him but changed what he was saying mid sentence. That doesn't mean he was wearing boots.

woa woa woa! just because someone got smashed and the face and damaged was doesn't doesn't mean for a second that he "hurt" the guy ! this is the guy that had his eyeball out of his socket pushed it in and kept doing the match.Paul hit him and Vader said the punch wasn't shit,did it do damage yes ,but it doesn't mean he was hurt :-) ! Think of a guy tough like a Stan Hansen you could've torn half his face off and he still rip someone in half laughing and drinking beer after ! But same thing when Paul "faught"Tony Atlas when they were riding together ,Tony got the upper hand then Paul got pissed and tried to bite Tony's ear off . Tony got off, fight stopped ,Tony went to the hospital for a tetanus shot because he knew it wouldve got infected.He showed up at the venue and Paul was chanting to the boys that he faught Tony and put him in the hospital.

There are dudes out there that can take a beating and unless you kill them it doesn't affect them at all. And orndorff does have that little arm so there's that.
Bullshit. Orndorff was a legit tough guy. Kicked Vader's ass and kicked Atlas's ass. Witnesses to both fights confirm this. And I'm not saying Vader or Atlas aren't tough guys, but they weren't tougher than the Brandon Bull that day.
@@blake7871 we also have to remember the toughness of Orndorff the dude fucked him self lifting weights in the mid-80s and his whole arm atrophied and he didn't want to stop wrestling because he was afraid someone would take his spot!! Balls and toughness galore, I believe he legit kicked Vader's ass that day
@@BenchesAt-ce2vr Ray Mercer has also stated multiple times that Tommy Morrison hit him harder than anyone else and that was the worst beating he took in the ring. He was just in his prime and couldn't be knocked out at that time because of an atg Chin.
I have heard my fill of this story. Let’s just look at the facts that can’t be embellished Vader is 400 lbs or more and is in his prime orendorf is past his prime no longer wrestling and he has a bum arm. I think if Vader was at the point of wanting to destroy Paul he would have but what kind of d bag would go all out in this situation? I don’t think he expected Paul to go nuts on him but I am certain if Vader truly wanted to he could have choked Paul out and put those 400 lbs to use. But neither person wanted to fight and the fact that it’s being called a fight is ridiculous there was no bad blood between these guys to start with and that really is the difference between a fight or a disagreement that went past words.
Orndorff was 45, Vader was 39. Hardly a case of one person being in their prime and the other not. If you don't think a 45 year old man can take a 39 year old man, you haven't lived life yet. There's a shoot video online of a little Japanese wrestler beating the crap out of Andre the Giant. Size has nothing to do with it. The UFC exposed that wives tale long ago. Orndorff was known for being a tough guy. Vader wasn't.
1 good punch doesn't make your whole face swell that's inaccurate.
Tell that to Nate Niaz, who swells up every time he gets punched.

his eye came out in a match in Japan... Vader popped his own eye back in and continued the match.

Who knows? it's not about Vader or Orndorff; like Vince McMahon is a master manipulator, so was Eric Bischoff. Everybody else, being stooges would have concurred with Paul's story [to ruin Vader] at Bischoff's command. If he was really that little and feeble, I just can't see Vader being what he was at that time getting the crap kicked out of him unless he was sandbagging, but nevertheless, I suppose stranger things have happened, meaning Paul's side could be true, but I'm not buying it completely.
If that was true, then now decades later, people would be throwing Bischoff under the bus.

I'm assuming orndorf must have stomped Vader's head like tony shovonie said. I highly doubt Vader's face looked like it exploded from one punch.. he must have been stomped on
Hansen broke Vader's orbital bone which caused his eye to pop out if it's socket. He was wearing a leather mask that was holding everything together, which is why you didn't see his face swelled up. I guarantee, his face was swelled up behind that mask.

Sorry but I still believe Vader's side of this. Orndorff God love him has been milking this story to get shoot interview money for years. I've listened to and or watched a lot of shoots from most who was there and not one person has said they saw Vader punching Orndorff, which fits perfectly with Vader's contention that he didn't fight back because he would have been fired. Do you really think a pissed off Leon White wouldn't tear him in half or at least do significant damage? He slapped Paul, Paul went down, came to, and then Vader let him have a couple freebie punches because he felt bad. The damage to Vader's face likely came after when Paul was kicking him while he was down.
EVERYONE who witnessed the fight backs Orndorff's story. Sorry, I believe Paul and the several other witnesses.
If your story had any merit Vader would have been able to bring WCW into a lawsuit. Vader got his ass handed to him by Mr. Wonderful.
@@blake7871 I think we have to take into account the political nature of this a lot of people didn't like Vader including Bischoff and Orndorff and probably most of the production staff and other wrestlers. Vader knew this also which was why he knew he would get fired if he really wanted to hurt Orndorff.. this story is a real klusterfuk and I don't know if we will ever really know the truth
@@Kshep84 Maybe, but it’s more likely that Vader underestimated an aging Orndorff and got his ass kicked.
Who knows. At this point most guys seemed to be siding with Orndorff. Leon’s stiff working style made a lot of enemies in WCW and it was going to be even worse in the WWF.
From where I'm sitting, my guess is that Paul breathed a big sigh of relief that Meng broke up the fight. Had the fight been allowed to continue, given Paul's bad arm, I think Vader would have easily gone over that night.
