Sometimes, even more advanced quilters get real joy from a simple pattern. This is one of those! I love it!! What a terrific baby quilt up to a full adult bed quilt! Thank you!
I think this would be a great quilt to put out on the patio for those early spring evenings that you need a little cover-up. So summery looking. I actually have this fabric!! Thank you for the tutorial and the free pattern. Very kind of you.
Good Morning Kimberly, This is a really cute quilt❣️ It would be a quick quilt to whip up on Saturday for the International Quilt Day. I hope you a wonderful Week. ❤️, Chris
Just bought the layer cake, I still have a layer cake from her first line. I may add them together to make a queen. Love this fabric, reminds me of my teenage years.
I love this quick and easy pattern! As soon as I saw that fabric, I thought it looked like a Maureen McCormack quilt fabric. You gotta love those bold florals! Thanks for the great video! I enjoy this series of videos.
So I can make blocks now., what step next please? fusion fabric? make the back of the quilt, binding? etc. You don't show these steps. All I see is various patterns to make blocks. Thank you for replying in advance
Hello Fernando! We have the instructions listed in the pattern. bit.ly/3msDCTJ We used one fabric for the background so we didn't film it but we have a start to finish series here that can help ua-cam.com/play/PLNTabBf7OG9I-atRF_8tbCEX0Oq1TYaat.html
Thank you for such a simple yet so effective quilt❤ - I'm using Tula Pinks Linework layer cake & it looks amazing, what a wonderful designer she is, those pops of colour are genius. Great tutorial, so grateful.
I made a Layer Cake Lemonade quilt two months ago for our Guild’s charity project for Hospice. It was so easy and came out beautifully. Thank you for the patterns! 💕🧵👏
I have never worked with fat quarters before, this looks like one I might be able to do. I for sure need patterns. Thank you for posting and sharing with me. I have just purchased some squares that are not quite 10 inches but I think they will work, just not as big.
Love, love how simple your directions are without all the unnecessary chattering which to me is very distracting. Thank you, thank you for making it simple and to the point.
Hello Beverly! Kimberly expects it to shrink so she makes sure she orders enough fabric to have the cut sizes that she needs. If she has a jolly bar quilt she usually buys a layer cake instead.

So very true Sharon!
Yes! We all need something like this as a pallet cleanser. So fun!!

It is very similar to MSQCs Double Slice pattern, which I have made.
This one ends up with a larger block.

I think I will be using this for a pieced backing for my sewcialites quilt with all my leftovers. Thanks!
Great quilt!!! Thank you FQS!!! In the beginning of the video, what is the quilt in the background on Kimberly’s left side???😊
Found the Blazing Star quilt. Don’t know how I missed it!!!❤❤
Hello Mindy! That is the Blazing Star Quilt bit.ly/3EyC2WN
This quilt pattern will be perfect for a large print Layer Cake in my stash that I had actually gotten from the Fat Quarter Shop! Thank you, Kimberly!
I just made this one using Firefly! Cutting again out of TP Besties
Will make a bunk quilt for a child using outdoor scenes, animals, trees etc. thanks! Love your finished product!
Lovely quilt Kimberley 🤩 Just what we need when we just want to sew 👍👏👏🇬🇧
I love this for a quick quilt that looks more complicated. I appreciate that it includes different size choices.
I want to do this pattern using Dwell. Thanks for the pattern!
As always good tips thank you 👍👏🥰🌸🇦🇺
Great quilt pattern and video, Kimberly. Thank you!
I love patterns with bigger cuts. Sometimes small pieces get to be too much.
I was just looking for a fun easy layer cake pattern. Thank you fat quarter shop!
I still have her fat quarter bundle I haven’t decided what to use it for lol
Thank you so much!
Would you recommend directional prints?
Hello E P! Yes you could use directional prints but it may take you longer if you would like your prints going the same way.
Thank you. I have just the right layer cake for this 😊
Ok, wait.back up .. I would like the pinwheel pattern on the right side of screen also. Is there a pattern for it?
Hello abramsseed! Yes, we have a link for the Blazing Star Classic & Vintage Quilt Pattern (PDF) - bit.ly/3EyC2WN
thanks so much :)@@FatQuarterShopTX
Thank you for the pattern. This will be a quick and easy quilt.

Thank you! I knew FQS wouldn't ignore my message.
Love it!
Could make this out of scraps - would look great
Love it!
Ooooh! I want to make one of these out of my vintage linens!
Could I use fat quarters instead of a layer cake?
Hello Michelle! Yes, you would just need to adjust the requirements.
Thanks FQS…beautiful ❤❤
Thank you for all the great videos and content!
Love the quilt pattern! Love the fabric prints! I love it all! ❤❤❤
Thank you Kimberly.❤
love this pattern! Are you starching the 10" square before you cut or starching the cut piece?
Hello MJ! Kimberly starches before she cuts.
Love this quick and easy pattern!
I love this!! Thank you.
❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much for this!!
Perfect pattern for this happy fabric!
But I have a question I know you starch all of your fabric before you use it. What do you do when it shrinks
Hello Beverly! Kimberly expects it to shrink so she makes sure she orders enough fabric to have the cut sizes that she needs. If she has a jolly bar quilt she usually buys a layer cake instead.
Yeah, I found that out the hard way my jelly bar shrunk and I didn’t have enough to finish my quilt blocks until I get more. Thank you for the advice.
Thank you ….🦋🦋🦋
Great Inspiration!
Can you tell me what digital design was used for the quilting on the quilt? I love this quilt!
Hello Nancy! We do not have a name, we chose based on a screenshot from the quilter.
@@FatQuarterShopTX Thanks for your reply anyway!
We were able to find the name for it. It is called Windswept.
@@FatQuarterShopTX Oh my gosh-I found it! Thank you so Much! You went way above and beyond.
Do you use spray on starch then iron? Thank you...
Hello Thinking out loud! Yes, Kimberly starches first and then presses if needed.
@@FatQuarterShopTX thank you, great channel...
