Looked like a great trip! It wouldn't be a beach trip without at least one MaxTrax event but for me...the chainsaw was the winner. You don't see a guy chainsawing he's way through the beach every day! Great video!
Did they close the sand road on the ocean side? Last time I went through there it’s was narrow and had a few permanent campers. Love that spot though, I liked watching the cargo ships come into the bay. Nice video🤙🏻
Where he camped was closed also. ocean road is closed and the whole end where he camped is no camping now. No camping on any dry sand permitted anymore. Apparently he thought it was cool to cut the long arm Johnny tree branch too. BLM ain’t gonna like that
Guess it depends on who you talk to. Local sheriff told me I was open to me camping out there and told me the way to get there because the ocean side route was closed due to construction.
Do you have any negative comments about your X22, I’m considering buying one in 2025 when I retire. My plan is winter camping in Alaska, I’ll be solo traveling. I am aware that X22’s are no longer being made, but I figure that a used model would be around $50K-$60K by 2025 due to depreciation and the X145 and X195 will be more popular for the general public. And or are there things you really love about your X22. What modifications would you make or have made?
We love our trailer. Well built and about the best there is for cold environments. I have had some issues with it like all rv's. Just little things like the water pump going out and motor on the toilet. Little things like that. Definitely don't hate anything about it. There’s a bloke in Australia where snorkels are super common that runs a truck called Roothy. Not a Cummins but what was interesting, he stated all the snorkels they have over there and everyone runs, almost all of them are not built large enough to provide the airflow needed. He mounted a tractor air box on the roof and used large piping to create his. I believe the local dyno shop verified what worked and didn’t. I’ve always wanted to build one for my 04 Cummins but after seeing that, I guess I’d need to see what size.

@AdventureJason, according to the story I was told by locals several years ago when I was visiting that area, those are shotcrete reinforced Quonset huts that were commissioned as barracks for the PNW Seabees during WWII, who were stationed along the coast to watch for foreign aircraft and boats that attempted to infiltrate the airspace or land onto U.S. soil. They were abandoned after the war, and then were used for a Seabees museum and surplus store from 1950-58 when it was shut down for lack of business. I do prefer it over the ball hitch for sure. More secure and more articulation. The pintal hitch has too much play in it. I definitely like the lock n roll much better than those hitches

Thank you. I built the snorkle myself, because there isn't much in after market parts for the ram. Especially snorkles

I believe they are SDHQ mounts that I put a bend in them, so the mounting hole is horizontal.

Well, the local sheriff is the one that told me how to get out there due to the normal way being closed. So it worked out great for us.
