I just finished my engine, engine area and front suspension here in Ann Arbor (total rebuild/refurbishment). I haven't run the engine yet because I will be replacing the fuel tank and my fuel is 10 years old (yikes). The cab will be next. Thanks for posting this video. About 10 years ago I ordered a set of CoolKat matting (high-tech rubber on one side, glass mat on the other) for the interior cab. I have no idea how it compares with Dynamat but my takeaway from your video is that it will be a bugger to install. I'll heed your warning about the transmission tunnel cover, especially. I just hope my CoolKat will look as professional as your installation of the Dynamat. I do remember how baked my right leg would get from the heat from the transmission. Minimizing this heat is my objective as well. My '65 is a roadster so noise is not the issue for me either...

Way to go Stan !! Keep going!
I have no experience with the CoolKat material. I can say that I like the Dynamat. Its straight forward to cut and shape. It is as sticker as hell and once its on it can be tough to get off. That first contact is very unforgiving. Especially hard when you are deep in the footwell trying to locate the piece of the firewall. Outside of that I like using it.
I create a paper template and then use that to cut the Dynamat piece. Then I trim the Dynamat piece in the car, then I remove the backing and stick the piece in place. I use a roller to get the piece to follow all the contours. The real effort is in creating the template and then trimming the dynamat pieced to the final shape.
I finished this on Saturday and my ribs are killing me still. Painful week.
