- The family of a pregnant woman who was killed and had her unborn child cut from the womb is hoping her son, who survived, pulls through. Marlen Ochoa-Lopez, 19, was nine months pregnant when she disappeared late last month in Chicago. Police now say she'd gone to retrieve baby clothes from a woman she'd met in a mother's group on Facebook and was killed. The infant survived his horrendous entrance into the world but is considered brain dead. Now, the family is hoping for a miracle. #InsideEdition

This happens a lot, pregnant women should NEVER go to a strangers house alone. No one should. Always be cautious when meeting random people no matter who.
I'm a true crime junkie and never realized this was an issue until now, during my first pregnancy. It somehow never crossed my mind that people would be sick enough to target pregnant people and I think this has got me rightfully paranoid.

@@anonomous8649 If you’re a true crime junkie you should know not to put nothing past people. I didn’t know about this issue specifically but the same thing applies to protect yourself from rapists and serial killers. You just never know the intentions of a stranger.
Or don’t go at all. Meet at the police station or some public place. You can get baby clothes at the dollar store or Walmart anyway. Nobody needs anyones hand me downs for a new baby. Heck, I’ll gladly send a gift card and let the person get what they need if it’s gonna keep them out of someone else’s home so this mess can stop.

I used to worry about this when I was pregnant. Totally delusional of me probably but it was definitely on my mind. It caused me to be very cautious and aware of my surroundings.
My son passed 10 years ago, he was 1 years old when he passed, but when he was just a couple of months old I got my tubes tied... never could I ever imagine doing this to someone , I could never replace my little boy, Logan, he's in heaven waiting for me.

Back when I was a teenager, there was a home invasion and murder in my neighborhood. It was one of the first really publicized 'craigslist killings' in Washington, and it's made me so much more careful of any 'meet to buy' website. Anytime I need to meet up with someone I don't know, I always offer to meet a police station close by. And if they refuse, the internet's a big place... I don't need anything they're buying/selling that badly!

This was utterly horrific just to imagine, i cannot fathom the family's grief and what was going through that girls mind when she was about to be murdered.
This woman was pregnant the same time i was so hearing about it had me shook. Sometimes we feel invincible but hearing her story made me feel like a vulnerable pregnant woman and gave me a scary sense of mortality. I remember the baby being on life support so i kept checking the news for updates to see how her baby was doing, hoping and praying. When I was emitted to the hospital waiting to give birth, they had a tv on in my room with news that the baby didn't make it. I felt so overwhelmed and emotional that it took a moment to actually focus on my own joy because I was grieving the loss of her child. Life can be so cruel, unfair and fragile for some. I will always think of them when I think of my sons birth and how lucky I am to have him and be alive today. Rest in peace angels.
