Your “You” turned out great! I especially like how well the beard turned out. I do have a question about your mold. Did you use some kind of spray to make sure your Funko head would come away from the air dry clay? I’d like to try this, but I don’t want to ruin my original 😅
@@killasandra5 glad u enjoyed the video 🙏🏼😍 I used a plastic wrap around the figure to make the mold .. also I did it in two halfs to make easier to separate Make sure to share with me yours if u ever made one 💪🏼

Alyza Changco really glad it helped 🙌🙌 I’d recommend polymer clay cause it’s more durable, air dry clay is more fragile and could easily break or have cracks when it dries.. good luck and happy early birthday ✌️😁
Sculpted them into size .. then attached them first before hardening to know the most stable position.. then hardened it in that position ✌️ I was lucky I’d recommend doing a base if your figure isn’t stable this was my plan at first

I did it the last time but it failed because instead of me using foil for the head I used a block of clay for the head and that was so heavy at a point the whole body collapsed.

I’m doing my research to start myself and one thing I’m noticing is the sanding tends to kind of leave that “grain” type look to where it couldn’t really pass for legit. Not that I want to try to trick people, I’d just like it to match style for continuity. Did you ever try experimenting with a higher grit or using several coats of sealer for a smooth finish?

I wanted mine to look matte so I didn’t bother to give it a smooth finish I only did this one figurine but I’m definitely gonna do another ones in the future.. maybe an updated version of me Also thinking of doing one of Adam Savage or Pewdiepie .. just need some free time since I’m a full time set designer/ filmmaker now it’s hard to find free 5 or so days for these personal projects anymore 😅
The whole process took me over 5 days Had hours worth of footage .. tried to fill in as much info and details to help anyone who wants to know more about the process Believe me u won’t enjoy seeing me sanding for literal hours 😂 had to mix between Timelapse and real speed clips every now and then just to make it enjoyable yet informative for anyone watching ✌️ U saying this is fast yet people told me the video is slow and too long 😅 I guess u can never please everyone on the internet ! Also u can try wet sanding with a lower grit 👌🏼
