  • In this video you will learn How to Create Media Server using Router for LG OLED. No Need for Plex. Play Videos from Router on any TV with DLNA. It is very convenient way to play any video file on your TV using Router. #LG #OLED #DLNA #MEDIASERVER #NAS
    Follow Steps:
    1 - Make sure you have a router with USB 3.0 Ports.
    2 - Connect a USB 3.0 External/Portable Drive to Router USB Port.
    3 - Follow steps on TV to connect to your network.
    You can copy/add/delete files directly from a Windows PC or Macbook. You don't have to take out hard drive to put more files.
    Router I used: bit.ly/2i8RYrU

    you can also just choose "input" from your remote, and all DLNA sources are at the bottom of the input list... a lot easier and faster way to connect to any DLNA source.

    Hi MyGadgetsWorld,
    Great video! I use a netgear nighthawk r7000 router and using a wd mypassport external harddisk it works great! But i have one problem i cant solve yet and maybe you can help me. When i add with my computer a movie or a new folder on my harddisk it will not appear on my oled55c7. It will appear on any other device except on my tv. I tried to refresh the harddisk on the storage selection screen with using the refresh button on the right top corner but it wont work. I also tried to disconnect the tv to the internet and connect again but still no succes. Turning tv off and on again but still no appearance of the movie or folder. Even when i delete a folder from the disk the tv remembers the folder and still showing that folder. The only solution i found was disconnecting my harddisk from the router en connect it again but i think there might be a better solution.
    Are you familiar with this problem??

    • @MyGadgetsWorld
      @MyGadgetsWorld  6 років тому

      Sven Gillis thanks Sven. Sometimes few files formats are not supported by TV that's why it doesn't show. It happens with me as my main setup is same as yours. I use Linksys Ea9300 router and sometimes TV doesn't play some file types but my apple Tv and shield TV can play using VLC player. See the file which plays on your TV and download that specific file type to play on TV.

    • @svengillis
      @svengillis 6 років тому +1

      Thank you for the quick response! But the issue is not the file format because its a mp4 and it works fine when he appears. Its just the tv wont refresh the data from the harddisk. When you open the harddisk on the tv for the first time he will remember all the folders/files in his memory no matter what kind of change you do for example delete or add something from your harddisk he will show the same folders/files that he saw on the first time of the connection and he wont refresh to the current data on the harddisk. When i plug the disk out of the router en put it back in he will show the changes. But that is of course to much work to do every time XD. I think i just have to deal with it.
      Thanks!
