Good commentary. I’ve just taken delivery of my black 2022 Grom, and having had a Grom Gen 2 and also owning a Monkey 125, this new Grom rides and feels way sharper. Definitely peppier and longer in the gears which makes it easier and more enjoyable to ride. Digital dash is a nice upgrade to. Don’t buy these bikes for their speed, but almost the perfect bike for the city…hard to find more fun on 2 wheels than this. Honda has just made an icon even better and more desirable 🌟
I love my 2015 Grom... I ride on the highway and went 70km/h almost everyday. Maybe reaching 90 once or twice. I don't care for big bikes. This one is special. Will definitely get a 2023 Grom in a few years. By the way I am 5.2 height. 🤣

personally i like the Grom SF Design better.... especially the Headlight... the actual Grom have this big Cyclops humongous headlight again like the OG Grom... i always hated this ugly design ...... what i like on the new Grom : the Dash,Seat,5speed transmission ,Rims and finally it does have an OilFilter What i dont like on the new Grom : Cyclops Headlight design, SidePanels
all mechanical upgrades to the 2022 grom/monkey.......................... slightly less bore, slightly more stroke, almost a full point higher compression, smaller/lighter catalytic converter, single chamber muffler vs last models 3 chamber muffler, revised air cleaner setup for less restriction, 1st gear is lower then last models 1st gear, new 5th gear is slightly higher then last models 4th gear, 37 tooth rear sprocket vs last models 34 tooth and I can't say on the groms but the monkeys got a new dual stage rear shock/spring/revised damper rubbers setup that should be better for bigger riders. Seems like the main focus was more torque with both engine refinements and gear multiplication. I also "heard" the new engine is almost 1 hp more, but thats a rumor, so take it with a grain of salt. likely it probably feels like it has a little more power then last years models with all the changes made. If you know of any other changes, please reply and add to the list. My black 2022 monkey will be here later this month, i can't wait.
I would upgrade a original Grom because of the price the reliability goes out the door and nothing will be covered by Honda. But a clone on the other hand all day cheaper don't have to weary about warranty you could have a better bike then a Grom if you build the clone right for the same price as a original Grom you could put 2500$ in to the clone and still only be at the groms price tag that a lot of upgrades 190cc z's 5speed . a original Grom will end up being 6000$ or more after moding ouch
@@PetroHead Nothing wrong with a Ruckus as long as you keep it Factory Stock. When you modify a Ruckus with a GY6 engine, lower it, stretch it with those stupid stretch kits, and an Air Intake you ruin and destroy your Ruckus.

got my 2022 grom ABS with 1,400kms its now lightly modded making 10hp vs 7.8hp at the wheel for $4300 in total.

I have a 1st Gen Grom. The 4 speed with the round cyclops headlight. I love this design.
