I have the Lead Acid booster pack, use it for everything in yard; trucks, cars, tractor and motorcycles. But seems neighbors like to borrow it more then I use it, they do bring it back. Always great information and well presented, keep smiling!
Hi Dana, you never connect the black cable to the -ve terminal on any lead acid battery, always the chassis, away from the battery. This is because as you bring the clamp into contact with the battery there will be a spark, even on an almost dead battery. There can be a lot of hydrogen around the battery and it can cause an explosion. There's lots of nasty accidents on record 😢
As a 63 year old mechanic I spent all of my professional life going on to terminal of lead acid until 2019 when the hydrogen in the battery ignited and blew plastic battery fragments at high velocity fortunately missing my face. However I did loose sight in one eye for around 5 weeks as the battery acid had burned it. Advice is connect to an area away from battery and allways remove that one before the possi on battery. Nice one Dana as usual your presentation is lovely to watch x
I have a friend who just bought an even SMALLER jumper unit. It's literally the size of a pack of playing cars. I watched him hook it up to a classic MGB sports car with a very dead battery, and it spun the engine FASTER that a standard fully charge regular 12 volt car battery. I couldn't believe the power! - Paul, USA
Go with the NOCO. The company has been in the battery business since early 1900 s. We purchased jump charger fir our diesel truck. Works great. Also genius 2 & 10 to maintain all our toys. An equipment in the down season. They are smart chargers a will keep your battery’s charged an healthy 12 vlt lead acid , Lithium , AGM. Keep up the good work
Well presented, informative and instructive booster comparison and tryout. Each booster having it's own pros and cons that were well explained and appraised. Well done once again Dana.
Lovely Dana When ever I see your smiling face you’ll have boosted my day for the better. Ever so Thankful for the useful information that you two give to us. Happy Trails xoxo
Talk about master of the obvious..when you said "I have a pair" I spat my tea out 😀, and you could get me started with your terminals, no need for any accessories ❤ good technical advice also.

I have got an idea. Your next project could be adding a kick starter to a modern bike. Then you won't need the chargers. After that, you can teach people how to not get thrown over the handlebars.
On most modern bikes if your battery is that flat that it won't start the bike then you just won't kick start it either. In many cases even attempting to push start it won't do much either as its too difficult to push it fast enough to spin the engine over sufficiently.
On the other hand, Ring make a range of properly pocketable jumpers, or at least stuff in the front of your jacketable. The RPPL range. Can I have two points for the suggestion?
Connecting the two clamps to the battery may cause a spark and an explosion connecting the earth away from the battery my spark but not next to battery
Lead acid batteries produce hydrogen and oxygen which occupies the headspace in a battery above the electrolyte. If such gasses are not vented correctly or are exposed to a source of ignition, battery explosion can occur. This is why your supposed to put negative clip to ground away from battery. A spark could cause battery to explode!
I have three chargers of different capacity each. One small one for easy motorcycle application, one medium one for m/c use as well as torch/phone charging and starting small cars, and a larger one I use with my off road vehicle for when in remote regions of Australia. They are all "iTech" from here in Western Australia, and they have all been used to assist/start others at various times. I don't leave home without one of them.
Off the topic here, but where do you get your chroming done. I have a pair of 1981 GS550E forks that need re-chroming. 35mm but with some rust in the usable area. Next question, how long do they take? I live in NZ, but I am visiting for seven weeks from early August to late Sept. Your help would be appreciated. Steve
@@bikerstuff2 I tried the source on the KM90 restoration site, but they don't do the "hard chroming" on front forks (stanchions). Any other ideas? Steve. 🤔
Interesting. Thank you. I have a Noco booster in my car just in case I accidentally leave my lights on. Can't they make a car where the lights go out when you shut off the engine :-)
@@bikerstuff2 My little Toyota Yaris still has a few years in it and I just have to remember to turn my lights out :-) Maybe I will get an electric car by then. I rarely go on long trips, so range is not an issue, and I can rent a car for that. I need to go about 40 miles per day between charges. Hopefully be able to charge it overnight through a long extension cord out the back window.
Hi Dana, I searched through your vids for Metal polish but there wasn't anything. I have a badly coloured header pipe, tried wirewool and polish but although is shiny still brown, do you have any recommendations please? autosol Brasso baking powder. Thanks B

Seen it happen , the end came off in bits . No one was injured just a change of underwear lol
Absolutely correct. Charging a lead-acid battery will give off Hydrogen with some degree of risk of explosion.

Unfortunately it only works if you have an unpainted frame or engine
