A little story on Diamine's Writers Blood ink that y'all might enjoy reading. I love this ink so much that I sometimes go live on a social media platform, writing quotes and names of people. Every time I go online and write, I receive so many compliments about the ink and gain dozens of followers. My writing is good, though not the best cursive, but the ink is absolutely mesmerizing, and people truly love this color.
I am a full on 2024 LAMY Dark Lilac fan because the controversy over the "original" just made my eyes roll out loud. Good grief, you haters are hating on a bottle of ink? I am putting this ink in all of my purple-ish pens just to piss you off.
As a huge fan of the original, I love the new ink (though sadly haven't been able to get a bottle of it yet) - the fact that it IS a little different is nice, because it makes the original just a little more unique, and still very limited and special when you use it in a letter. The new stuff looks perfect as an 'always inked' alternative.
Lamy pink cliff ink is now one of my all time favorite inks! Its great in a wide variety of nibs and pen brands. The colorverse fountain pen day ink was also really really good!
Diamine Eclipse is my all time favourite dark purple ink. It’s dark enough to be seen as black and I use it all the time in professional settings. I’d like to try inks featured on this list. Thanks!
Hi Brian! A lot of ink goodness there! Dark Lilac is ok, but in my opinion, Blackberry is an awesome ink! Golden Lapis is pretty, too, but watch for clogging! Oxblood is just a mainstay for many FP owners and users.
Underrated, is Faber-Castell's Lapis Lazuli, a nice Klein-Lapis blue, but I don't think GPC carries that brand, so it was definitely missing from Brian's 2024 ink list. Meaning to try it out one day.
I've been wondering what hemp paper feels like to write on vs regular paper made from trees or higher tiers of paper. Hoping you could make a video on it
I’ll try a sample of Hades. I have a sample of Colorverse Glistening Black on its way. Totally agree that Pelikan Golden Lapis is amazing. I have it inked in Benu Talisman with M nib and it has flowed with tons of shimmer for a few months straight. Though honestly I’ve not been too enthused with previous Pelikan inks if the year. This was great. Glad to have a bottle. I didn’t get the Inkvent calendar this year, but I’ll try some of the samples soon.
That 3 frames of nitrogen almost made me spit-take lol. Also for what it is worth, for anybody who picked up sherwood green, I highly recommend mixing it with degrees atramentis heliogen. The sherwood deepens the more jade green of heliogen and dilutes the copper flakes to make it behave better while retaining some of the red sheen. I call it Cthulhu's blood XD
I think Diamine Grotto from the Inkvent Calendar and Supergiant from the Colorverse Calendar are my standouts that I hope they get released for regular production.
Gorgeous inks - and excellent choices. I'd love to try some of these, but I'm very wary of the sheen and shimmer inks corrupting my fountain pens. I always think it's a safer bet to stay with a tried and true standard performer.
Well, dark purple ink is the best color ink to write with any time! So, of course it should be the biggest seller!!!:) I still don't know how anyone can use Nitrogen! I bought a bottle and it clogged up my pen so badly, I tossed it in the trash. What a horrible experience it was!!! I love these year end lists. Thanks for a great year!
(Me, pre-watching this video... 💭🤔 "I'm pretty sure 70%-80% of these inks are going to be B-L-U-E. Right?") Lol... Happy new year, Brian (And all of the Goulet family & staff) ✨🍾2025🥂✨ (!!!) Edit- (Approximately 9 mins. later) 📼🎥 "I'm taking the 5th and the 6th amendment. I will remain silent... 🤣🤣🤣"
I had the same thought! Ha ha! We all know how much Brian ❤ blue inks! 😂 Can’t believe the purples won out this year. My FAVORITE color! YAY! No surprise on the shimmers/sheens though…they are SO PRETTY! Thanks Brian and team for the wonderful list and carrying all these fabulous inks. ❤
In your description above, you don't seem to have a link to the Colververse Colorvent Calendar. I have to admit that the product is quite interesting to me. Thank you for posting this video because it revives my interest inks. Question: do other Goulet Pen employees agree with your ink selections? (Grin)
I didn't see what Diamine did this year, but the Colorverse inkvent was a bit of as bust for me. Way too many of the colors were obviously small shifts in the same basic color palette.
I am sad that wearingeul, Ferris wheel press, robertoster and many more inks are not available in india And every colourverse is 3 times more expensive compared to diamine 80ml inks ☹️
Don’t mean to be a curmudgeon but I couldn’t abide Edelstein Golden Lapiz, the gold sheen in blue base combine horribly on every sheet of Japanese A4 stationery I typically use. Ugh.
My best ink purchase this year was the one I bought from you guys online. Haven’t tried it yet, but the free tootsie pop was heartfelt. Thanks!

Great video. So glad to see Diamine Sherwood Green getting some love - it is my favorite green
Diamine writers blood has my heart
Mine too. I journal with it every day

Great to see you killing it, Brian! IDEA - which pens, nibs, filling mechs are best for shimmer inks?
I love these videos. There's a lot I haven't tried yet.

Just take my tax return now. 😅 Lol
IRS employee here. The government receives your tax return and issues a tax refund. Please don't file your tax return with Goulet. Ha ha ha.
@marachristian8726 Goulet Pen Company would give me more than the government.

Diamine really beats out a lot of stuff since they are all indeed generally reasonably priced compared to their competition
Diamine Shroud Sheen - what an unexpected treasure. Must get a bottle of that!
Wearingeul and Ferris Wheel Press did SO well this year, I bought at least 12 samples from them 😖
This was a good one, thank you for having honorable mentions.
Enjoyed that Thank you
I really dislike shimmer myself for my own usage. But it's neat what people can do with them.
You made me tempted AGAIN
YES ! Finnally its out
I was waiting for Lamy Dark Lilac 😅
I've been wondering what hemp paper feels like to write on vs regular paper made from trees or higher tiers of paper. Hoping you could make a video on it
Sherwood forest may be my new go-to green for my Custom 74, rapidly overtaking Shin Ryoku in my affections. What a great list!

These look so beautifulll

Are Goulet nib housings compatible with Benu pens?
I believe you'll find that it is pronounced "Wearingeul Frahnkensteen"
I think Diamine Grotto from the Inkvent Calendar and Supergiant from the Colorverse Calendar are my standouts that I hope they get released for regular production.
Great list!
I know there will be lots of lawyers involved but a purple ink named after the rock group Deep Purple would be awesome.
I wonder if they can make it a little smoky. (Okay, I'll show myself out....)
@ Oh, I think Colorverse may be able to whip up a color called Space Truckin’.

Blue Dragon was my absolute favorite ink this year

Wearingeul Hades is amazing!

Dose anyone ever play that guitar in the background?
Edelstein Golden Lapis. Oh My Goodness! Do they harvest that in the clouds above Mt. Olympus?
I am sad that wearingeul, Ferris wheel press, robertoster and many more inks are not available in india

The Colorverse Colorvent was awful to me. Much preferred the Diamine.
I mean why even put money in savings when y’all are just gonna take my money
Please stop that thumbail madness 😢😂
Hades is Άδης in Greek, not Άιδης. Do some research people
