You're most welcome, Rebecca 😊
thanks so much for your videos! so informative!
So glad it was helpful, Lisa!
Thank you . . great information
Glad it was helpful!
Hi Yoni...you always have great info and explained so well. Thank You. What would you suggest for side sleepers and is side sleeping ok.
@Chris J - Thank you! Side sleeping is a great option. It should be noted that this video is on posture correction and the sagittal curves of the spine cannot be influenced (positively or negatively) in a pure side lying position. What matters most when sleeping on your side is keeping the spine a a neutral position -essentially a straight line.
Great video
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
I'm a bit confused about the side sleeping aspect. I have the painfix pillow, and on your 'customise your pillow' page it says 'nose, chin and sternum will all be in line with one another when you’re in a side lying position' But there are so many other recommendations when I google correct height for a pillow for side sleeping, for example...ear should be level with shoulder, philtrum and suprasternal notches should be level, shoulders and cervical spine should ideally be at right angles...basically they are all saying neck should be parallel to mattress, not bent down or up. But with your recommendation (and the picture) , the persons head is inclined up ie not flat. As a mostly side sleeper I'd like to get the height of zones 3 and 4 right. Thanks for any comment.
Great question! When using Zones 3 & 4, the head should be parallel to the mattress. Assuming, the pelvis and trunk are neutral, when the head is in that position the nose chin and sternum will all be in line. What you're seeing in the side-lying image is the result of a pelvis that's not in neutral (due to a combination of wider hips and a firm mattress).
Thanks for the quick reply Yoni@@painfixprotocol and clarifying about the misleading picture. I now have another question :) How do I know when I've reached the final level of stuffing in Zone 1? Is it just before I can't feel the back of my head on the mattress anymore? Thankyou.
What is the best pillow to use all night long? Is it one of the cervical rolls you have linked? Thanks!
The easy answer is which ever pillow helps you to get the best quality sleep. The other thing to consider is selecting a pillow that is in line with your health goals.
Hi Yoni. Thank you for this. When I lie in this position my shoulders are NOT touching the bed surface; What do you advise to correct this?
Good question, Peta. The first thing I would want to know is: why the shoulders are not touching. Is it because, they are rolled forward because of some muscle imbalance or pervious injury? Or, is it because your middle back is very stiff and/or has too much curvature in it?
Hey Yoni. So what would you say to someone who has pollen allergies most of the year and gets way too stuffy lying flat? :-)
@ Susan Lockwood - If that person was looking to correct some kind of postural dysfunction, I would probably look at incorporating other strategies (like Active Traction) for the times during the year that they were unable to lie flat and take advantage of spinal molding.
Hi,what is your opinion on functional patterns
@Abu Boss - Exercises and mobility techniques are like tools. With tools we never ask: "Is a screwdriver or a hammer a 'good' tool?". What matters is whether or not the tool appropriate for what you are trying to accomplish. Outside of a narrow sport/activity-specific application, it's hard to imagine a situation in which the type training of they advocate training would be necessary or appropriate.
How do you position yourself for sleeping after the time on the pillow?
@jltnelson - Simply use whatever position is comfortable for you. It's important to still get a good night's sleep. The goal is simply to slowly increase input over time and gently nudge your posture in a positive direction.

I have the older pillow and can NOT seem to position my neck correctly. Very uncomfortable! Do I just keep removing foam?
What do you do after the time is up, sleep on a different pillow? When I sleep on the side portion of the pain fix pillow it isn't comfortable at all even though the alignment is correct.
@Jen Moffitt - That's definitely one way to do it. The side sleeping lobes on the Pain Fix Pillow™ are designed to "funnel" a person onto their back - it's a training pillow. But, I would encourage people to use whatever position is comfortable for them. Once that timer goes off, you've already done a good thing for your posture. Now it's time to get a good night's sleep.
Can you send me the link for the pillow? I can’t find it! Thank you!!

How is latex non toxic ?
Anyone know of a coupon for the painfix pillow?
Hi April, we're planning a sale for this summer. Stay tuned for that announcement!
I have seen advice on youtube saying to put a rolled towel under the breasts to correct a hump/hunch; what is your opinion of this?
Good question, Peta. I'm not familiar with a posture correction technique that uses a rolled towel underneath the breasts. Is the person supposed to be face-up or face-down while doing that?
@@painfixprotocol Hi Ynoni. Thank you for your reply. the youube vid I saw recommended this said face up with the arms lifted up ie on the lying surface ; now that I think about it it may mnot be appropriate if I don';t have a hunch in that region of my back. Regards
How will you know when you can use it all night?
Good question, Dee. When you experience zero pressure or discomfort of any kind you're ready. Lots of people describe the experience as follows: "it feels like your neck is completely relaxed and your head is floating in space."
Is it okay to sleep on it all night when it feels comfortable?
Absolutely Paula! Many if not, most people work up to that point.
Is the pillow intended to ultimately sleep on all night?
The Pain Fix Pillow™ is a training tool. It's designed to re-introduce the normal curve into the neck. Yes, many people, myself included, sleep on the pillow all night. For people who have a reduction in (or loss of) the normal curve, it may take a little time to work up to sleeping on it.
Hi Yoni. Thank you for this. When I lie in this position my shoulders are NOT touching the bed surface; What do you advise to correct this?
The first thing I would want to know, Peta is: why the shoulders are not touching the bed.
1 - Is it because, they are rolled forward because of some muscle imbalance or pervious injury?
2 - Or, is it because your middle back is very stiff and/or has too much curvature in it?
@@painfixprotocol Hi Yoni. Thank you for your reply. I don't really know the cause; I assume it is from working with my arms in front of me for 64+ years, I did break the left collar bone which is slightly higher off the bed than the right shoulder ie. about 3ins as opposed to maybe 2 inches off the surface fro the right shoulder ;
I have a slight hunch but that is more rounded shoulders than a middle back hump or curvature; my middle back may be stiff; I get backache easily even when I do stretching exercises to try to prevent it.
...My middle back is not stiff and and too much curvature.
